Money wise, DH & I have now applied to open another joint account that we will use for bill payments. We will just transfer the money into it each payday once we have all the DD's set up and then will have a better idea of what is left over for food, debt and our separate allowances.

March was the month that we got 2 pays so we should have a decent amount left over, we have topped up DS's birthday party pot and the car pot by £100 each. We're going to wait until the majority of the bills are out this month before we decide what to do with the rest of the money but hoping to put at least £250 into the emergency fund and pay a decent amount off the smaller car loan.

I have hung out another washing and put DS's sheets into wash as he decided it would be a good idea not to clean his butt properly before sitting on his bed. 🤢

I finally did DD's maths challenges from nursery (4 or 5 weeks worth 😳) like find a pattern, look at different coins and sort them by shape and size, find 2 and 3d shapes around the house etc. Took photos and submitted them to her nursery portfolio.

Totally empathise with the sitting on the bed having not cleaned his butt, Mr SA does that too 🤢 At least your DS is young enough to be excused.

Thanks all, I just kept going today and got loads done. I cleaned the insides of all the windows downstairs and the patio doors, dusted the blinds, did the big cat litter clean, cleaned the worktops and hob and cleaned all the sinks and toilets as well. Also set the robot vacuum going whilst I was cleaning.

Took ages as I had to keep stopping to feed the kids and/or separate them as they kept bickering.

When DH got home from work I did about an hour’s worth of paint stripping on the bannister then hoovered all the mess of that up. DH sorted the kids dinner & started running their bath whilst I got the 2 loads of washing in from the line. It was about 80% dry so just hung up on the airer and clothes horse to finish off.

My back is complaining after all that so probably just as well that I’m working tomorrow and won’t have time to get carried away with cleaning.

Oh no SA, that’s not good. DS puts off going to the toilet as he’s too busy with whatever he’s doing then has an accident and doesn’t always clean up properly. He has also been putting his dirty boxers into the bathroom bins instead of telling me! 😱 I found another 2 pairs today which was lovely. 😭

I think nursery is trying to get the kids engaged in STEM subjects early! It actually wasn’t too much work once I got myself organised & DD enjoyed posing for her photos. 😂 I even let the kids play with my button jar which they love and I don’t let them into it often. 😂

The weather was great for getting washing dry today as it was sunny and windy - I got 3 washings out and dried. The 2 loads of clothes have been put away and I'll fold the towels tomorrow. Hoping for more of the same weather tomorrow as want to get the beds stripped and hang the sheets out.

I have a few cucumber and tomato seedlings showing their faces now on the bathroom windowsill but I don't think it's been warm enough for the peppers and chillies so might need to dig the heated propagator out.

I also need to hoover the couches again tomorrow and turn the cushions as it's quicker to do if I do it weekly as less cat hair has accumulated!

The kids are continually fighting and poor DS has loads of scratches on his face from DD, he does torment her though and she has no impulse control at 3yo so just flies at him.

We spent some of the afternoon at my mum's then she watched DD and I took DS for his swimming lesson as DH working. The swimming lessons were really quiet as a lot of people must be on holiday or just not bothering. The sessions are pre paid so you still lose a lesson if you don't turn up, we've been lucky that we've not needed to miss any so far.

I have reserved another Mr M TGTG groceries bag for tomorrow night to see if there is much difference in the contents. Fingers crossed we will get some useful stuff for the kids endless snacking. I'll have to take the kids with me to pick it up but they came last time and were surprisingly well behaved, the shop is only 5 mins away in the car.

Have had another small v!nted sale so need to drop the parcel off tomorrow and also go to a postbox for my postal survey. I also have a parcel sack for that on Thursday which I hate doing as the local po in a shop always claim they don't know how to scan it! I just ditch it and go now, they have always been taken by the postie anyway. 🤷‍♀️

Have paid another £20 survey money off my smaller CC, taking it down to £1300. Really hoping to get rid of this by the end of the year at the latest. DH is concentrating his efforts on the smaller car loan as it's interest bearing.

Considering ditching the kids with my mum for a few hours tomorrow to get some paint stripping done but will see how it goes. My poor mum will be sick of the sight of them. 😂

Yep Beanie, I hate getting them to send.

The Mr M TGTG bag last night was much better than last week, I got 2 packets of raspberries, 1 of strawberries, 4 pears, 8 apples, 3 avocados, broccoli, grapes, a big bag of baking potatoes, a packet of coriander and a ready made potato, carrot and swede mash.

Sold another v!nted item so dropped that off yesterday as well, managed to hoover and turn all the couch cushions and got 2 washings hung out & dried, including the bed sheets.

Has been a horrible wet day today, of course the day we had decided to go on the train down to the coast. The kids enjoyed the train but had several meltdowns each throughout the day and it was so wet we had to retreat to the indoor amusements which cost us £20. We did walk down the beach for a bit but got soaked and DS was freaking out about not wanting to walk on the sand (mostly stones actually but ok).

The kids enjoyed lunch in the chippy cafe along with ice cream. The kids meals were reasonable at £6.95 each which included the drink and ice cream but a bit more expensive for us. Also DH "had" to get an extra drink at £3.50, the most expensive fish (£3 more than normal haddock) and an ice cream sundae that cost £8. 🙄 Altogether lunch cost £66! It really annoys me when he doesn't even try to be careful with the spending.

Feeling pretty ripped off and the kids didn't even seem to enjoy the day out that much. Of course I've also had my mum on my back about not taking the kids out enough as well. I don't like taking them out on my own, it stresses me out and I just end up feeling exhausted. All I'm hearing is "you're a bad mum because you don't take your children out" not that my mum would actually say that but it feels implied to me and I'm pretty sure DH agrees. I'm just totally fed up. I've been getting decent stretches of sleep but still feel exhausted every morning.

My DS had exactly the same experience when they ate out recently, cost him £68 for the four of them and none of them particularly enjoyed it. Think of how much food you could buy for that!

You’re not a rubbish mum just because you don’t take your children out all the time, I hope you realise that. There’s plenty of nice things you can do at home. Young children are hard work plus you work so no surprise you’re exhausted.

    Sending hugs x
