Got lots of washing done, hung out and dried yesterday as it was sunny and windy. I tidied the kitchen coat cupboard of doom a bit and pulled out the jackets that are too small for the kids or will be by the time they're worn again. I also moved a couple of  DH's jackets upstairs and identified a couple of mine for a charity donation.

The garden fleeces, the fleecy zip in lining of DH's work waterproof and a couple of scarves were also washed and hung out. The cupboard is still messy but still better than it was.

I have a small pile of things to add to v!nted so will try and do that in the next few days. Used some of the money I made on there to buy a couple of hoodies for DS as he loves them and he has a couple that are getting too small.

Also finally used up some pork shoulder steaks from the freezer (been in there for months) by putting them in the ninja and making pulled pork. I also used up some black eyed beans & sweetcorn from the freezer as I made enchiladas with the pulled pork. The kids ate some of it, DD more than DS, he was sitting picking out the sweetcorn and mostly ate the wrap and sour cream. 🤦‍♀️

It was my nephew's engagement party last night but I just couldn't face going as I would have to get myself looking half decent (takes a while) plus would be running about after the kids the whole night. DH was up at 3am yesterday and today for work so he wasn't able to go.

I went out with my friends for dinner the other night and it was really nice, cost £23 each so not too spendy either. We had big sharing starters instead of mains and then had desserts along with strawberry daiquiri mocktails so we could drive there and back.

I car shared with the friend who lives in the same housing estate and she also gave me another 2 bags of her DD's outgrown clothes for my DD. There were 2 wetsuit style swimming costumes in there which is great as DD needs one in the size up, they keep her warmer in the pool so prefer them to normal swimsuits.

So far today all I've done is hang out a washing since it's sunny again, will try to get the towel wash on as well. DS has made me promise to make fairy cakes later as well.

Going to try to do some more paint stripping on the bannister as we want to get it finished before the outlaws descend next month. 🙄

Thanks Beanie, I have days where I get lots done and days where I get nothing done.

Today I have done 2 washings, had to hang them up indoors though as there has been showers all day.

I gave the bathroom sinks and toilets a clean and did an hour of paint stripping on the bannister. It feels never ending! So fiddly on the spindles and trying not to burn the stair carpet as well. 😩

We do need to replace the carpet on the stairs & the upstairs hallway, in fact all of the carpets upstairs need replacing really. Next year we’ll have been in this house for 10 years! So that will need to be our next longer term home improvement saving project.

I cashed out £20 survey vouchers and ordered a Lego set for part of DS’s birthday. With the vouchers it cost £11.99 which will come from the birthday pot. DH saw a Lego monster truck with a good discount so we also ordered that, it cost £10.

I think we’ll probably get him another small Lego set and possibly a switch game and that’s enough.

So my car is going to cost more money 😩 low tyre pressure warning popped up and sure enough there's a nail in the tyre. Should be repairable, so fingers crossed it is, taking it to the tyre place tomorrow. Then heading to a different garage to get a quote to fix the scrapes & dent from my brush with an RM delivery van. 😖 Hoping it won't be too high.

DH wants a new pressure washer and said he'd pay half out of his money - however he wants one that costs £170 and we currently have £20 in the house pot. 😂 Told him no as we can't afford it and now he's grumbling about it. This is why we are in debt, he's not quite getting it. 😐 He also wants to buy slabs and mix to add a couple underneath his shed (don't know why he didn't do that when he bought the shed  🤷‍♀️) and bark to top up underneath the hedge and again getting offended that we can't afford it.

He was doing so well and now the wants are piling up, although naturally he sees them as needs. 🙄 I don't think he'll spend the money without me agreeing but it wouldn't be the first time I've said no and he just went on his merry way and did what he wanted anyway.

It was a lovely sunny day today but still a chilly wind. I got 3 washings out, dried and put away. Hoping tomorrow will be the same so I can do another 3 washings!

What a pain about the car tyre and also the RM van 🙁

Your DH sounds so much like Mr SA when he was younger 😬

Aren't you having to find money to pay off his hidden credit card or am I thinking of someone else?  Point out if you did not have to deal with that you would have more money.  I am afraid that many are like your DH.  Mine has got more financially savvy as he has got older but I recognise the pester for wants and not needs. It is annoying to always be the grown up and say no though so I feel for you.

Thanks SA & enthusiasticsaver, DH did get the pressure washer but with his own money. He is a lot better than he used to be.

He spent all afternoon yesterday pressure washing the patio and it looks so much better. Going to do the driveway next week hopefully.

Whilst doing the side path our next door neighbour stopped him to ask if we needed any slabs as he had 5 leftover. DH said yes so now he has enough slabs to do the bit under his shed and will just need to buy the mix to secure them. 👍🏻 Saves us about £50 and the neighbours get rid of them so win-win.

We also took all the bags of rubbish and some broken garden toys to the tip.

We have ordered a new slide/garden tower for the kids, we’re going to use some of their savings for it as the money was a gift to them and the bulk of their money is either in an ISA or premium bonds so it won’t be spent.

I have managed to get 2-3 washings washed, dried & put away every day this week as it’s been dry, sunny & windy. It’s meant to be freezing again next week though. 🫤

In good news my tyre was repairable so it only cost £15. In bad news the quote for the scrape/dent repair was just under £600! 😱 Don’t think I’ll be paying that for a 10 year old car. DH thinks if we can borrow a buffer we should be able to sort the scrapes as it’s not gone right through the paint. The dent will just have to stay!

Got a good amount of cleaning done today before work - did the kitchen, the bathrooms and the big cat litter clean. Also stuck the dishwasher and robot vacuum on.

Working 5 late shifts in a row now and DH on night shift 2 nights, off for 1 then on early shift for 4. Will be sorting the kids out every morning for the foreseeable.

Late shift 4 today, will definitely be feeling it by Wednesday but at least will have 4 days off and the kids are at school/nursery for 3 of them. Doing minimum housework atm just washings really so that I'm not drowning in it by mid week.

Dropped the car seats at my mum's after school run as DH will collect them from there after work. My mum is going to get the kids from school and take them home on the bus which they love and then feed them. DS might miss his swimming lesson tonight as DH is working later, my mum doesn't drive and the swimming pool is in the next town so a pain with buses and both kids.

The kids have been waking up every night I've been working, particularly DD, they do struggle when I'm working late shifts as don't see much of me. The first night DD woke up crying for me about 1am, my mum had put her to bed that night and said she was crying for me and took a while to settle. 😞  So she was in bed with us for an hour or 2. The second night DD was in bed with us for an hour then not long after I settled her back in her bed DS woke up crying so I ended up in with him for a couple of hours, luckily he went back to sleep as soon as I got in with him. Then last night DD woke up crying again as her nappy had leaked and the bed was wet so I had the joy of changing sheets and DD at 4am. She was then in bed with us for half an hour, beeping our noses & chatting 😂 until I got her back into her own bed. Hoping for a full night's sleep tonight.

I need to buy DS another pair of trainers as his feet just keep growing and noticed that his joggers are starting to look a bit short too. 🤦‍♀️ Might try to get out to one of the discount stores to see if they have anything to suit.

My mum is going with DD on her nursery trip this week, they are going to a play park place with animals etc. DD will love it, hope my mum will cope with her. 😱
