    Hi SA and Dancing. :hello:

I finally packed my hospital bag today, there are probably a few more things to go in but most of what I need is in there just in case. :)

:rotfl: at only having a bag of satsumas SA. The muffins are actually not bad and yes obviously much healthier than ones with sugar and white flour. DS is very happy with them and keeps asking for "cake". :)

Dancing, yes 5 weeks to go. Feeling a bit nervous about dealing with a new baby and DS now. DS has been so rough recently, jumping all over me and pulling my hair. Just hope he calms down a bit or the new baby will need body armour!

Yes thankfully work finally got their finger out, they are hopeless sometimes. Wonder who forgot to do something, my managers or the HR dept?

DS woke up a few times last night all blocked up. :( Trying a humidifier in his room tonight to see if it helps and he had a nice warm bath, vicks on his back and chest and some calpol before bed too. Fingers crossed as I'll have to get up as DH up early for work. I've been kicking him out of bed the last few nights to get DS since he's been off. :o

We took DS out for a run around the park today (obviously I wasn't running :rotfl:) and he really enjoyed it, as well as feeding the ducks and swans. The swans weren't really interested in the peas but the ducks liked them. :D

Made chicken enchiladas for dinner and DS ate loads and kept saying "yum" so think he liked them. He particularly enjoyed the sour cream & guacamole. :)

Going to return the dining booster seat, not worth paying £21 for and not really using as it's not quite right. Will get my £10 voucher refunded and the rest back on the card.

DH has been quite grumpy the last few days as he's not been feeling well either. Hope he cheers up soon. He did pack away more of his stuff in the garage so good progress there.

I have decided to start putting some of my survey money into a separate account to try and build up a small emergency fund. Have been using survey money to buy clothes and pay a bit off the bigger loan recently. Don't really need any more clothes right now so I'm thinking half to OP the loan and half into my EF. It won't be huge amounts but better than nothing, which is what we have now in terms of an EF. :o

Have had a really lazy day today - the weather has been miserable and it felt like winter. :(

Poor DS is still a bit under the weather, he refused to eat his lunch and was just wailing, then nearly falling asleep in the high chair. :( I put him straight into his pram for a nap and he had a good sleep and woke up a lot brighter.

His nappies have been leaking overnight again too, poor wee soul is soaking in the morning and tells me "I pee cot" when I go to get him up. :( We've had this problem before and seems to be when he goes through a growth spurt. He has been drinking more due to having the cold but don't think that's the only reason.

Thinking of trying some night time pants or something but unsure if they would just leak too. He wears pull ups during the day but tape up nappies at night and this has worked for a while. I feel like the pull ups are too loose for overnight.

Need to try and get DS out tomorrow, even just into the garden if the weather is still miserable. I do need to collect some clothes and boots I ordered from Mr A for DS but will probably do that after DH gets home so I can have a look around by myself rather than dragging DS literally kicking and screaming around the shops. :o

Need to drop into my sister's at some point this week too to give my nephew his birthday present. His birthday was last week and i had it ready, just didn't see him. :o

Really need to get my finger out with housework as have just been doing the absolute bare minimum. Feeling very drained right now though. :(

  • I know everyone tells you to rest, but you do need to ignore the mess. I'm glad the scan was ok.

Could DH help with the housework? Another one here nagging you to get some rest while you can.

We started off with rain here, then it was sunny but windy, followed by rain late afternoon. Autumn is here with a bang :(

Hi redo & SA, I'm trying not to let the mess get on top of me and (mostly) succeeding. I know it will all go to h*ll for a good while once the new baby arrives anyway so don't know why I'm worrying really. :rotfl:

DH will help out with the cleaning if I ask him but he just doesn't seem to see mess/dirt where I do. I've been putting washing into the basket to take downstairs and he's been doing that and putting the washings on and even hanging them up.:) We've still not quite got round to him putting them away yet. :rotfl: The biggest thing I need to do is clean the bathrooms, it only really takes half an hour or so but can be difficult with DS running riot.

