  • Well done on surviving the outlaws, I think I'd be removing the bed from, and/or totally repurposing the room they stay in to prevent future stays!

You're sounding more on top of the finances at the moment too, great to be below 1k on the smallest credit card and those 4 payments on the loan will fly by.

Your DS has a better social life than me 🤣 I'm sure there'll be plenty of party guests still to respond, some people just take ages to reply or turn up without replying, me on the other hand I answer as soon as I take the invitation out of the boys bags 🙈

Pleased you feel reassured after the appointments x

Thanks Beanie, the pelvic floor is in the same area as the bladder & bowel so that makes sense. I struggle with eating sensibly due to the shift work and general laziness so just need to make more of an effort and move more.

Thanks Dancing, we already tried getting rid of the room they stayed in - now they stay at a pub that has rooms attached about a 10 minute walk away. 😩 They make DH pick them up every morning so they don't have to walk up the hill! FIL has a dodgy back but he can walk when he's headed to a pub, just moans at any other time. 🙄

We still have the smallest room spare and it has a daybed in it that pulls out to a double for my mum when she stays over to watch the kids. Thankfully it would be too small for 2 people to share that room though!

I have a feeling that the outlaws will start pulling the "we're too old to travel" card soon and want DH to go down to visit them. I very much doubt he would go on his own and DD & I aren't invited although DS is. 😂

We're definitely coping better with the money and staying out of the OD but probably could be doing more to pay off the debt. I'm conscious though of not going too hard as it could send DH into a spending spree.

DS definitely has a better social life than most adults I know 😂 I also answer invitations straight away/within a day as I would forget otherwise. I'm assuming some people will either answer this week or not at all and just turn up. Luckily we will only be charged the remainder of the balance for the number of kids who attend.

I have started logging what I'm eating and it's making me think a bit more before I randomly eat biscuits. 👀 I managed to stay within my calorie limit yesterday which is good and have started intermittent fasting again. I'm aiming for a 14 hour fast which means stopping eating by 8pm. That is sometimes difficult though due to my shifts so will see how it goes.

Got hardly anything done yesterday apart from 2 washings hung out and put away and then spent the rest of the day basically feeding the kids! All they want to do is eat! DS is also obsessing over his switch so is getting to play it in the mornings then not again all day. He would quite happily sit for hours on it, I think I need to get some more educational apps or games for the ipad and then at least he would be learning something.

I did manage to do the exercises the physio gave me yesterday and today plus some of a core restoring routine. I have also joined a walking challenge to walk 100 miles over the summer, hoping it will get me moving a bit more and get the kids out over the summer holidays as well.

I need to do some housework as the place is a disaster zone with the kids home all day but I can't get 5 mins peace as all I hear is mummy, mummy, mummy. They want me to look at what they're doing/feed them/fix something/peel stickers/get out the paint sticks/crayons whatever.  I don't think I'll survive summer actually. 😭

Have had a busy week getting things organised as it was DS's 6th birthday. DH made him a lemon birthday cake with jelly tots on top, it was very tasty. DS was so excited and loved his star wars lego, he even let DD open a present as she was crying because it wasn't her birthday. 😂 She is insisting she wants a unicorn party and cake but doesn't understand it's still 4 months until her birthday. She cheered up after getting to open a present anyway.

I made chicken fajitas for dinner on DS's birthday and he ate 2 mini wraps with the fajita chicken but refused to have the onions, peppers or black eyed beans. DD tried it all and really enjoyed the vegetables. 👍

I have been sticking to my calorie limit and doing 14 hour fasts every day, sometimes I've had to start my fast later than 8pm but it just means I don't eat until later the following day. I weighed myself on Tuesday and have lost 2lbs so hopefully what I'm doing is having some effect. I have also been keeping up with my physio exercises most days as well.

I have got 3 washings out on the line so far today and another in the machine. I also put a lot of my heavier/winter clothes away and got my summer things out. I went through everything and have got a full bin bag of clothes to go to charity/recycling plus a full bin bag of clothes hangers. I need some more vest tops but not much else as I have more dresses than I thought.

DH is working late shift today so my mum is coming with me and the kids to the school family fun night later. There are inflatables and lots of games, snacks and glitter tattoos etc plus we all get a burger or hotdog and a soft drink included in our ticket. Hopefully the kids will enjoy it and not be too exhausted.

DD has been hitting less at nursery but scratched my face quite badly this morning so I look delightful atm. 😂

I've read all the way through your diary and it's been lovely 'seeing' the kids grow up :)  I don't know how you cope with your outlaws, you must have patience of a saint not to have told them where to go.

    Happy birthday to DS.

Thanks all, DS had a great birthday and is looking forward to his party this week. I have heard back from half his class saying they’re coming but half just haven’t bothered replying. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Assume most will turn up on the day but who knows!

Hi @jwil 👋🏻 nice to “see” you, I lurk along on your diary 😂 With the outlaws I just try to avoid interacting with them as much as possible!

They are never going to accept me, it’s been 20 years and I’m not going to beg them to have a relationship with me so I am bare minimum polite when I see them now. Thankfully it’s not often.

Today I have done the first coat of gloss on mine & DD’s bedroom doors plus the door frames & skirting in between.

I don’t think I’m going to have enough gloss to do all of the second coat so will need to look at buying more. That will be the upstairs hallway glossing done although will still need to do inside DD’s & our room too.

Have got one washing done, hung out & dried and have my mattress & pillow protectors out on the line along with the bedding.

I also cleaned & tidied the cutlery drawer as it kept jamming. I have moved all the kids medicine spoons & syringes into the bathroom where the medicine is kept.

DH made pancakes for breakfast so the kids were happy. 😁 So was I to be honest. 😂
