:rotfl: Beanie, at least if it was my own mum I could just tell her to p*ss off & she wouldn't be (that) offended. :rotfl: MIL just gets on my nerves & I end up snapping at her and then she dislikes me more.
A lot of it stems from her weird baby snatching behaviour with DS when he was first born & obviously I was exhausted & hormonal which didn't help.
She also doesn't like me much because DH moved up here from Englandshire to be with me, although that was 15/16 years ago now so you'd think she would have accepted it. Both MIL & FIL ask DH every so often whether he's thought about transferring to such & such a company near them.
DH was less grumpy today & hoovered upstairs for me when he got home from work, then made the dinner, although I did help him & wasn't "just sitting there" today. :rotfl: We had chicken quesadillas & then a peach cobbler that I made.
I managed to hoover downstairs & use the spray mop to clean the kitchen, utility room, hall & downstairs toilet floors. I also cleaned the boot tray in the utility room which was very mucky. Cleaned the bathrooms upstairs with DS "helping" too.
Used another survey voucher to order replacement mop heads so they only cost me 99p "real" money. The mop heads are washable so should last a while and will have 3 now instead of only 1.
I even went out & tidied the front garden in the rain (can't do this when home alone as no fence or hedge to keep DS from running away so DH needs to be in) by tying my sweet peas up to the trellis to encourage them to cling on themselves & dead headed my climbing rose. It has exploded so also cut some side shoots off but it will need to be secured to the wall a bit more as it's getting twisted in on itself. Will need DH's help for that though.
Found some slugs (yuck) whilst dealing with the sweet peas so threw them onto the grass for the birds & then put slug pellets down.
Forgot to mention we had our first courgette & first ripe strawberry from the garden yesterday. :j
Came in from the garden today just as it really started pelting with rain & then we had thunder & lightning within 10 mins or so. Hi DancingInTheRain :hello: Thanks for delurking.
As you can see in my last post I'm still ranting. :rotfl: My DH is very good most of the time & I am a tad impatient atm but I think it's allowed. :rotfl:
Can't remember if I mentioned that DH has classed himself (along with the cats) as "loved but forgotten" these days. :rotfl:
I'm not sure if my MIL staying nearer would be better or worse. She would probably always be turning up & trying to interfere because she knows best, along with FIL trying to dictate everything we did. But then again at least it's probably more bearable in short bursts.I hate sharing space with people so having my in-laws stay is like my worst nightmare & I get really grumpy. And that's before they start all their cr*p!! :rotfl:

Feeling drained today but will be an early night as up at 5am for work tomorrow.
Poor DS had a nappy leak at 4am this morning so I had to strip him & his sheet & mattress protector then get him in clean pjs & cot re-made. He was very good & went straight back to his cot to get tucked in but don't think he slept again for a while as heard him talking to himself.
Thankfully the duvet wasn't wet but think I might get a cheap one as a spare just in case. Maybe another thing on the list for the next survey am@zon voucher. Washed his duvet cover & pillowcase this morning anyway.
It's been dry today so got DS's sheets hung out, his clothes & a dark washing as well. Have also stuck the door mat from the front hall in to wash as did the back door one yesterday.
DS is currently obsessed with bees & just runs around the garden shouting "Bees! Bees!" whether he sees any or not. :rotfl: We do get quite a few, especially near the raspberries & tayberries. We have bird nets up but DS has realised he can stick his fingers through & pick the nice red fruit! So now we have to try & beat both the toddler & the birds to the berries.
DH currently has DS running around the garden chasing his ball & laughing like a maniac.DS started chasing me round the kitchen the other day with his doll's buggy.:rotfl:

