DS had a lovely time at his wee birthday party & it stayed dry so we all got out into the garden for a bit. :j

The twins helped me make fairy cakes & also some empire biscuits, although I was a total donkey & dropped a full tray of biscuits when taking them out of the oven. They went flying & crashed all over the floor into crumbs. :( I was quite sweary at that point. :o I remade the biscuits so we had enough. Used the recipe from this website & found it pretty easy. Lots of nice looking recipes on there that I'll need to try. :)

I felt like I spent half the the time putting food in the oven because as soon as I put it out the kids ate it all! DH was too busy yakking to my brother to actually help me. One of the twins actually turned to me & said "Uncle DH talks A LOT". :rotfl: He did help with most of the tidying & cleaning up later though.

DS had a bit of a sore tummy that night from too much cake though. I was exhausted & up at 5am for work the next day. Work was busy both days, back for another shift on Thursday as had to swap due to DH's new training roster. My mum has been a big help looking after DS otherwise I don't know how I would be able to get to my work some days.

Someone at work really annoyed me today with the way he is doing things. He has just started in the same job a few weeks ago but on a different shift, so we share the same desk/equipment (i.e. I was early shift & he was late). Now there are generally 4 people over 3 shifts who do this job plus a couple of people who cover sickness etc.

Of the main 4 people, 3 of us having been doing the job for years but this new (to the job, not the office) guy thinks he knows better. He does things that are wrong but won't take the hint when told not to do it because in his mind he knows better than us. He also changes the layout of screens we all use on the desk which would be fine if he changed them back after his shift ended as 3 out of 4 of us don't use the layout he does but he leaves them the way he likes them. This also confuses the people who do ad-hoc cover as they don't know how to change the layout back to the one they're familiar with.

It was annoying me that I didn't just say to him today look it's fine to have the screens the way you like them but please change them back at the end of your shift. He probably wouldn't listen right enough but at least I would have been clear. He just talks over me & I find it really irritating!! Anyway I was mentally beating myself up about it & feeling pretty pathetic about not saying it but have now decided not to get upset about it. I can't control what he does. I'm not going to worry about it. It's annoying but it's not just me he does it to so I don't have to fix it all myself.

I took one of the smaller tomato plants down to my mum to put in a hanging basket (tumbling toms) & some petunias I had bought but realised I had too many bedding plants.

Need DH to buy some compost as still have some to pot. Have re-potted the cucumbers & got them into the greenhouse along with the 2 remaining tumbling toms, so have 7 tomato plants (5 sungold) in the greenhouse now along with 2 sweet peppers, 2 cucumbers, 1 jalapeño, 1 strawberry plant and a few runner bean seedlings.

Outside we have the early potatoes (doing well) & the maincrop potatoes, 2 strawberry plants in hanging baskets, 2 blueberry bushes, 2 courgette plants, 3 gooseberry bushes, several raspberry & Tayberry canes, mint, parsley, rosemary, chives and some radish & beetroot. I still have 2 birds' eye chillies & 1 jalapeño seedling in the bathroom too.

Don't think the blueberry bushes will do much this year as they are young plants & actually think I need to move them into bigger pots. One has gotten very tall but not bushy & the other has struggled a bit. They might do better if the weather picks up but it has just been wet and miserable the last few days.

Tomorrow I'll need to do some housework as it's been neglected whilst I've been at work (bare minimum done). Also need to rest though as I'm still so tired & finding it difficult to get comfortable in bed at night. :( Hopefully it won't be too wet outside so DS can have a run about in the garden.

Sounds like your garden is doing far better than mine, this weather has been great for the weeds. The killer cat got the last of the tomato plants, think one may survive or there will be no tomatoes this year. I have aubergines and chillis to pot up next for her destruction and entertainment.

That recipe website looks useful, will save for a browse later.

Hi Beanie :hello: Thanks for popping in, DS is such a sociable wee boy - I don't know where I got him. :rotfl:

Yes, there always is one colleague that thinks they know better/can do better/are generally better than others who have done the job for years. Doesn't help that most of us doing the job are women & this one is a man. He thinks his opinion is more weighty just because of that!! Thankfully the managers mostly know he is a waste of space, all mouth etc. He should never have got the job in the first place  but nothing to be done now & not my problem. I certainly won't be cleaning up his messes after him.

Hi redo :hello: I think we've been lucky so far with the garden, although the wind & rain the last few days has battered the courgettes a bit. Also we don't have a killer cat to contend with. :rotfl:

There looks to be a few good recipes on that website, I need to try & do more cooking. Getting bored of everything food wise. Was ravenous at work the last few days & had to go out and buy lunch. DH is feeling stressed so just wants to eat takeaways atm, need to stop it as turning into a bad habit again. :( I don't even particularly enjoy them most of the time.

Back is sore this morning as must have been sleeping funny, still struggling to get comfortable. Must be time for the full length body pillow. :T Need to see if it's still ok though as think it got battered last time. :o

Need to motivate myself to get some housework done, only put one washing away & one on so far & emptied the dishwasher. Need to hoover, brush & wash the kitchen floor and do some tidying.

DS running around with his wellies on in the house, playing with his new cars, trucks & pirate cove toy (an extension to the pirate ship he loves :)). Cats are watching him in equal parts terror & fascination. :rotfl:

Still no joy with my delivery refund saga, have opened a case with payp@l, will see what they say. Have ordered a chocolate orange whiskey liqueur for DH as part of his Father's Day present. No idea what else to get but will order a photo card for him from DS in the next few days.

Managed to get the hoovering & floor washing done yesterday, along with another washing. It stayed dry long enough to hang one washing out but DS's washing needed to go into the tumble dryer.

