Feeling very tired again, have been working lates the last 2 days and also had to take my mum to the vets as her cat hasn't been very well for weeks now. She had taken him previously and they thought it was flu but he never got any better. He stopped eating the other day so she had to take him in and it turned out to be a tumour so the poor wee soul was put to sleep. 😔

I had DD with me so a vet nurse took her into the waiting room whilst the cat had his injection. My mum was really upset as she has lost 3 pets in 2 years so she thinks she won't have any more. Absolutely dreading dealing with my Old Cat when the time comes, just hope he lasts a long time, he is healthy for now just old and cranky.

DD enjoyed seeing all the dogs coming in and out of the vets and one man gave her some biscuits to give to his lab. He was a bit strange though and I was quite glad when he was called in for his dog's appointment! I think he was just trying to be kind but I felt a bit stuck as he had kind of backed DD & I into a corner of the waiting room that was meant to be cat only but he brought the dog over to see DD. It's a bit screened off to try and keep the cats calm so the vet nurses couldn't really see us and I just felt a bit uneasy. I don't know if I'm overthinking it but I just got a strange vibe from him and he seemed too interested in DD. Maybe he was just lonely and likes kids, he wasn't inappropriate or anything but I just felt uneasy.

My car is still playing up and I have no reversing sensors, I can't believe how much I miss them, I have obviously become reliant on them without realising! So I'm paranoid about reversing into another car at work now. 😢 Back in for 2 more late shifts tomorrow & Tuesday.

DD got her nursery place but doesn't start until November as her free hours aren't until the month after she turns 3. She has a wee session to play in nursery in June so will take her then, she will love it. DS has his nursery sports day later this week so I'll have to go and take DD along to that as well.

So sorry for your mum’s bad news 😢 We get so attached to our fur babies and it’s heartbreaking when we lose them 💔

Thanks Beanie & SA, my mum's pets were all quite old so not unexpected but just so much harder when they all had to be pts relatively close together. You really do grieve for them and people who have never had pets do struggle to understand sometimes. I still miss my old cats and know I'll really struggle when my old boy goes. 😢

In better news for my mum she had her cast and stitches removed today and has a support now for her wrist. She says it feels much better already.

I have ordered the fire station lego set that DS asked for for his birthday, it cost £42 but I had £20 worth of vouchers from surveys so got it nearly half price. He has that, his yoto player, some spider-man bath stuff and a tiny mario car that he also asked for. I just need to think about a cake, number candle and card now. I saw a mario birthday cake but it was £11 (!) so thinking it might be cheaper to make one and buy something mario related to stick on top!

My MIL asked what small thing to get DS (as they usually send money and something to open). I said a wallet would be good as he is more interested in money and we do need to think about giving him small amounts to buy things now and again.

Walked down to nursery this morning and back and then put away 3 loads of washing and put another on. Gave the couches a brush to try and reduce the cat hair and a quick clean of the litter trays. Also got the kids pjs & bath towels out for tonight (& DD's night nappy) and their clothes for the morning as I'm working tonight and will be getting them sorted out on my own in the morning. DS came in to wake me up at half 7 this morning already dressed apart from his polo shirt that he wanted help with to get on. He has started to enjoy getting himself ready in the mornings now. 👍

Just waiting for DH to get home from work then I will get ready and leave, I can take his car too which is good. He thinks he knows what is wrong with my car and is going to take the wheel off to have a look. Fingers crossed he can fix it himself and save us the cost of the garage.

In garden news I have a few more courgette & cucumber seedlings now and also have quite a few runner bean ones too. I potted them all on yesterday and moved them out into the greenhouse. I think I might end up with too many runner beans so I might give the extras to the nursery for their garden if they want them.

I have also ordered some more flower seeds to have a go at some different types - nasturtium, more calendula, marigolds, rudbeckia, lobelia and alyssum - so a nice mix. I already have some bought violas, my sweet pea seedlings, calendula & marigold seedlings and self-seeded linaria & calendula that I grew from seed last year so the garden is looking not too bad already.

Last time we grew nasturtium it was just a mass of caterpillars, never seen so many 😆 My sweet peas are doing really well this year, the flowers smell beautiful.

😱 SA hopefully I won't get caterpillars with the nasturtiums. My sweet peas have been very slow, not even flowering yet but I was late sowing them.

Yesterday I managed to give all the bathroom sinks & toilets a clean, did a couple of washings and put them away, stripped & remade the kids' beds and hoovered upstairs. I had to pick my mum up so that DS could see her too.

Today I dropped DS off at nursery then took DD out to Mr A for a few things. I had an order to collect and also a parcel to drop off - they are trying a new scheme where if you send them at least 10 items of clothing you get a voucher for 10% off George. I had some old kids stuff that wasn't fit for much more than recycling but condition doesn't matter either. I dropped the parcel off and had my voucher code emailed to me within 20 mins. I'm going to use it towards some school uniform for DS, need to order a couple of different sizes in the trousers. They do a longer length option which I'm going to try as well.

I had ordered a swimming float vest for DD from v!nted and it arrived today, it's in great condition and got it for under £7 when the same one is £20 new. 😱 The arm bands I ordered for both kids also arrived, I think DD is going to refuse to wear them but seemed ok with the vest when I tried it on her.

We're going swimming on Friday as nursery is closed, heading out early before it gets too busy!

Have done some surveys today and cashed out on PA, the odd amount of £1.38 is going into the christmas savings and the £10 will go to one of the debts.

Have done yet more washings, they are all having to go onto the heated airer and normal clothes horse as the weather is so unsettled. Lovely sunshine then torrential rain so a bit of a gamble to hang washing out!

DS has his nursery sports day tomorrow afternoon so I will be taking my mum & DD to that. Need to get the downstairs floors washed in the morning and hoover and turn the cushions on the couches.

Forgot to mention last night that I bought a printed icing topper for DS’s birthday cake & DH is going to make the actual cake. Much cheaper than paying £11/12 for a supermarket cake.

The topper is personalised with name & age and only cost £4, I bought a number 5 candle for £1 and we already have all the ingredients for a cake apart from needing a bit more butter.

Was really shocked by the amount so many things had gone up by in Mr A yesterday. Prices seem to be increasing every week. 😢

I’ve noticed the price of cakes has gone incredibly. They used to be around £8 but now they’re more £12. Another reflection of the price increase x