Oh no to the 4am start, poor you
Good plan on the spare duvet. Our DS1 is 3 and out of nappies at night, he still has the occasional accident though so I keep a made up duvet and pillow set in his wardrobe and have also followed the 'lasagne technique' of alternating a couple of layers of waterproof sheets and regular sheets on his bed so that we can do a quick change of bedding if needed in the dreaded early hours. Makes life much easier
Hope you're able to catch up on sleep tonight x0 -
At least I was already up with my weak pregnancy bladder, Dancing, so not as bad as it could have been with the 4am start! Plus he went back to bed without a complaint & we got up about 8 so pretty good really.
That's a good idea about the layering of bed sheets, will have to remember that, thanks. :T Also a good plan to have the duvet & pillow set made up in the wardrobe. Much easier than searching through drawers etc in the dark.
Had a small meltdown at dinner & stormed off upstairs for a lie down. Definitely feeling a lot more emotional this pregnancy & DH doesn't know what to do.Think I need to get DS & I out a bit more during the day as it keeps us both a bit brighter.
Think I've killed one of my birds' eye chilli seedlings when repotting it as somehow managed to snap the main stem.At least I have another one I suppose.
Heading to bed shortly, fingers crossed I can sleep.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Had a stressful day at work yesterday & a silly argument with one of my managers (totally over nothing
) which then led to me crying for 45 mins.
Once I started crying I couldn't stop and every time someone spoke to me I would start again.
I felt insane, this pregnancy is making me an emotional wreck. I can't understand it as I breezed through it last time.Even thinking about yesterday is making me cry again! It's so embarrassing as not like me.
Most of my shift at work are older men so they've mostly been there with their wives. They gave me a couple of sideways looks & left me alone & one of them was nominated to give me a pep talk and a hug. :rotfl: Then a few hours later a few of the others sidled up & asked if I was ok now.:rotfl:
Felt exhausted after all of that! Luckily had a good sleep last night, DS was exhausted after spending all day in the sun at my mum's. He saw my cousin's baby who is just coming up for one & apparently loved her & kept kissing her.
Managed to buy a spare duvet, pillow & duvet set for DS for £20 due to a discount code my cousin gave me, so pleased with that. :T
Bought myself a potted sunflower for £2 from Mr M's on the way home from work yesterday to try & cheer myself up. Will pot it up in the garden shortly.
Had ordered a handbag & make up bag from accessorize as part of my mum's birthday next week (even better they were in the sale). They arrived yesterday & I'm pleased with them, look lovely. She will be 60 so wanted to get her a few nice things along with the pots & plants for her garden. Going to get some nice toiletries as well then just the cake to organise.
She's having a wee party in the garden (weather dependent) so I'll have to help with the food. Not back at work for over a week so plenty of time to get stuff sorted.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Oh poor you, sounds like you had a hormone filled few days, I had to chuckle at the image of your colleagues wondering what to do though :rotfl:
I found myself very up & down emotionally with my 2nd pregnancy too, this heat won’t be helping you either.
Plans and gifts for your Mums birthday sound lovely.
Hope you manage to enjoy your time off and you manage to relax a little, might be worth planning to do something just for you if possible? X0 -
Your hormones are all over the place.

Hi Dancing & Beanie, yes my hormones seem to have taken over during this pregnancy.
Dancing, the men at work were pretty funny during my crying fit. :rotfl: There was a mixture of sympathy & "Oh here we go with the crazy pregnant lady" vibes. :rotfl: Most of them are old enough to be my dad but they all have sons & no experience of daughters. :rotfl: They bought me some cake to try & cheer me up.
Today I managed to get two washings done, hung out & put away. Also did the big clean of the cat litter trays & re-potted my new sunflower plant. DS promptly then pulled it out of the pot. Luckily it wasn't damaged.
DH came home from work with a friend who is staying overnight so they can do grown up things like play video games etc. DS loves DH's friend & was straight over for a cuddle. :rotfl:
It has been so warm all day, hoping it cools down a bit so we can actually sleep. Poor DS is tossing & turning, not helped by our neighbours sitting in their garden playing music rather loudly. He can probably hear all the kids still out playing as well. Oh god the neighbours are now playing Lady in Red (help me).Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
