I use this one Beanie, Logic gel. It comes with a long nozzle you can screw on the top & just squirt into the cat's mouth. No way my cats would actually let me brush their teeth. :eek:They do like the flavour of it though so are willing to let me give them a bit every night before bed.

It's meant to have some enzymes or something that help break plaque down. I think it does help, I got it as oriental cats are very prone to gum disease etc & my previous 2 Siamese had to have a lot of teeth removed by the ages of 6/7. We got those 2 at the ages of 5 & 7 & the 7yo had already had all but her big 4 front teeth removed. The 5yo had terrible breath & had to have pretty much every tooth out after we got her, poor thing had 3 fangs & 1 back tooth left! Also cost a fortune.

My old Siamese boy is 11 now (had him since he was a kitten) & he has only had a few teeth removed. He's had the toothpaste pretty constantly since he was a kitten, along with oral health biscuits, so think it must be helping.

Had a fairly sedate day yesterday, although had to go out to feed my mum's cats. DS ran about the garden whilst I sorted the cat food & we stayed for 45 mins waiting for the cats to show up. One was at the door within a few mins of us arriving but the other didn't appear until about 10 mins before we were leaving. Was getting a bit worried as that was the cat who normally sticks close to home, think he must have been asleep somewhere.

I managed to leave both cats in the house when we left yesterday so today I can go in & feed them/clean litter etc then let them out if they want. Need to go down there with DS before dropping him off at my sister's & going to work. Also need to remember to put the bin out for my mum.

Whilst we were going out yesterday I took a parcel to the shop with some clothes I had ordered but decided to return, including the t-shirt I had ordered for my niece which had a hole in it. Should get £27 back onto my card for the returns.

I ordered some pjs for DS & my little nieces (as part of their Christmas ) in a sale online, some of the sets were only 95p. :T So that's 5 pairs of pjs for DS for the winter (2 in the size up as his legs are getting long!), a pair each for my 2 little nieces, a pair for the 1yo whose birthday is on Saturday & 2 packs of underwear for my nieces as well. Cost £20 altogether including the postage which is quite good.

Also checked my present box & found a t-shirt & pair of pjs for my niece whose birthday is coming up next month. So have those plus a skirt for her, just need to get a small toy & she's done. :)

Cashed out £5 yesterday from vypr & the money was in my p@ypal this morning. :T That can go to either the bigger loan or the house savings towards the garage conversion. I'm trying to pay half of any survey money towards each.

This is progressing very slowly as the council are being arsey about building permits etc. Looks like we will need an architect & the price of that sounds scary.:eek: They're being over the top about the information they want on the plans.

The garage is built in so all we need to do is take the garage door off, brick it & the side door up, put in a window, then it's insulation/flooring/plastering/electrics etc & add a door into our house. Although obviously that's a simplified version. :rotfl:

Sounds like it's going to take a lot longer to get started than we thought. The only good point is that we can try to save more money towards it but if we need an architect then we will probably need to use that money to pay them.

Good news though in that my sister is going to take DS to the birthday party on Saturday so he won't miss it. :)

Work was fine the other day, although I was tired by the time I arrived as stopped by my mum's to feed the cats & let them out, then dropped DS off at my sister's before going to work. DS was quite happy until he realised I was leaving & then the screaming started. :(

We had pretty heavy rain whilst I was at work so I was worried about my mum's cats being left out all night. I asked my brother to try & get them in if he was passing as I was working until half 11 and they had been out since 12ish. He managed to get one cat in but couldn't find the other so I had to drop by on my way home after work. The missing cat was waiting on the porch luckily so I let him in & fed them again.

Glad I dropped by as would have worried all night otherwise. :o

Yesterday was fairly quiet, did some hoovering & basic housework but nothing much else apart from taking DS out to feed the cats again. I was exhausted as didn't sleep well.

Stripped the bed & washed the sheets but they had to go into the TD as the rain was on & off all day.

Had a bit of a falling out with DH as he was being very impatient with DS when we were trying to get him ready for bed & was blaming me, saying it was much easier when I wasn't there. DS was crying & clingy because he was tired & DH was shouting. Bloody men.

So far today have just done a few washings & stripped DS's cot bedding. Been down to to feed the cats & left both out wandering, so might get DH to pop down later to get them back in as he's going out for dinner with his friend (lucky him).

Need to take DS to get his feet measured again, I think he's gone up half a size or so.

Have done a few surveys today, not far off cashing out on OP. :)

Have been working away on early shifts so lovely 5am alarms for the last 2 days, one more shift tomorrow then 2 days off before another day in. Feeling pretty tired, always struggle more with early shifts anyway but doubly so when pregnant.

Not really been up to much except work to be honest. Went & got a lot of toiletries/cleaning stuff on my break the other day from savers. Love that shop, the shower spray I use is only 79p in there. :T It's the best lazy one too as it doesn't need rinsed off. :j

DS went to the 1st birthday party yesterday & was apparently a social butterfly and really enjoyed himself. :) I was a bit worried he might get upset as it was busy & he didn't know everyone but my sister said he was great. Of course he started moaning when I arrived.

DS staying over with my mum tonight as I'm early shift tomorrow, need to collect him sharpish after work as my mum is working night shift tomorrow so will need a sleep.

DH making some dinner for us so just relaxing on the couch with the cats now. :)

Had a stressful day yesterday due to DH's depot move. He kept assuring me that once his training was done he would be able to move his work/rest day pattern so that we have cover for childcare.

Well guess what - he can't get the rest days we need because there are no vacancies & no one will swap him. That means he's working the same pattern as me & makes childcare impossible as we're shift workers. I was pretty sure this would happen but DH kept saying it wouldn't. His old shift pattern was perfect as he was generally off on my 2 days in.

I work 2 days a week so not full time but that means there are 2 days every week that we are both meant to be working at the same time now. Even if I swap days they are still days that DH will be working so that's no use.

So next week we're both meant to be working late shifts, I finish at 11:30pm & DH finishes after midnight. Not as if we can just put DS into nursery! :( On early shifts I start at 6am & DH can start at any time from 3/4am onwards. :(

I don't know what we're going to do, I was really upset yesterday & cried at my mum & sister when I went to collect DS after work. We need this sorted for at least the next 3 months until I'm on maternity leave so DH is trying to work something out with his managers. Then at least we'll have nearly a year for someone to move/leave/retire & hopefully DH can swap to the working pattern that will suit us.

Just feeling tired & down about everything, don't need this stress right now. :( The warm weather is really draining on top of my early shifts too. :(

Off today & tomorrow, just did the big cat litter clean & put a washing on but need to hoover, put another washing on & clean the bathrooms (ideally). Will see how much I get done. :o

Keep spending money on clothes because nothing fits (both too big & too small) & I don't like some of the maternity stuff from last time. Just feeling uncomfortable & fed up and think I've really overspent on clothes now. :(

My uniform at work is also really ill-fitting, the maternity trousers are too long & I have to roll the waistband over so I'm not walking on the hems. Again, my waist is expanding but my legs aren't growing any longer! The blouses are ok in a bigger size now but too short in length!! Think I'm going to have to wear my own clothes soon.

Feeling very doom & gloom so far today. :o

  • Oh poor you, sounds like a very stressful couple of days. Hope everything gets sorted up to your maternity leave, it's so hard planning the logistics of work and childcare. Frustrating too that you could see the way it was heading but your DH couldn't :(

Try to have a little bit of 'you' time while you're on your days off. You deserve it and it'll do you good xx
