What an apt description enthusiasticsaver 😆 it is like purgatory, we spend the time before the visit absolutely dreading it. Sometimes it's not as bad as anticipated and others it's worse. 😩 The kids are young enough not to notice the oddness but hopefully the preference for DS over DD won't start again. I'm not sure if it's her age that puts them off or just them being awful.
Got one washing out and dried yesterday as it was a lovely sunny day. DH emptied the shed (think opening the door and having to dodge out of the way of whatever was falling out levels of stuff) and got rid of loads of stuff. We have several bags to take to the tip now as no more room in the big bin.
I helped DH re-organise the stuff (mostly DIY/tools) and get it all onto the shelving units in bags or boxes and it looks so much better. We can actually stand in there now as there is space. One of the chipboard shelves on the units had buckled so had to be binned, DH went and bought some chipboard today and cut it to the correct size so we managed to add more things to the shelves.
I also got some tidying done in the garden and cut back the mint & heather that had died off. Hoping the mint will grow back as saw some green at the base. I also spotted some self seeded violas, pansies and calendula so moved them to shared pots and sprinkled some marigold seeds as well. If they don't do anything I'll germinate inside instead.
Got 3 washings hung out and dried today as it was very windy so things were drying quickly and DH is making lasagne for dinner. DS woke us up at 7am wanting to see if the Easter bunny had come, he also woke DD who was grumpy (he's previously been warned not to wake her 😩). But she did want to see if the "beaster" 🤷♀️ bunny had been. 😂

Actually forgot the worst part of my afternoon yesterday - one of the cats had an upset stomach and had several runny poo accidents upstairs. 😢
He did manage to do it twice in my ensuite, once on the bathmat and again on a folded towel which wasn’t too bad cleaning wise but the other time was in the middle of DS’s bed. 😱 The smell was absolutely vile. 🤢
So had to wash the sheets and the duvet as well as the bathmat & towel. Luckily I could hang the duvet out as it was sunny & dry.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. One of my cats managed to 💩 on my rug and up the side of a lantern in my fireplace a couple of weeks ago so feel your pain on that front.Sometimes I feel like I’m just a 💩 shoveller so I’m sure you must feel the same.Sending empathic hugs 🤗I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Oh no SA, yes I deal with a lot of poo on a daily basis - animal & human. 😩
Thanks Beanie, it was Old Cat, he was looking very sad all day and curled up hiding in the spare room. I'm not sure if it was because he ate something he shouldn't have or if it was a reaction to new wet food I gave him 2 days in a row. Will keep an eye on him as he is a wee old man now so I do worry about him.
All I have done today is hang a washing out, another nice breezy day although quite cloudy. We took the kids for a walk down to the nearby woods and burn and they had a good time although I had to drag/push DD back up the hill as she was tired and hungry. When I asked her to hurry up she screamed NO I not hurry up, so that was that. 👀 😂
We have quite a few baking potatoes to use up so going to make some for dinner tonight, may even make some to freeze. 🤔 We had 3 portions of lasagne left over from dinner last night so they are in the freezer to take to work on a late shift or eat when DH isn't here to cook for us. 😂
I had a really sore stomach again last night/this morning so not feeling great today. Will need to organise the kids stuff later as they are staying over with my mum tomorrow night as DH & I are both working early shift. We are dropping DD off in the morning tomorrow as we're taking DS to the cinema. So possibly a child free afternoon as well as evening. 🎉 Ruined by having to get up at 5am for work on Wednesday though!
I need to re-start the fitness program I bought to try and rebuild my core after having the kids. I was finishing week 2 when I caught the sick bug and haven't went back to it since. Going to do that shortly as it's only 20 mins a day and I think it was definitely helping. I have a suspected prolapse (suspected as I still haven't been physically examined by anyone!! Thanks covid) and have been on a waiting list for gyn referral for over 18 months now. I think it's getting worse and it's awful, am now considering going to a private women's health physio but a 1 hour appointment is £90. I finally have an appointment for my gyn referral in May but it's a video call, what use is that! I'll probably end up getting shunted onto another waiting list. 😞Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Ring the consultants secretary and ask if you can be considered for any cancelled appointments if they have one maybe? The year before last I needed an ultrasound due to an escaped gall stone (it didn't escape far enough) and the appointment was six weeks from the date of the letter. I rang them on the off chance and they had a cancellation the same week. If they say no then you haven't lost anything.1

Thanks Cranky, unfortunately the only phone number they give on the letter is for a call centre. 🫤
I think I’ll speak to the Dr on the video call appointment and see what happens after that. If I’m going onto another waiting list for who knows how long I think I’ll go to a private women’s health physio.Although it will cost and there aren’t any in my (very large) town which surprised me. The ones I have found online all seem to have at least a month’s wait for an appointment. I guess that’s due to there not being many of them and the long nhs waiting lists forcing people to go private.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. DH & I took DS to the cinema for the first time yesterday. He was so excited and really enjoyed the film. 🥰 The cinema was so much comfier than it used to be with electric recliner seats and loads of room. We haven’t been to the cinema since before DS was born, so about 6 years. My mum kept the kids from lunchtime so DH & I had a peaceful afternoon. I did a few washings - DD’s clothes, DS’s swimming stuff and cloths/wipes/tea towels. I hoovered upstairs and then DH hoovered the couches and turned the cushions. Also put a washing away and did day 2 of my exercise plan.
Picking the kids up on the way home from work today and will need to get the washing put away again then prep the spare room for my mum staying over to watch the kids again tomorrow.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks Beanie, it was nice to have peace and not be breaking up constant squabbles between the kids!
Did another bank switch and got £175, so have paid another £100 off the smaller CC and £20 to the smaller car loan.I’ve started a separate savings account for my next phone so added some of the money to that as well. Won’t need the phone for another year or 2 but wanted to start saving in plenty of time.
DH has started a spreadsheet for switching our monthly payments from the joint account to a separate bills account. He’s using it to track the payments and when we have switched them over. Then we can move the exact amount over to the bills account on payday.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
