Beanie & Dancing, I never really thought about kids switching which hand they write with, although have always noticed that DS switches hands a lot with everything he does. DD is very much right handed most of the time.
DD is sleeping better but still being very challenging behaviour wise. We took her to build a bear for her birthday today and she had an epic meltdown. Kicking & screaming on the floor and had to be carried out whilst trying to maul DH.
She gave me a terrible scratch on my face yesterday and drew blood so it was obviously DH's turn. 😱 🤦♀️
DH made a chocolate birthday cake for DD with DS's help yesterday, it tastes lovely but not very neat to look at. 😂 Not that I could do better!
Feeling quite stressed with DD's behaviour, we can't take her anywhere without her being awful, so pretty much stay at home or occasionally ditch her at my mum's.
All I have done housework wise is more washing, back to work on Wednesday and feel like I've done nothing with my time off.

Have had a busy week with work and DD not feeling well/not sleeping. Was exhausted by the time I got to Thursday so not much done then.
On Wednesday we dropped DD’s toddler bed, mattress & duvets off for the local charity that takes baby/toddler equipment to pass on to be re-used.
Also dropped off some gloss paint we won’t use at my sisters house. Her grandson also has an ear infection so seems to be doing the rounds just now.
DS had his first parent’s night at school and he seems to be getting on ok. The teacher said he seems to be getting more confident and is speaking to her and the other kids more.
There was also some confusion over his dominant hand as he switches between right & left. Teacher asked which we think he is more comfortable writing with - I said right (I’m right handed) & DH said left (he’s left handed. 😂 The teacher agreed with me that DS seems to hold the pencil better with his right hand but he may just be able to use both.
DD is a lot better but still waking up and coming into bed with us most nights. Last night she had a meltdown and screamed for an hour because she didn’t want to go to bed. 🤦🏻♀️Yesterday I managed to clean the bathrooms, hoover upstairs, get two washings done and hung up and another put away and cleaned the kitchen.
Have been doing fairly well with selling on v!nted and put more things on. Have cleared out the things that weren’t selling and added them to the charity bag. Also got some survey money through so should be able to pay extra off both CC’s. They are both on 0% until 2024 so I’m hoping to have them paid off by then. The loan for DH’s old car (now mine) is probably the next priority for overpaying as it has the highest interest rate & lowest balance of the two car loans. Even if we could knock a year off it would be helpful.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. My DS was the same at that age.

My DS1 was always right handed, started using his left hand when he broke his right arm and now it's healed seems reluctant to go back to using his right hand 🤷1

It's hard to get on with housework when you've got two young kiddies, don't feel like you've done nothing.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Thanks SA, I try to do little and often but sometimes just lose the will!
Have been pretty much doing washings and going to work recently. DS was sick all over his bed twice in one night last week. 😭 The first time I was still at work so DH dealt with it, the second time I was home so we both sorted it. The next day DS was absolutely fine, very weird. So that created a lot of washing on top of the normal washing.
Yesterday DD woke up looking ill, really tired etc and saying her tummy hurt. She wasn't right all day but was eating fine then suddenly refused her dinner. Proceeded to violently vomit all over the living room, thankfully I just knew she was going to do it so grabbed her and aimed her at the floor rather than on my couch! Cleaned it all up, got her stripped and showered, sat down with her & a towel and within 30 mins or so she was sick everywhere again. Again managed to get it on the floor rather than the couch.
She slept until 10am this morning and seemed much better, still not eating much but at least no projectile vomit. 😐 Until this afternoon where she spewed all over the kitchen floor then again a couple of hours later again in the living room. 😭 Just hoping she'll sleep well again and not be sick in her bed and that she's better tomorrow. Getting very tired of cleaning up sick, I hate the smell. Was boaking last night trying to clean the towel she was sick on.
In less vomity news, DS is off school this week and had a meltdown crying and screaming because we aren't going on holiday. Poor boy is obsessed with the idea of going on holiday but we can't afford it. He told me we could sell his new bed and he would give me the money from his wallet (about a £1). 🥹 Felt pretty bad after that. 😔
We haven't really done much either as I have been working and DH now has no car. Yes the new car saga continues - it's in the garage and likely to remain there for several weeks. Currently waiting on a hire car paid for by the company who sold us the lemon. 😠
Made 4 small Christmas cakes today, just need to wrap them up and store, then remember to feed them regularly. Soaked the fruit in cherry brandy this year and added orange juice & cherry brandy to the cake mix as last year's were a bit dry.
The kids were moaning that they wanted cake today (even vomity DD who didn't actually eat) so used up a couple of apples and also made a cinnamon & apple loaf cake while the oven was on.
On the washing front it was dry and sunny today for a change so DH got two washings done and hung out. 🎉

Eeek.
That sounds dire.
I too loathed when DS was sick.
Hard as it sounds good for DS to learn he cant have everything.

I don’t miss clearing up kid’s vomit 🤮 They don’t even try to make it to the bathroom they just spew wherever they are.I wonder if DS been listening to classmates talking about holidays and feels he’s missing out? He needs to learn while he’s young he can’t have everything like Beanie says.
What a nightmare with the car ☹️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
Thanks Beanie & SA, the sickness got worse as DD was sick all over her bed twice last night and we had to wash her hair at 3am whilst she screamed the house down. Then I had the joy of sleeping in her single bed with her for the rest of the night because she wouldn’t let me leave her. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep, she had me in a chokehold at one point.
Was up at 7am with her as she woke up bright as a button wanting breakfast (which she didn’t eat). She was sick another two times all over the living room floor again, once in the morning & once in the afternoon.
She has hardly eaten all day but has been drinking water and seemed a bit brighter. Think I will be phoning the Drs tomorrow though as she’s been vomiting since Monday teatime now.
Just hoping she isn’t sick over her bed again tonight as she has the spare duvet on and her other one is still wet. Spent all day either washing sicky sheets, cloths & towels or cleaning up sick and cuddling a grumpy child. 😩Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Oh what a rough time for you all, it's just awful when the kids are so poorly. Keeping everything crossed for a quiet night for you all 🤞1
