Still negative so far jokono. 🤞 My mum is feeling a bit better today so hopefully she’ll be over it soon.

We’re going to try our best to use all the fruit & veg - the kids will eat most of the fruit and I can always chop & freeze any of the veg that we don’t use. It’s just a waste of money otherwise. We are looking at recipes to use the cabbage & aubergine as we don’t tend to buy those often.

I haven’t hoovered upstairs today but did strip and remake our bed. I got a washing done, hung out & dried, got half of the big nappy wash dried on the line and the bedding done and hung out. It rained about an hour afterwards so the sheets are in the TD now.

DH & I took the kids out for a walk then I  dropped my v!nted parcels off and got money out for the milkman tonight. Also took DS when I went to Mr M’s for a few things, spent £12 after some discounts from the more card so not too bad.

DS was being very annoying in the shop, trying to take over pushing the trolley and  not listening to me. He’s being very defiant just now. 😒 He also keeps trying to cuddle DD when she obviously doesn’t want a cuddle then cries when she gets annoyed & hits him. 🤦🏻‍♀️ He’s challenging to say the least.

DH has made dinner which is good. 👍🏻

Happy to hear your mum is better, I hope you don't get it at all.

My mum used to make a cabbage stew with a spoonful of tomato paste and some chorizo/sausage, I liked it most when the cabbage was chopped really small, it melts in the mouth.

This is a recipe I plan to try soon, very unusual (for me)

Sliced aubergine fried in generous amounts of oil are delicious, I have them with hummus wraps. 🤤

Still negative so far but DH has had a positive test. 😩 DD had a bad night, kept waking & crying and has been generally grumpy so wonder if she has it too. 😟

Thanks for the recipe ideas jokono, funnily enough I was looking at a recipe for roasting cabbage.

Have ordered a Lego set towards DS’s Christmas as the price dropped by £5 and I had enough in vouchers to pay for it. He’s only getting the one set though as I can’t handle yet more lost bits. 😂

We are going to cut down on presents for the kids again this year. I bought less last year and they were still overwhelmed!

We would like to get DS a tablet as his main present so are thinking that, his Lego set, a book or two and then some small toys, bubble bath and sweets for his stocking.

DD’s birthday is in October so need to get that sorted too. I think a big easel and some more paint sticks/washable markers would be good for her birthday as she is very interested in painting & drawing (unlike DS).

Unsure what to get her for Christmas, I think she is a bit young for a tablet but maybe not. 🤔 She loves cuddly toys and small animal toys so maybe something like Sylvanian families. They are very pricey though.

We have held off getting DS a tablet but he has used them at nursery and will be using them at school.

He has also been playing DH’s Nintendo switch and has actually been pretty good at putting it away when asked so we think he can handle looking after a tablet.

I’m exhausted after 3 early shifts, still testing negative so think I might have dodged covid this time. My mum is much better and testing negative now and DH is getting better too. 👍🏻

I have ordered a school bag for DS that he saw and it was in the sale as a bonus. Hoping it won’t be giant on him though. 😂

Also got hey Duggee pjs for both kids to put in their December boxes and a pair of Harry Potter pjs as part of my youngest niece’s birthday next month.

Have hung the washing out already as it’s nice & windy. Need to strip the kids beds and hopefully get the sheets hung out as long as it stays dry.

I got both my GKs the Kindle Fire tablets for their 2nd birthdays. They were showing interest well before that, it was quite funny to watch my DGS knowing how to swipe a screen at just a few months old 🤣

😂 SA yes both DS & DD know how to swipe on our phones & tablets and how to use the cameras. If someone holds a phone up in their general direction they both pose and shout “CHEESE!” 🤣 and then “Let me see! Let me see!” 🤦🏻‍♀️

I used some of my B00ts points the other day to get day cream (it was half price & I only bought 1! 😱), kids toothpaste & body scrub.

I have claimed some cashback from Shopmium today as ordered some things that qualified. I got 2 impulse sprays for 50p each (with the cashback offer) so they will be part of my older nieces birthday or Christmas.

Also tried DD in pants yesterday  afternoon and we went through 3 pairs but she started moving towards the potty or toilet after the first pair got wet. The last time she actually did her pee in front of the toilet so she knows what to do. Going to try her again later and then maybe do some full days.

Have been too lazy to update, DD hasn't really progressed much with the potty. I don't know whether to just try full days with no nappy or leave it for now. We took the kids to my cousin's wee one's birthday party yesterday so DD had a nappy on all day. I'm also back at work Wed/Thurs this week then Sunday.

Today I have done 2 washings and hung them up - one on the line and one on the airer. Hoovered upstairs and cleaned the bathrooms and that's about it. It's very muggy feeling today but not as warm as down south thankfully. Not looking forward to the next few days as I don't like the heat and our house is always so warm. The kids get crabby as they don't sleep well in the heat too. 😢

I have ordered a soft toy as part of DS's Christmas as it was on sale and it's a character he loves. I have made a good start on his stuff already and am cutting back again this year so not too much more to get. Have agreed with DH to save towards the tablet, he is selling some more things so will put some of the money aside for it and then we will get it in the black friday sales as there should be offers then.

Still not too sure on what to get DD but have loads of time and her birthday to get out of the way first.

My mum is still exhausted from covid which isn't good. Hoping she'll get over it soon.

I have ordered some things for myself so will be putting my survey money towards those this month, if I can pay at least half off I will be happy with that.

  • Wow you're doing well getting some Xmas bits already!

I'm sure DD will quickly crack potty training when she's ready, might be worth trying again in a week or 2.

Hope your Mum feels better soon, the exhaustion is something else, is your DH feeling better?

Good idea to put the survey money towards treats for you 🙂 x

My DD wasn’t as quick to walk or use the potty as DS. They’re all different but catch up eventually. Glad to hear you’re treating yourself, you need it 😊
