Thanks all, certainly not looking forward to the outlaws visit, DH also dreading it and they're his parents!! Luckily for me I'm working early shift on the Fri/Sat so will only have to spend one full day with them. Pretty sure DH will be demented by the Sunday.
DS has struggled a lot with learning to read & write at school and his numbers aren't brilliant either. 😞 His teacher has worked really hard with him and he can write all his letters and sound them out now but still working on actually reading and is still on the very basic reading books. He is really trying hard though so hopefully his teacher next year will be as good. 🤞
Yesterday 3 of the new dresses I ordered arrived but 2 of them didn't fit so had to be sent back. One was a maxi dress that was so long I was tripping when I tried to walk 😂 and I'm 5"5 so not tiny and the other fitted everywhere except the bust where it was gaping! So not the best and will probably be waiting a while for a refund.
Debating ordering another dress I've seen online but again unsure of sizing as I'm 12/14 on top and 14 on the bottom so sometimes the size 14 is too big on my top half and a size 12 is too tight on the bottom half.
I managed to empty out the pantry cupboard, I hoovered the floor and re-arranged the storage in the bottom half so that the big hoover and floor cleaner can sit in there without being rammed in. Also got rid of a few ood date things and found half a bag of dried black eyed beans so am soaking them then will cook and freeze, they're good for going into enchiladas and chilli.
Also realised how much loose leaf tea I have in there 🙊 so am now going to try and make at least one pot of loose leaf a day to try and use some of it up. I had some pomegranate tea yesterday and a flavoured black tea this morning, will get there eventually.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. So far today I have hung out a white washing, mainly the kids polo shirts for school and nursery and DH's work shirts. I have stripped the kids bedding so that's in the wm just now and will put another washing of DS's stuff on after that. It's lovely and sunny so hopefully can get quite a few washings out and dried today.
Hoping to get out and tidy the greenhouse so that I can move my cucumber and tomato seedlings out there. I think I have too many tomato plants so will give my mum a couple. My flower seedlings are mostly self seeded calendula outside so have been braving the cold and most are looking good so far. I did plant a few marigolds and some candy tuft so will have to see how they're getting on.
DD is constantly hassling me for food and DS wants me to help him every time he gets stuck on his switch game (as though I know what to do 😂).
Working late shift tomorrow but then off until Friday which is just as well as have constant kid running around to do this week. Mon it's DS's swimming lesson with my mum watching DD as DH working, Tues it's sports day for DS then parent's appt for DD and on Wed it's dental check up for me & the kids after school, will probably take them to the library as well as it's next to the dentist.
Also waiting to hear back on numbers for DS's party as he handed out the invitations at school yesterday. Have 4 confirmed so far out of 22 from school and my 2 nieces, great nephew & cousin's DD to hear from as well (although have a provisional yes from all). If everyone accepts we will have to pay for an extra 3 places.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Managed to clean out the greenhouse and re-pot most of my tomatoes & all of the cucumbers.Definitely have too many tomato plants so going to give my mum 4 if she wants them. Still leaves me with 6. 👍🏻
Also repotted my one remaining aloe Vera and it had 5 baby plants so repotted them as well.
Two washings out, dried & put away, three out on the lines and one more in the machine now.Lovely day so we have been out in the garden most of the time. DS very grumpy and refusing to wear shorts, sitting in the shade with his hoody on. 🤣 He’s definitely my child. 😂Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Sizing nowadays is shocking, I’m anywhere between a 6 and 10 depending on the shop and fit. Clothes seem to be getting longer too so not surprised the dress was too long for you. One of my friends is tall and has been moaning about jeans being too long for her.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

You're right SA the sizing is bonkers, I now have to order a short length for jeans in MnS, used to be a regular. 🤷♀️ I don't think 5"5 is particularly short. 🤔
I couldn't believe how long that maxi dress was on me but then again I have had problems with the length of other maxis, midi dresses are usually a better bet although they sometimes end up as maxi length on me. 😂
Managed to get some sun burn yesterday in the garden, I didn't feel it at all until we went inside. I can usually tell when I need to move into the shade but not this time. 😣 Luckily DS was in the shade most of the time and DD went and got her own sun cream from her nursery bag and put it on! She was lathering herself in it so I actually had to take it off her. 😂 Still didn't think to put my own on. 🤦♀️ DH also got a bit burnt and he hardly ever burns.
Have made brownies and blondies this morning so taking half into work and leaving half at home. DD was so excited eating a brownie and kept saying "Thank you mummy, it's delicious!" 😂 She can be nice when she wants to be.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Have managed to gloss another door and stretch of skirting upstairs over the last 2 days, which leaves another 5 doors and the skirting in between. Will get there eventually, will do 1 or possibly 2 more doors tomorrow.
Got another 2 washings out and dried on the line today as it was sunny & windy then hoovered the stairs.
DD is being an absolute devil at nursery, I had to sign 3 pages of incidents at pick up today. 😩 She has been attacking numerous other children, nothing seems to stop her lashing out.
DD's parent appointment at nursery was fine, they said she is very musical and loves anything to do with music (very true) and has a great pincer grip for her age, holding pens/pencils properly when drawing (she loves to draw and paint). Also said she already knows her shapes and colours and can count reliably up to 9. She can also recognise her name written down and loves looking at books and listening to stories.
So she is a smart cookie but the hitting is a big problem atm. They are obviously keen to sort it out but are very reassuring that it's just a phase, they want to encourage her to talk about her feelings more to see if we can nip it in the bud. They also mentioned her stubbornness. 😂
DS had his sports day today and seemed ok with it after several days of me preparing him and letting him know he had to wear his tracksuit and trainers to school. He did ok but didn't seem particularly bothered when competing. 😂
Looking at buying cat biscuits as have just refilled the cat biscuit machine with the last of a 10kg bag, it has lasted 6 months. I paid £44 last November for it and the current price is £73 for the same size. 😱 Have seen a deal for 2 10kg bags for £101, that amount would last a year so seriously considering buying it.

I read somewhere that the price of cat food is going up faster than anything else.DD will grow out of the violent stage. My GS was the same and he’s fine now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Thanks both, we’ve had a few days of no hitting at nursery so hopefully that continues.
I bought the cat biscuits, it was actually £112 for 2 10kg bags. I was looking at the wrong price. 🤪 I might have to raid some of the money from the cat insurance savings but that amount will last at least a year.
Got two more doors and some skirting painted in the upstairs hallway, only 3 more doors and more skirting to do then the gloss in the hall will be done. The outlaws will be at my house when I get home from work today. 🙄 Poor DH dealing with them alone today as the kids are at school & nursery.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
