Thanks Beanie, looking forward to York, we go tomorrow, just need to travel through to Edinburgh to catch the train down.
DS’s party went well as he had a great time. Everyone who had said they would come appeared apart from one child and two kids whose parents didn’t reply turned up. The balance of the party to be paid came to £93 so that wasn’t as high as we’d thought. We had money left over so put some into the new carpet savings, Christmas savings & DH put some towards his new desk. The most stressful part of the party was when one of the girls started pulling the others’ hair towards the end so there were lots of crying little girls at one point. 🤦🏻♀️ DD also got her hair pulled and was so distressed that DH had to climb up inside the soft play to rescue her. 🙁
DS got so many presents and got some money as well so he was delighted.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.5 -

Thanks all, we had a lovely time away and really enjoyed having time together without the kids. 💕
I did get a bit carried away and drank too much one night so was very ill, sick and everything. 😢 First time I have drunk so much in years, mixed my drinks too much and I can’t handle it anymore.
Won’t be doing that again though as it took about 4 days to get over it and it’s not worth it. DH is obviously a hardened alcoholic as he was fine. I think the freedom went to my head. 🙀🤣
We both had a bit of the blues when we came back as it’s the first time we’ve been away in years. We wished we’d had at least one more night. We’re going to try and get a night away again later in the year for more alone time and want to take the kids away next year for a short holiday too. Will have to save a lot though as we all need passports (both DH & I have expired ones and the kids don’t have any).
I’m glad we did the trip overall as it confirmed that we do still like each other and have things to talk about apart from the kids! 😆Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Glad you enjoyed it apart from being sick. I think once you’ve had kids your alcohol tolerance completely disappears. I remember one year we went to Greece when my kids were pre teens and I was so sick one night after drinking shots 😬 They were really worried about me and thought I was going to die 😆 I felt so rough the next day it so wasn’t worth it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
