Really sorry things have got so tough.

Debt and spending is a vicious cycle and it’s so hard to get out of. Do you think your DH could be an emotional
Spender? It could link in with the anxiety.

Cut back what you can but you will need those little treats too.

    Big hugs x

Sounds really difficult for you at the moment, sorry to hear DH has been signed off work too. Everything must seem so exhausting right now.
Would DH be in the right mindset to review some more of his stuff to sell while he's off work? Give him something to focus on and help with boosting finances a bit?
    Take care x

Thanks all, just having a bit of a slump again I think. 😔

Beanie, it's possibly depression, I have suffered with it before and was on anti-depressants for a while. I think I do need to speak to a Dr and maybe get some blood tests or something, I don't think it's normal to be so tired all the time. I could happily nap every day and am actually getting a decent sleep most nights now. I will work up to phoning soon.

Willow, DH is definitely an emotional spender, I think it's all tied up with his parents and his anxiety over them as well. He is going to start going swimming by himself once a week and hopefully that will help a bit with the anxiety.

Dancing, I think DH would definitely be up for that, fingers crossed he can get some stuff out of the house!

We took the kids swimming after nursery yesterday and they loved it. DS didn't get a sore ear afterwards either. Definitely need to keep taking them and will get DH to phone up about swimming lessons for DS. Another cost but it's a life skill so we need to do it.

I have sold a small bundle on v!nted, only £2 but better than nothing. Still have quite a few things to put on. Have realised that a lot of DD's t-shirts are too short on her when she lifts her arms and age 3-4 fit better as they are longer so will need to check the sizes of them all, buy more in the bigger size and sell the smaller ones. She isn't 3 until October but is tall for her age. 🤦‍♀️

Managed a couple of washings yesterday, all dried and put away too. Raining here today though so the nappy wash will need to go on the heated airer. Did a few PA surveys yesterday so have a nice amount pending. Working late shifts today and tomorrow, also have DS's second primary 1 induction morning tomorrow and then a bookbug event at nursery on Friday morning that I want to take DD to. Will finally get a rest on Saturday. 😴

Hey Sashy, I just finished catching up the last year or so in your diary. I was going to say I feel for you with all the sleepless nights, early and late shifts, looking after 2 small children and doing so much around the house. I have to say I'm a lot more environmentally conscious than when my littlest was in nappies but I still don't think I would do reusable ones 🙈
I am not surprised you are so tired and run down, you are constantly ON. Sending hugs 🤗

Thanks for popping in jokono. 😊

The cloth nappies aren’t so bad once you’re used to them. The evil side of me enjoyed watching MIL retch over one of DD’s pooey nappies when she changed her and then had to rinse the nappy & wipes. 😂

I can’t lie though, I’m looking forward to DD being toilet trained! Also not having as much washing will be nice.

Unfortunately she is refusing to even look at the potty and I just get a “NO!” every time I ask her if she wants to use it. DS was a nightmare and was 3.5 before he even started using the potty so it could be a while yet. Ideally she will be out of nappies for starting nursery in November but I’m going to try my best not to get stressed out. She’ll do it when she’s ready.

DS had a great time at his second induction for primary 1 this morning. He met his buddies who will be primary 7 next year and will help/look out for him. They are lovely kids & he came out holding hands with them. 🥹🥰

I also met a girl I went to school with, her DS is going to the same school although he is in the other primary 1 class. Also had a chat with a couple of other mums and finally found out their actual names so I don’t just know them as “so-and-so’s mum” 😆

Sold another couple of things on v!nted so got them sent off on my way to work, £5 pending now.

Also took an old paper £5 note & round £1 coin I found in a drawer into the bank and exchanged them for the new versions. So that will go in the drawer towards milk/window cleaner money.

Have applied for a no fee 0% balance transfer card to move my big CC balance to as the biggest amount 0% runs out in a few months. The new credit card is 21 months interest free so hoping to have paid the balance off by the time it ends. I will still have the new £2.5K on the old CC, the 0% on that balance runs until next March so may need to transfer again. 🤔

DS got up early for nursery, went downstairs and made himself & DD a bowl of cereal each! He’s never done that before, he hardly spilled any milk but the downside was that he used a full pint of milk. 😱

He was very proud of himself so we made sure to tell him well done but maybe just use a bit less milk next time. 😂

I took DD to bookbug at the school yesterday and although she enjoyed it she also had a few tantrums. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Luckily it was my DS’s key worker running it so she knows us and was very reassuring afterwards. 😂

DD will be going to the nursery there as well near the end of the year so it’s good for her to get to know some faces. Both DD & I were exhausted afterwards.

I went to the chiropractor for my re-set and it’s my last appointment with my chiro for a while as she’ll be on maternity leave soon.

So next appointment is with a different lady which will be weird, have been going to the same chiro for years so we usually have a wee chat.

Housework wise I have been pretty much just keeping up with washings and that’s about it. Today I did the big cat litter cleans, emptied and cleaned the kitchen bin, gave the hob, splashback, worktops & inside of the microwave a wipe down. I also emptied all the recycling into the right bins and have done the big nappy wash & a washing of towels.

When DD went for her nap I took myself off for one too. 🤭 Had a nice hour of peace and felt better for it.

Unfortunately DH in a bit of a mood as he “didn’t get any peace” or “time to himself” 🙄

Tell him that whilst he went away down south to visit his friend you're taking your freedom hours in sleep. When you've caught up with him it will be his turn again.....

😂 Good plan cranky, he was being moody because the F1 qualifying was on and he couldn’t hear it properly due to the kids playing up.

I think he’s just not used to being with the kids so much without the break of going to work! Maybe he’ll understand why I’m fed up & touched out but doubt it. He can be quite selfish and just thinks about himself and how hard done to he is. 🙄

I forgot to mention we have bought a new mattress for our bed. We had saved up some money and then saw a really good deal for a refurbished memory foam hybrid mattress.

It’s one of the ones you can send back after x amount of days for a refund so they refurb and sell the trialled ones on eb*y. We paid less than half the full price and it can be sent back if not suitable.

As we had enough saved up we just went for it. We do need to find the money for the council to take the old mattress away (£32 I think) & also need to buy a deep mattress protector.

However it’s still a lot less than a brand new mattress so worth a try.
