:rotfl: Beanie, I was very grumpy with all the noise & the heat, that song was the last straw. :rotfl:
Had a pretty lazy day today, it's been very humid but no sun. Tidied out the bathroom cabinet & threw out some old out of date stuff. Also organised things so similar things are together. It has been annoying me for ages so glad to get it done.
DS loves the medicine cabinet  It fascinates him & he shouts "Mey!" (his word for medicine) whenever we open it. Luckily it's well out of his reach.
Noticed that my old cat has been very grumpy recently, put it down to old age initially but now wondering if he's picking up on my crazy hormones. He is very much my companion cat & does seem to mirror my emotions a lot so maybe not as mad as it sounds. :rotfl: I think I need to chill out.
My brother & his gf dropped in with my younger nieces & DS was delighted to see them. He's currently obsessed with saying my niece's name who is closest in age to him (she's 10 months older) but all they seem to do is fight over things. She gets very grumpy with him & won't let him touch/play with anything & he just wants to cuddle her! Then he gets annoyed & pulls her hair.
Was a bit annoyed that the older niece (4) just went about trashing the place, i.e. opening bags & tipping them upside down/throwing all the toys out of the ball pit/toy boxes all over the floor. She then refuses to tidy it up & her mum (my brother's gf) doesn't make her. In the end I had to do it after they left  I would have appreciated at least a token effort! She's 4 & goes to nursery so knows better but is a bit of a madam atm.
Going down to see my mum for a wee while tomorrow, she wants my DH to put up some shelves & hanging baskets for her I think. I'll try & pot some more plants up for her whilst we're there too.
Redeemed another £5 am@zon voucher from SB & £10 m&s one from VO.
Forgot if I mentioned how my complaint about the delivery charge with ELC went? Well they were insistent that I phone & get the delivery charge refunded onto my card but I wanted it refunded the way I had paid, through payp@l. They kept refusing to do anything else so I opened a case with payp@l & explained that all I wanted was my £3 delivery refunded through them. ELC never responded so payp@l refunded me the whole amount of the order.:D:j Worth a couple of emails then. :TSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Have been quite lazy so far this morning, one washing in the machine & another waiting to go in. DS had another nappy leak overnight & had to strip his sheets so think we will try the size up & see if that helps. I'm not sure if it's the way he's lying though.
Have emptied the dishwasher, brushed my big cat to get some excess fur off him (he sheds so much, it's everywhere) & cut both cats claws.
Got my youg0v payment through today, that was quick. :j Not sure what to do with it, might send half to our house savings (for garage conversion) & half off the biggest car loan.
Need to claim back my last chiropractor visit from the work health scheme & pay that off my CC.
Used £10 survey money to pay a bit off the clothes I've bought due to being pregnant & too fat to fit into lots of my clothes. Found some good long length vests from Mr A online, 2 for £6 & just bought the size up from my usual. They also have quite a few reasonably priced maxi dresses which I have bought so that I have something comfortable (& stretchy) to wear over the summer.
DH bought the cats the water fountain I was looking at a while ago (I gave him one of my £5 survey vouchers towards it so it cost £20). I don't know if they're using it though, have yet to catch them drinking out of it. I saw big cat near it & he was shaking his paw to dry it so I think he'd stuck it in there. :rotfl:
Made french onion soup for dinner last night & DS loved it. I was quite surprised but he does like very strong flavours. We also discovered that he likes branston pickle over the weekend. :rotfl:
DH in a bit of a mood as he's feeling stressed at work & apparently I'm horrible to him. :rotfl: I think he's being a bit of a man-baby really because he thinks he's not getting enough attention.
MIL is coming to visit in August. I made sure we picked dates where she can help us out with childcare so we actually get some use out of her visit. :rotfl: It means there are 2 less days in August where I either need to ask my mum or sister to watch DS for a few hours or swap my shifts. DH just told her the dates rather than wait for her to dictate what suited her as usual. Fingers crossed she behaves as my tolerance levels will be very low by that point. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Well done on the refund
With your son’s nappies is it worth trying the ‘plus’ version of whatever size he’s in as they’re more absorbent and may be better for night use if he’s not leaking during the day?
Love the man-baby analysis of your DHwhat would the world be like if it was (some) men who had to deal with pregnancy :rotfl: When me & DH were in the same position I used to buy him the odd chocolate bar he liked as a small apology (whether I was actually sorry was another matter
) was usually enough of a gesture to stop him feeling neglected & keep the peace for a day or 2.
I actually think you deserve some brownie points from your DH for agreeing to your in-laws staying, you’re a better woman than me that’s for sure! X0 -
Hi Dancing, we have DS in 5+ nappies at night & size 6 pull ups during the day. Can't use the pull ups at night as, ironically, he pulls them down & pees everywhere.:rotfl: So size 6 nappies are the next port of call!
My DH is an only child so think the attention thing gets to him more as he was always used to his mum pandering to him a bit. :rotfl: He even complains that his mum isn't interested in him anymore, only our DS. :rotfl:
I wish my DH could experience pregnancy, maybe he'd be a bit more sympathetic sometimes rather than thinking I'm making excuses.
Got another washing on but the weather can't decide what it's doing so don't want to risk hanging out, so TD it is.
Chiropractor claim put through so one less thing to do.
Got out into the garden with DS & picked another courgette. :T Also tied the cucumber plants up to supports as they are getting big, can see some cucumbers appearing too. :T DS was helping himself to more ripe raspberries through the bird netting! How funny with the pull ups, size 6 nappies is definitely the way to go then :rotfl:0

Hi Beanie & Dancing. :hello:
DH is making beer battered courgette slices tonight Beanie.
Dancing, the size 6 nappies still leaked a bit at the top! I think it's because he's a real wriggler at night & never stays in one position when sleeping. Looking on the bright side, it wasn't a massive leak so still an improvement.
Today has been fairly lazy, a bit of washing & tidied some of DS's clothes that are too small into a storage bag rather than leaving them lying on the floor next to his chest of drawers.Obviously they haven't been there for a couple of weeks.
Witnessed old cat using the cat water fountain :T & big cat sniffing it suspiciously but not yet drinking from it.
Picked some raspberries in the garden, helped by DS, although he ate all of his. :rotfl:
A couple of online orders arrived so now have a spare duvet & pillow made up in DS's wardrobe in case of accidents. :T Thanks for the idea Dancing.
I had ordered a t-shirt for my youngest niece as part of her birthday next month but it has arrived with a small hole in it. Bit of a pain to return it when it only cost £1.80 in the sale.Don't know if they will have it in stock in the shop to just do a straight swap but maybe worth a look.
Need to look for a small present for my cousin's baby as DS is going to her 1st birthday party a week on Saturday. I've negotiated with DH to pick my mum up & drop her & DS at the party as I'm working early shift & DH won't take him on his own. My mum was going anyway as my cousin is her sister's daughter & she was happy to watch DS. I can pick them up on my way back from work/drop in & show my face.
I think I'll get a "That's not my..." board book as DS loved his, especially the puppy one - so much that it's fallen apart & I've had to sellotape some of it. Debating on whether to get any clothes as she probably has loads!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Happy to help
at least the size 6's were an improvement too.
Sounds like you've had a relaxing day, I'm another fan of the 'That's Not My...' books, never met a child who wasn't happy to have one0 -
