Thanks all, yes SA my alcohol tolerance is so low since having the kids. I usually only have a couple of drinks at a time now and never mix so no wonder I was ill as we had cocktails, beer & gin! Lesson learned not to get carried away next time. 😂

We’re thinking of just having a wee overnight in Edinburgh later in the year as it’s not too far and we can have a full day & night there. Will need to start saving though.

Kids are driving me mad already and the school holidays don’t start until Wednesday this week. 😭 This weekend has been a mixture of the kids arguing/hitting each other and asking for something to eat every 5 minutes. 🙄 I fear for my sanity and their lives over the 6 weeks of the holidays.

DS has 2 teachers (1 class teacher & 1 play specialist) so he has given them a card each and a Lego superhero keyring each to say thank you for all their help this year.

DD will have the same nursery teachers next year so I’m just going to get them some teabags, coffee bags & biscuits/chocolate for the staff room. Not that I think the nursery staff get much chance to sit down!

The house is a tip, DH is on his third day of seven days in a row at work and I have lots to do but just can’t be bothered. 🫤

Hoping to get the gloss painting done in DD’s room this week and then move onto our room.

Once all the gloss is done we can look at colours & pricing paint up for the stairway/upstairs hall, our room and both kids’ rooms.

If we could do all of that by Christmas I would be happy, then we could look at pricing up carpet for the stairs and all the upstairs rooms at the start of next year. I think it will take a while to save for the carpet but the one we have has been down since we moved in (so 9 years now) and is past its best.

I have quite a lot of the kids stuff to put onto v!nted. Took some photos yesterday (only about half of the stuff) and have added most of the cloth nappy stuff on as well. If it doesn’t sell it can go to charity.

I tidied the kids bookcase yesterday and took out a lot of the babyish books but don’t know what to do with them now. Nowhere seems to want kids books anymore.

I have also cleaned up the buggy and will email the local charity I used before for the cot & toddler bed to see if they want it. I also have the rain cover & cosy toes but the zip has broken on the cosy toes so not sure it would be any use. It’s annoying as it’s in great condition otherwise.

Hopefully all of that will clear up some space.

If I could just convince DD to use the toilet as well that would be one less stress for us. She needs size 8 pull ups and they cost a fortune. She is now holding her pee then flooding the nappy so I think she could use the potty but just doesn’t want to! Seriously considering bribery and offering a sweet for every time she sits on the potty. She is so stubborn though so the more I want her to do something the more she wants to resist.

The charity may also take the kids books.
If we were nearer I would take them for the charity shop.

I think the nursery holidays could be a fab time for the potty training.
You could do a wee reward chart for her  :)

My workplace support a food bank that also accepts children’s books so might be worth checking if there’s anything similar locally.

Would the nursery want the books?  I used to donate stuff to ours, they were always grateful as the books had a lot of rough handling.

I did bribery with my DD, she just wasn't interested.  I let her choose the reward and then she had a focus.  She is very reward orientated though!

Thanks all, I definitely think we might need to have some sort of reward based system to get DD to agree to use the potty. She is a very strong personality so she has to want to do it. I offered her a sweet to sit on the potty and she was trying to haggle it up to 2!

The charity are happy to take the pram and accessories so I'm dropping it off at the end of the week. I also have some clothes & jackets of DD's that are too small but are in good condition and will offer the books as well.

Today I have hoovered the couches to remove the cat hair and then hoovered upstairs. Also cleaned the bathrooms and did my usual washing - put one away and hung one up.

The kids finished school for the holidays today so were home by half 1 and driving me mad by half 2. 😂 I have put most of DS's clean uniform into a bag for charity already as he has outgrown it and saved the logo jumpers for DD to use in 2 years' time. I have moved her outgrown nursery jumpers out of her room as well and made a list of what we need to get them both for going back in August.

All of my cloth nappy stuff was removed from v!nted 😠 so will have to leave it for now and try adding it again in a month or so. I have sold one bundle of summer dresses and still have a lot of things to photograph and add.

Thanks Beanie, will have to try and get organised and get the kids out every day, even if it's just for a walk. When they start getting stir crazy then they start wrestling which always ends up with someone hurt and crying.

Forgot to mention that I'm pretty much managing to stick to the intermittent fasting on 14/10 and have lost 6lbs since the end of May. Quite pleased with that but I still need to eat better (much more fruit & veg - my lack of both is shocking considering I have them in for the kids) and start walking more.

My mum is keeping the kids overnight on Thursday, DH is working late shift and I'm going to see my friends. 😊 I can have a decent sleep and lie in a bit the next day as well which will be lovely. I won't be drinking with my friends as I usually drive so no need to worry about a hangover either. 😂

Looking at the CC debt - my biggest balance on 0% runs out in March next year and it won't be paid off by then, I'm not sure whether to try switching it now. 🤔 My smallest balance 0% runs out next June and it will be gone by then as I'm concentrating my overpayments on it. DH's not-so-secret-now-CC is on 0% until Sept 2024 so we can leave it ticking over for now.

    Enjoy your friend time  :)

    I would try fixing now.

How long left on the garage conversion loan?
when it finishes you could maybe pay more to one of the cards?
You are doing so well  :)
