Took the kids a walk yesterday for a while, it was a bit too far for DD so she was whinging & crying and wanting carried most of the way back. DH always does this - I say don't walk too far, remember we need to get back again and DD is still only 2, he goes uh huh and then walks too far. 😖 At one point he marched ahead holding DD while she screamed because she wanted me but I was exhausted from carrying her and I was left carrying all the jackets (why do I always end up with all the jackets!) and DS was flagging a bit as well. 😢
Got 2 washings plus the big nappy wash done yesterday and hung out, about 50% dried on the line and the rest had to go on the clothes horse & heated airer. Put it away this morning. Washed DS's new school uniform and have it out on the line, will stick his name labels in later and will have to iron the shirts (only bought 2) so he can wear a shirt & tie on his first day. Bought polo shirts for most days as it's easier for everyone!
Have managed a few surveys and a bit of tidying but not much else. Feeling really drained again and just want to sleep. Planning to do some painting this week and my mum will watch the kids. We also have an engagement party to go to on Friday which should be fun, I'm not drinking as don't want the hangover!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. What have you had done to your eyebrows that involves numbing gel and not being able to get them wet for a week 😱I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

SA my sister tattooed my eyebrows last year (don’t worry it’s her job 😂). It’s semi-permanent so needs to be topped up every year-18 months.
The pigment is basically tattooed into the top layer of skin so it’s quite sore (well I think so) and then scabs up as it’s healing which is why you’re advised to keep them dry for a week. I also have some tattoo cream to apply twice a day to help them heal.
It does make my eyebrows look great and means I don’t have to use powder & wax daily but I probably wouldn’t have done it if my sister hadn’t offered to do it for me.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Took the kids to the park this morning and they had great fun, they didn’t want to leave so had to bribe them with the offer of ice cream from Mr M on the way home. 😂 Also got some beer for DH & I as it was on special offer.
Have had one washing out & dried then stripped the kids beds and have the sheets out, they’re probably dry as it’s sunny & breezy.
Gave the bathroom sinks & toilets a clean and emptied the bins.
Got some survey money through so have paid £50 off the CC’s - £40 to the smaller balance as 0% runs out next March and £10 to the bigger one to make it an even number.
Also cashed in some survey vouchers and bought a new keyboard case & screen protector for my iPad. I have dropped it so many times that both the screen protector and case have finally cracked. Definitely worth buying new ones as otherwise the iPad would be well broken by now. Only cost me £13 due to the vouchers.
Have also ordered a new swim bag for DS as DH managed to rip the top of his other one by pulling the drawstring too tight. 🙄
DH busy prepping the downstairs toilet & hallway to paint tomorrow. They’re not big spaces so we should be able to get it done in a few hours.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. We got the painting done, the emulsion only took 2 hours but the gloss took ages and then we had to do a second coat once the kids were in bed so have only had about 6 hours sleep most nights this week. Need to start going to bed earlier when I can.
The downstairs toilet & hallway both look so much brighter after being painted, we're hoping to do the bathroom & en-suite upstairs next week. It has made the living room look quite shabby though. 😢
Doing the painting is knackering, I'm still aching 😂 but the results are worth it. Would love to get the living room & kitchen done before Christmas but it's a big space and would take a few days. Also paint is not cheap! We would need to gloss 7 doors (only one side of the first door into the living room as did one side when doing the hall. 😭 I have discovered how much I hate painting doors, my perfectionist streak means it takes longer as well.
I also cleared out some out of date paperwork & got it shredded, found the receipts from the old couch & tv from about 10 years ago, so obviously needed done! 😂
Took the kids out to a country park yesterday morning, they loved the play area and DD was in heaven in the sand pit. The sun was so hot I could feel myself burning just sitting there. Once again the kids had to be bribed with ice cream to leave, but there was an ice cream van so it was super expensive. 😢 Must admit DH & I had a cone each too, it was lovely but so messy as it was melting so fast due to the heat.
DD was a nightmare last night & screamed for over 2 hours before falling asleep. DH & I had to tag team it a bit but she mostly wanted me. I ended up having to take her into bed with me until she finally fell asleep and moved her back into her own bed. 😔 She seems to be doing this once or twice a week just now and it's so hard.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. We painted a few rooms in the last couple of years but haven't attempted any doors yet 😬
Mr JKN is the 'done is better than perfect' type and I had to learn to relax and let go. See the bits that are not quite right and move on. I'm doing my best, but whenever he suggests another DIY project I start feeling a bit anxious at having to go through it again 🤣
I wonder why your DD does that, maybe she just wants to sleep in your bed? 😊

😂 jokono, Mr JKN sounds like my DH, he was just slapping it on and not caring whilst I was like aargh there's a drip! 😂 I just have to concentrate on the end result, to be fair we haven't painted at all since moving in (8 years ago 😱) apart from DS's room, the spare room that used to be the nursery & the garage conversion so it's well overdue. 👀
With DD I don't know, it's like she gets stuck in a loop and can't calm down. I think it's partly her age, partly the heat & partly when she is over tired or has napped too long during the day. So lots of factors!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Well done on getting the painting done.
We seem to have completely lost our DIY motivation and have taken to ignoring any jobs that need doing 🤣
The country park sounded lovely, hope DD had a better night x1 -
Thanks Dancing, we have been avoiding painting for several years now so it really needs done! 🤣
DD was a nightmare again last night, my mum was babysitting as we were at my cousin’s engagement party. I didn’t drink as was driving, took my nieces home from the party & dropped my mum out off. DD woke up as soon as I went upstairs to go to bed. 😩 Took nearly an hour to get her settled again. Hope she gets over this phase soon.
Having a lazy day today, have done nothing apart from feeding the kids. Made peanut butter cookies and DH is making a curry for dinner later. I’ll make some flatbread to go with it.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Today I was a bit more productive, brushed then hoovered the couches & turned all the cushions over and then hoovered upstairs. Got 2 washings done & hung out as well as the big nappy wash.
DH hung out the first washing then cut the grass & then made roast chicken, potatoes & Yorkies. He tried roasting fennel as we had it in our fruit & veg box but we weren’t keen on it. I did the honey roasted carrots & butterscotch pudding.
Forgot to mention when I was going out the other night the kids both asked separately what happened to my eyes because I was wearing eye makeup. 😂 They were very concerned for me. 😂Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
