I started HRT on 19th and haven't had any issues since...wish doctor had listened 18 months ago
Glad the running and weight loss is going well. Im yo-yoing the same 4lb for last 6 months 🤣
My husband has recently had 3 tattoos and my son is now having one. I've 3 that I had when I was a teenager and thinking about another but nothing particular in mind yet2 -
Thanks all, weight has been plateauing for months but started going down again randomly over the last month or so. I have noticed my shape changing more than the weight though. When I lose the last 2lbs that will be a full 2 stone lost since May 2023 so quite a difference, just need to sort the prolapse and incontinence issues now. If I could find a magic money tree I would also sort out the veins on my legs!
Glad to hear the HRT has helped crazycatlady2 but it's awful how doctors don't seem to listen, especially regarding HRT. Slightly dreading perimenopause/menopause due to this, also hoping it won't make my prolapse worse.
Regarding the tattoos I thought about my first one for months and knew exactly what I wanted and thought if it went well I might want another. Didn't expect to be planning my second within weeks of the first 😂 maybe it will be so painful on my side/ribs that I won't want any more. I'm going to wait another month but am pretty sure I'm going to get it done.
Went for a facial the other week as my jaw line keeps randomly breaking out - more evidence of hormonal changes I think. 😞 I also think I've been using too many products so have cut right back and only using acids twice a week and retinal once a week alongside my cleansers, vitamin c serum, eye serum and moisturiser. I think the facial really helped so will go back in 6 weeks or so and might even treat myself to a back massage. I once fell asleep getting a hot stone back massage from the same lady 😂 woke myself up snoring. 😳Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. I don't think acids are kind to our skin. I only use once a week at most.

The kids finished school and nursery last week for the summer and I'm already counting down the days until they go back! 😂 I do like not having to do the school run but I miss the routine and the peace. I just hear "Mum, mummy, mum, muuuuuuum, muuuuuuuumy, MUM" all day long, usually followed by "I'm HUNGRY" 5 seconds after eating for the 50 billionth time that day. 😣
DD did really well at her nursery leavers concert, she knew all the words to the song they sang, was very confident on the stage and was doing the dance moves. I was crying as soon as the kids came in! I was also crying on her last day at nursery as I'll miss the nursery teachers! 😂 Probably also crying as it's the end of that part of our lives, no more little kids going to nursery from this house!
I have booked DD's birthday party at soft play for October, it's going to cost about £450 all in which is shocking 😮 we have £300 saved up as have been putting £50 away from each pay towards it. The cost covers 30 kids at soft play for 2 hours plus a buffet and party bags so we will need to get a cake & invitations sorted as well. DS had his 6th birthday at soft play with his class from school so we wanted to do one full class party for DD and she will be 5. No more big parties now for either of them! Have paid £100 deposit so the balance will be paid on the day of the party and we will easily have saved it by then.
And spent yet more money today because I had to take Old cat to the vets as he pulled his full claw out the other week when he fell climbing and tried to save himself - it has been bleeding on and off. It looked really red as he keeps grooming it and the vet has said it looks infected so he has antibiotics, pain relief and a cone of shame. Spent £77 at the vets and £15 online for a soft cone so he is more comfortable than with the big hard plastic lampshade.
He's still not happy but has accepted the soft cone and took his antibiotic tablet no problem, just let me pop it in his mouth and swallowed it. He was so chilled with the vet as well, even when she rudely called him a chunk 😂 he is a bit podgy for a Siamese but he's old so he's allowed! Going back again in a week so fingers crossed his wee toe is less swollen as there were also mutterings about an x-ray and potential toe amputation! 😧 Poor old boy was shouting in the car all the way to the vets and DS was sitting in the back next to him trying to calm him down then complaining that the meowing was hurting his ears. Funnily enough he was very quiet in the vets, just one annoyed meow and then not a peep, the vet was saying she was surprised she didn't hear him shouting loudly about wanting to see the manager whilst we were waiting. 😂Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks beanie, yes I think I was overloading my skin using retinal 3 times a week and acids in between. When I use the salicylic acid now I just use it around my jaw line where I've been getting breakouts and only do that once a week, then use glycolic acid all over once a week and retinal once as well. My skin seems to be getting better but will see how it goes. I have been using more hydrating face mist and that definitely seems to be helping as well.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Old cat has accepted that the cone of shame is staying on for a while but he is still a bit depressed. 😞 He has been taking his antibiotics brilliantly so hopefully his paw is healing up properly now. Next vet appointment is on Monday morning so I hope he can have the cone of shame off then.
I went and got my hair cut yesterday so that it's tidy for my 40th birthday party next week, it looks much better now it's been thinned out. Having a garden party and it will mostly consist of my elderly relatives and cousins with small children. 😂 A bit disappointed that most of my friends don't appear to be coming 😔. I feel like it's always me that has to make the effort or I don't see them because they just can't be bothered. I think this is why I want to make some more friends, probably just be in the same situation though tbh, most people seem quite anti-social now.
I have one more day at work then I'm off for 10 days so hopefully I can get the house scrubbed clean and ready for visitors. Today I have hoovered, done several washings and de-furred the couches.
My ankle was quite puffy and a bit sore the other day so the physio focused on that plus my knee and has given me some strengthening exercises for both as well as my hip/thigh issue. Won't be able to go for a run until Tuesday morning anyway now so hopefully my ankle will be ok by then.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. I had some friends like that, and I just gradually dropped them. There's no malice, and I'd still speak to them if I saw them now, it's just our lives went in different directions. But it's no fun being the one to make the effort all the time. Equally though, I've been the one who has probably been dropped for not making an effort.
I agree though, a lot of people don't seem to go out in the same way these days (and I count myself in that!).

I’ve got lots to do today for the party tomorrow so of course I’m lounging in bed with a cup of tea. 🤣 I’ll get up soon and do some yoga then start getting organised.
The main things to do are helping DH put up the gazebo in the garden, taking a pile of stuff to the dump, cleaning & tidying the living room and downstairs toilet and cleaning the floors. Oh and making a couple of batches of fairy cakes. We also need to collect extra chairs from my mum.
Old cat had the cone of shame removed on Wednesday night. His toe was much better on Monday but the vet said keep the cone on until the end of the week. He was so depressed though that we took it off a bit early and he’s back to his usual shouty self now. He just strolled into my room and shouted at me to get up. 😂I have booked in for my second tattoo next month. Bit scared it’s going to be sore because it’s going on my ribs but hopefully I can manage it, it’s a full day session. 😱 No more after that as I can’t afford it. 😂
DH has been signed off work with bad IBS like symptoms. Don’t really know what’s causing it but hopefully it resolves itself soon. He has had some tests done just in case.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780.
