    Thanks Beanie. :)

DS a lot better today but still tired & a bit clingier than normal, he keeps coming over for long cuddles.

We got out into the garden for a bit whilst DH cut the grass & I tidied some of the plants. Lovely sunny day & DS enjoyed running around for a bit. Found more greenfly! On my raspberry plants this time! Have sprayed the horrible things.

Had bought a cooling mat for the cats for warm weather using survey vouchers but it doesn't seem to be working very well. I'm going to send it back for a refund as otherwise it's a waste of money - I like the idea of it though as the cats do get overheated but then they're cats, so would probably ignore it or lie next to it rather than actually use it. :rotfl:

Am eyeing up a water fountain for the cats now but will only get one once I have enough in vouchers. Also on the survey voucher list is some garden shears & possibly a salt lamp as they're meant to help with asthma which DH has.

Big cat has discovered that DS is a very good source of food (finally) so now perches on the kitchen table next to the highchair whenever DS eats & stares until he's given something. :rotfl:

Old cat sits underneath the highchair to catch anything that is dropped/goes up on his back legs & paws DS's legs to beg for food every so often. My MIL goes crazy about the germs etc. :rotfl:

Tbh I do have to kick them both out after 5 mins as otherwise DS just feeds them half his dinner.

I am also thinking about a cat water fountain.
Havent looked yet so no idea of cost & worried they might not use it.

Beanie, the cat water fountains I've been looking at seem to be around £25-£30.

That's my worry as well with the cats not using it, you can never predict what they'll like or use! Unless it's something you definitely don't want them to sit on/eat etc. :rotfl:

Forgot to mention that DH told his mum about DS having a sickness bug & he was then subjected to the Spanish Inquisition over where he had got the bug from.

DH said she kept on & on about it, listing every place she could think of.:rotfl: I think she's lost the plot! :rotfl: No idea where he picked it up, does it really matter??

Heading to bed soon, might go & visit my mum tomorrow if DS is brighter and she's not busy.

Went to visit my mum yesterday & DS had a run about the garden since it was nice and sunny. He had a good chat with next door's cat as well, the hands were waving about & everything. :rotfl: The cat stayed well out of reach obviously. :)

Think DS has caught a slight cold from DH as he's still pretty grumpy & now has a cough. :( Poor boy is having an early nap after refusing everything I gave him for lunch, hopefully he'll eat something when he wakes up.

Have used my new spray mop (fill the handle instead of using a bucket) to clean the kitchen floor, it really needed it. Hoovered the rest of the house & have done the big clean of the cat litter trays. Washing of towels done & dried and washing of tea towels, cloths etc on now. Need to clean the bathrooms but want to take DS out into the garden if he's feeling better after his nap.

Another lovely day here, working tomorrow & Thursday. DH is changing the depot he works from next week so his shifts are all up in the air, we don't know what days/times he's working which makes it difficult for me to know when to arrange childcare. I think we'll have at least a 4 week period of having to arrange something every day I'm working. It's annoying as we've been lucky so far that we rarely need childcare as DH is generally off when I'm at work.

Got my 20 week scan next week. :j

Hello Sashybo, just found your diary :) How fab are spray mops LOL.

Been there done that with MIL and the over-fussing with my kiddies, used to drive me nuts. I will never be like that with my GKs.

Anyway have subscribed and hope all goes well with baby number 2 xx

I know Beanie, it's going in fast.

Hi SA :hello: nice to see you. :) I'm very impressed with the spray mop so far, maybe my kitchen floor will stay slightly cleaner now. :D

There are SO many issues with my MIL, all I can do is be grateful that she doesn't live nearby. :T She fixates on random things that she then asks a million questions about i.e. where did DS pick up the sickness bug. Thankfully she normally plagues DH with the questions as she knows I don't have the patience for her nonsense. :o

DH is already panicking about telling his parents that they can't come & stay with us after the baby is born. They tried it with DS & I said no way, I told DH I'd probably kill one or both of them if they were living in the same house as us with a 2 week old baby.

I'm pretty sure this time MIL will try to muscle her way in by saying they'll "help" look after DS whilst I'm dealing with the new baby. It's not happening & if they're not happy about it they can speak to me. I know they'll try to bully DH as that's what they always do. My MIL used to deliberately walk away from me when DS was a baby & crying and reaching to me when she was holding him - she would actually try to turn his head from me to her. Gobsmacked wasn't the word!

  • I've just finished reading your diary - you will be fine with 2! You're so organised. A second one does not cost that much as you have the vast majority of the stuff already and your life is already set up round a child. Much much easier going from 1 to 2 than from 0 to 1. I have 3 so I feel qualified to say this!

Hello Theamazingshrinkingwoman thanks for dropping by. :hello:

Thanks for the confidence vote. :D I keep telling myself it can't be as much of a shock to the system bringing baby no 2 home as it was with baby no 1. :rotfl: I don't feel organised, I'm good at planning to do things *cough* housework *cough* but then half the time can't be bothered. :o

Just worked two early shifts & it was so nice to escape to work and have a wee break from DS. :o I don't think I could cope full time at home with him, I actually feel lucky that I can get out to work 2 days a week (never thought I would say that!).

Of course I love being with DS too but it's good for both of us to be apart sometimes. DH appreciates his days off looking after DS on his own too, it helps them to bond more. With DS it's Dada this & Dada that atm. :) He was behaving beautifully for DH & then being a grumpy brat as soon as I came home  (both days), making me paranoid!

DS still obsessed with the word "stuck" just now - I locked the bathroom door last night & could hear him running through to DH after trying the door handle, saying "Dada, muma stuck". :rotfl:

A new Lidl opened in our town last week & I drive past it on my way home from work so dropped in on my way home yesterday afternoon. I was quite impressed with it, we usually go between Mr M, Mr A home delivery & Mr Al's. Trying the Lidl nappies & pull ups as DS keeps leaking with all the other nappies, he seems to be an in between size. :(

Went to savers the day before to get some toiletries & cleaning stuff , so much cheaper for branded things. Bought a solid stick for headaches, always carry one with me as it usually sorts out a headache without taking painkillers. DH had stolen my previous one as he was so impressed with it - only cost £1.49. :T

Planning on cleaning the bathrooms & possibly another shot with the spray mop today. :) Need to check if I have gel liners for my hanging baskets before putting the trailing geraniums I bought in them.