I know I need to rest as I physically can't keep going some days so just have to accept it but it can be frustrating. I keep feeling like I've pulled a muscle on the side of my bump and think it's from bending/leaning down so have to be careful of that.

DS still wants/needs picked up at times as well so that can be hard as he's getting so big. He pushes against the bump a lot which can be uncomfortable but then the baby pushes back at him. :rotfl: Not even born and they're already fighting. :rotfl:

Had my growth scan today and then sent round to the diabetes consultant's clinic. Growth scan all fine, still at 50th percentile (DS was between 95th & 97th when he was born ). Hoping this one stays an average size. :o

So far the consultant is happy to leave me alone as the baby is normal size and my blood sugar is under control without medication.

I have another appointment in 4 weeks when I'll be 39 weeks. They did say the longest they would leave me (assuming all going well) would be a week overdue. No chance of the midwife led unit due to the gestational diabetes diagnosis so will be going to the labour ward. Oh well. Fingers crossed I won't need to be induced and if I do that I won't need the hormone drip so I won't be stuck on the bed.

Ordered a new mattress for the Moses basket today, it only cost me £4.90 as I had a £5 voucher. :T Only paid 95p for a new filter for the perfect prep machine due to the £10 refund from the dining booster seat as well. Will need to clean it and the microwave steriliser out in the next few weeks.

Also ordered £20 m&s vouchers from a survey site when I hit pay out which we can save towards Christmas and £20 p@ypal from another survey site. Have added the £20 to the EF, taking it to £31, will get there slowly.

Managed to hoover both upstairs and downstairs today, it really needed done. Got DH to carry the hoover up and down the stairs for me too which was helpful. :T DS loves watching the hoover getting emptied into the bin and going "Eeeww yuck!" :rotfl:

Also got DH to put a washing of DS's stuff on and I stripped our bed and washed the sheets later. DH put the clean sheets on the bed and I put DS's stuff away once it was dry.

DH also cut the grass and dug up our last lot of potatoes, we got 2 small sacks worth, pleased with that. :j A lot of the plants were on their last legs so cleared most of the tomato plants out and the cucumbers as well. Garden bin is very full now. DS was busy destroying what was left of my flowers and eating the last of the sungold tomatoes.

We still have our jalapeño and bird's eye chilli plants in the greenhouse though. Will probably move the blueberry plants in there over the winter.

Still have to secure some raspberry canes properly as they have been bashed about in the wind and rain. Also have some blackberries to plant and daffodil bulbs need planted too. Will need DH to do that as I'm really struggling to bend at all now.

Fairly pleased with the amount of work we got done in both the house and garden today. Will try and clean the bathrooms tomorrow as that's the next most urgent thing.

Hoping to get some winter pansies/violas and heathers to brighten up the garden over the next few months. Will need to get this done in the next few weeks though otherwise I won't have time.

Have ordered some second hand books online for DS as part of his Christmas, more Mog the cat books and a couple of Hairy Maclary ones too. He likes Hairy Maclary as there are dogs and cats. :D There is a Siamese cat in a couple of the books too which he calls by our Siamese's name. :) Managed to get 4 books for not much more than the price of one new.:T

Very tired today, DS has been very willful so there have been a lot of screaming tantrums when he hasn't gotten his own way. DH & I took him out to the park to meet my sister to try and tire him out a bit. She had her own twins (10 yo) and our 2 nieces (3 & 4 yo) as well as her wee dog with her.

The park was horrendously busy as it's a nice sunny day, parking was a nightmare but managed to get a space in the end. DS just wanted to do his own thing so there were a few more screaming fits. He was mostly happy running around with his cousins though.

DS now having a nap & I'm recovering on the couch. Hoping to get some work done in the garden tomorrow as the weather is meant to be good again.