Today I need to put some towels in the wash & do the big clean of the cat litter trays. Was up late this morning as had a rubbish sleep & DS kept waking too. We've had a lazy morning so will get the housework organised soon. It's horrible & wet again so we haven't gotten into the garden.

DS made us laugh yesterday, I asked him if he wanted a banana & he replied "No, I want cake". :rotfl: His obsession with cake continues. :rotfl: This was only his second ever sentence after "Where my daddy". Can't believe how quickly he is picking words up now. :)

Both DH & I are working early shift tomorrow (6am start) so DS is staying with my mum again tonight. We'll take him down after dinner & he can have his bath there. So grateful my mum is nearby & happy to watch DS as much as she does, it makes life so much easier for us with our shifts.

Have done a few surveys and am about 200 points away from cash out on Youg0v. :T

Ordered some posh coffee for the rest of DH's Father’s Day present so just need to get the card.

Not having much luck with deliveries atm, was meant to get a toilet training seat (with rails and a step so it's easier for toddlers to get onto the big toilet) delivered on Saturday & it's still not arrived. I sent an email asking where it was on Sunday & basically got told to wait another 48-72 hours! Will be sending another email later, so irritating.

Will do the litter trays now whilst DS is busy playing with his baby doll & pushing the buggy around. He loves it & it keeps him occupied for ages but what a pain it was finding a doll's buggy that wasn't pink! Not that DS would have cared to be fair but I wanted a colourful one rather than pink or blue.

:rotfl: Beanie, DS has his priorities right - cake & cuddles. He keeps blowing kisses now as well, going "mwah" with big flamboyant hand gestures. :rotfl:

Got my housework done the other day & was at work again on Thursday which was fine.

Had another appointment with the midwife yesterday & all ok. Just got the extra scan on Monday to check measurements so hopefully that will all be fine. Then not back until mid July for a glucose tolerance test & another midwife appointment.

Used the full length body pillow last night in bed & it did help, so will use that now.

Felt like cooking yesterday so made a chicken curry, spiced Indian rice & chapatis. DS tried it all & really enjoyed it which was good as he's going through a bit of a fussy phase with food.

Did a bit of gardening last night after DS went to bed, topped up the maincrop potatoes with compost, they are pretty much ready to leave alone now. Our new potatoes are flowering so hopefully we'll get some soon.

Finally got the delivery I was waiting on, complained about it being nearly a week late & got a £5 gift voucher though which was quite good. :)

My older nephew is moving into a flat with his gf soon so have offered to buy them a dinner set as they don't have anything at all. I should have some spare glasses & mugs they could have too.

Our twin nieces are coming to stay with us again tonight, as DH said we might as well have them whilst they want to stay with us, they won't be interested in coming to stay in a couple of years.

Scan yesterday went reasonably well, the senior consultant sent one of his minions to do it so couldn't have been too concerned by the previous scan measurements.

The Dr who did the scan got measurements under what is considered the top end of average this time but he did say it's very variable & could be different every time we did it. He didn't seem too fussed as it was such a small difference but said he would double check with the senior consultant. Could be sent to another hospital for a more specialist scan but the Dr didn't think it was likely as everything else is looking absolutely fine with the baby.

The technology is amazing but no idea how they make half of the stuff out on the ultrasound. The Dr yesterday was zooming about & the baby was taking offence at being pushed around & kept kicking & punching back. :rotfl: Attitude problem already. :rotfl:

Had a good time with the twins at the weekend & they enjoyed helping in the garden, cooking & playing with DS. DS loves the company. :)

Still feeling so tired, not getting a good sleep at night.

My mum's cat has a really bad wound, looks like he was bitten by another cat & it festered. _pale_ She didn't see it under his fur for a couple of days as she was away. :( She took him to the vet & it was all down to the muscle, he might need an operation to close it up properly as it's still not looking good. Already cost £130 & if he needs the op it will be at least another £260.

My brother's dog is only 5 months & has suspected hip dysplasia, so he's in for x-rays today. It's like animal hospital in our family atm, my mum's dog is just old & getting doddery as well the poor wee soul. :(

Looking at buying a toddler bed for DS, saw one for £69 including the mattress which is a great price. Won't get one too soon as nowhere to put it yet but have bought a cot bed size duvet & pillow that he can use in his cot until we get a bed.

Have made some oaty banana muffins, added some sultanas & cinnamon which weren't in the recipe & think they were a good addition. :) DS definitely enjoyed his muffin anyway.

Also made cheese puffs whilst the oven was on - DS wasn't sure about them but I liked them and DH will eat them so won't go to waste.

Got a delivery of garden pots I'd ordered for my mum's birthday, just waiting for the plants I ordered and can get them potted up and take them down to her. I ordered more than I'll need as we can use the rest for our own garden.

I also ordered 2 collapsible crates to use when we get shopping delivered. We can get the stuff out of the supermarket crates into these ones & won't need plastic bags. They fold flat so will be easy to store when not needed. Might need another 1 or 2 but they were only £2.50 so that's fine.

My friend is coming to visit with her toddler & baby so I'll expect some fights over toys soon. :rotfl:

Well I'm getting sent for the more specialist scan next week. They keep saying everything is fine & not to worry but can't seem to decide if there is a problem or not. Can't help but worry about it. :( Never been to hospital so much in my life, think I was there a total of 4 times with DS, including when he was born!

Was at work yesterday & back Sat/Sun late shift so won't see much of DH this weekend. His shifts are still a nightmare for arranging childcare, don't know how much longer they are going to be all over the place while he route learns etc. He needs to get more time off next week as well to come to this extra scan which is a morning appointment.

No real plans for today, feeling very tired again but need to get some housework done.
