Snap. People think I am a snob when they first meet me.
For the same reasons.

Oh Beanie, it's horrible when people make assumptions at first. People who don't know me are always surprised that I can actually be nice once I feel confident enough to speak to them. :rotfl: One of my colleagues said I have "Resting B*tch Face":rotfl: Luckily I'd known him for a long time at that point so wasn't offended when he said it. :rotfl:
I actually used to get older men in the street walking past me telling me to smile. Um, yes thanks for that complete stranger who I'll never see again. Funnily enough it was always older men & it stopped in my early twenties (thankfully).
I remember my sister just walking about cradling a bottle of the liquid stuff for heartburn when she was pregnant with her second DS. :rotfl: Think I might need to resort to that soon. :eek:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hi Kirsty, thanks.
Went out today & took my mum round to Mr M's as she doesn't drive & needed a few things. DS was actually good as gold, I think he enjoyed being out & people watching whilst we were shopping.
We spent the rest of the afternoon in the garden as it was quite sunny & DS was running around chasing the neighbourhood cats. My sister & then my brother also dropped in at different times so was good to see them. Didn't have my brother's birthday present with me though as didn't expect to see him. Grr.
Tomorrow I really need to do a bit of tidying up in the house, I have such a big ironing pile & just can't face doing it.I know it will be fine once I start but can't seem to get started.
Also have some eggs past their dates, will check if they're ok & use in some cakes or something to use them up. DH wanted to chuck them without even checking if they were still ok to use.
My mum has offered to keep DS overnight tomorrow to give me a break as she was going to watch him for us on Thursday afternoon anyway whilst DH & I are at the 20 week scan.We can pick DS up afterwards.
I'm also going round to my friend's house for dinner tomorrow night (there will be 3 of us) so it will be quite relaxing. Not seen them for ages so will be good to catch up.
Poor DH is feeling very tired & a bit stressed with his depot move as he has to learn new routes & traction etc. He thinks it will be good once he's settled in a bit more but just feeling a bit out of place for now.
Having a problem with an order I placed online - the item didn't get delivered despite the tracking saying that the courier had had it for a week!
I complained & got the item re-sent & it arrived today but I also asked for the delivery charge to be refunded. They agreed to this but then said I had to phone to get the £3 back. I asked them just to refund it by my original method of payment (paypal) & they said they couldn't, I needed to phone for a manual refund to my card. I said fine, send me a cheque I'm not phoning but surprise surprise they said they can't. Going round in circles & it's really annoying me! Why should I have to phone to get this money back?! No doubt I would have to explain the whole thing over again on the phone & I just don't think I should have to. Rubbish cucumber service & really puts me off ordering online from this company again.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. It's early learning centre/mothercare Beanie, their customer service is just dire. What if for some reason I literally couldn't phone up - would I just never get the money back?
Have sent another email but not expecting much in the way of a reply - it will probably be another variation of "can't" do that you need to phone. :cool:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. ELC was fab when my DS was wee but that was a long time ago:rotfl:I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. As I thought the reply to my further email was another variation of "you need to phone to get your whole £3 back" so I'm totally fed up with this delivery refund business now. I'm never placing an order online with them again.
Had my 20 week scan last Thursday but need to go back 2 weeks today as there was a measurement that was 0.1mm over the top end of average. As it was in the brain it's a bit worrying but the sonographer & Dr who checked didn't seem too concerned. Still need to go back for one of the senior consultants to do another scan & re-take the measurements after a couple more weeks growth. Fingers crossed we're back within average measurements again then. Everything else was perfect.
It's DS's 2nd birthday this week, can't believe how quickly it's come round.Just having a wee party with his cousins, hopefully the weather stays dry so we can have it in the garden.
Our twin nieces stayed overnight with us last night, they came round for dinner & helped us make beef burritos with tomato rice & a chocolate pineapple pudding for dessert. They were a good help & made most of the pudding themselves. DS loves having the company.
My sister is coming up to watch DS for a couple of hours until DH gets home as I need to leave for work before he gets back. Tomorrow I'll need to drop DS off at my mum's.
Went out yesterday with DH & DS to get more compost and some plants for the garden. It was 20% off all outdoor plants so a good day to go & it was pretty quiet as a drizzly day.
Have been looking at what to do with the extra £180 p/m from the loan being paid off & we have decided to put £100 into the house savings towards the garage conversion & pay £50 off our higher interest car loan. We'll leave the last £30 in the joint account.
We will have to borrow if we go ahead with the garage conversion but the more we have in savings towards it the less we'll need to get as a loan. DH has seen a few loans at 2.9% which is pretty good & we should have a good chance of getting that rate. If we did the monthly repayment would be around the same as the loan we've just finished so £180.
Not ideal to add to the debt but we can afford it as long as we stop any silly spending.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Haven't updated for a few days as feeling so tired after working 4 out of 5 days, just don't think I'm sleeping well.
Also having problems with a varicose vein in my leg, it's been really swollen the last few days. Putting my feet up does help but not always possible.
Went to my friend's for lunch yesterday with DS & a couple of other people. Was nice to see them & DS loved all the attention.
My cucumber seeds have finally germinated this time & are now seedlings. :j Will probably need to repot them soon.
The weather has been so wet the last two days though which has limited my time in the garden.Still have quite a few plants to pot. Delivered one of my tomato plants to my friend the other day so a bit of space in the greenhouse now. DH said the runner beans have germinated too. :T
Did a couple of washings today & hoovered the whole house. DS pretty well behaved for most of the day. He asked me this morning "Where MY Dada?" after DH had gone to work. :rotfl: There was a big emphasis on the MY. :rotfl:
Need to get the food organised for DS's wee birthday party on Saturday, hoping it's at least dry so the wee ones can get out into the garden. My sister is dropping the twins off earlier on Saturday as she's working, so they can help us get things ready.
Will make some fairy cakes & probably just shove some pizzas & sausage rolls in the oven. Maybe make potato skins as they usually go down well too. Was thinking of getting some meringues, whipping cream & strawberries too. Will chop up some peppers & cucumber for the dips as DS loves raw peppers.:)
Need to clean the bathrooms tomorrow & clean the kitchen floor. Could do with stripping the bed as well.
DH made a £20 op to the big loan the other day with quidco money & I gave him another £20 towards it from survey money, so a nice £40 op. He put another £50 into the garage conversion savings too. :TSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
