The sandals sound like a bargain. I’ve noticed just lately that my socks don’t last as long as they used to.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Yes SA the sandals were £45 full price so a good saving with 20% off plus my £10 voucher.

Looking at buying DS’s uniform for school as I think I’ll have problems getting trousers that are long enough but also fit his skinny waist. Going to order some next week from Mr A and probably going to get 4 plain sweatshirts in the school colour and just buy one sweatshirt with the school logo on it. The logo ones cost £12 each and the plain ones are £2 each!

Took DS to my brother’s party last night as my nieces were going. DH stayed at home with DD as she’s still a bit young and also wasn’t feeling great. I was going to bring my mum back with DS & my niece to stay with DD so DH could go for a while but he wasn’t too fussed.

DS really enjoyed himself and was up on the dance floor most of the night. 😂 We got home after 11pm, the latest he’s ever been out. I was driving so only spent about £2 on drinks. 👍🏻

Making more no knead bread today, did the dough yesterday and it’s baking in the oven now.

Taking the kids down to play with one of my nieces for a while later. Was going to drop into my aunt’s later as they are having a wee thing for my cousin’s 21st but it will probably be too late for the kids and we have to get up for nursery tomorrow.

DS is so tired today, he was up and dressed at 8am as wanted to go and play with his cousin!

Hey pleased you survived the outlaws visit and hope your Mum is doing okay. Sounds like DS has discovered his inner party animal

Re: school uniform, My DS1 is similar to your DS with the skinny waist/long leg combo and I've found M&S trousers really good as they have a hidden hem you can let down as they grow. Similarly, depending on your school's colours I've found Mata!an's sweatshirts are great value and have lasted much longer than the overpriced school logo ones x

Thanks Dancing, my mum is getting on ok, she has another appointment next week to get her temporary cast & stitches removed. She's hoping she will be able to wear a support and sling rather than have another cast put on. She is managing well, I just have to open things for her when I visit. 😂

Thanks for the school uniform info, I'll have a look. The good thing is that there's so much choice now for uniform and the school don't insist on logos, they're happy as long as the kids wear the school colours.

DS was still so tired this morning, I think an early night will be on the cards for him tonight. DD still has DS's bug from last week so a runny tummy, grumpiness and tiredness from her. She was very funny when we went out in the car yesterday, she kept shouting "Woohoo! I love going in the car!"

DH is away down south to visit his friend, he won't be back until Thursday afternoon and then I'm working Friday & Saturday late shifts. 😐 And he wonders why I get annoyed with him. I was raging with him when he first brought it up but he just went ahead and booked it all anyway. 😠

He's been out several times in the last few weeks and I've gone absolutely nowhere. 😠 I just get told to organise to see my friends, he can't seem to get it through his head that it's not that easy - it usually takes a month of planning (at least) to get a date when we can all escape our children/be off work! And that's just to go for lunch or dinner, forget anything longer!

DH & I get limited time off together as I usually work on his days off and we don't often  get annual leave at the same time as it's allocated and then you have to try and swap someone for the preferred dates. Nearly impossible with school holiday dates unless the person that has them doesn't have kids! So I do get annoyed when he arranges to p!ss off to see his friends for days at a time leaving me with the kids!

I have done 20 mins of Get Fit with Rick today - the first time in a long time 👀 but I need to get back into exercising as it does help me feel better.

Housework wise all I've done is hang up a washing, put one on and put one away then wash some dishes. Feeling exhausted so just relaxing on the couch with Old Cat whilst DD naps.

To follow on from my rant ( 😂) we need to get more organised and sort out a time to take DS swimming every week. The day will change every week due to our shifts but we need to get into some sort of routine.

We need to get him used to the pool so we can then sign him up for swimming lessons. I'm hoping that DH will take DS every week as he enjoys swimming and I'm a nervous swimmer at best but I know I'll have to go the first couple of times as DS can be very clingy when he's not sure about something.

If DS gets on ok I can then think about taking DD once a week during the day when DS is at nursery. At least I'd have a good excuse to stay away from the deep end. 😂

I wouldn't be happy either, fair do's the occasional thing but not on a frequent basis especialy with such young children and working shifts

Swimming plans sound good, we're taking our 2 to an intensive introduction to swimming during half term and hoping that leads on to swimming lessons for them both, definitely a life skill I'd like them to have as I'm like you and not a very confident swimmer so I don't want the same for the boys x

Thanks guys, DH thinks I'm unreasonable as I can "just book something with your friends" 🙄 He came home a day early due to train cancellations/strikes anyway but I was still exhausted.

Have done minimal housework this week, given the bathrooms a wipe and cleaned the floors, hoovered the stairs then upstairs rooms and changed all the bedding, did several loads of washing, got some hung out but most had to go on the heated airer due to rain.

DS is going need more trousers and joggers soon - the ones he has still fit his waist but are too short in the leg. 😩 It's never ending. I have a pile of things to put on v!nted again, just need to motivate myself.

Went to DS's nursery parents night yesterday, it's mostly to discuss the handover of information from the nursery key worker to the primary 1 teacher. It went well, his key worker knows him very well now and knows how he learns things (make sure it involves trucks or dinosaurs 😂) and his favourite new toy in the nursery garden is the see-saw that swings round as well as up and down. Key worker said he spends hours on it every week!

My mum watched the kids whilst I was at the nursery and then we had a Chinese for dinner. DS was very happy to come with me to pick it up, all he and DD wanted was the prawn crackers, fried rice, chips & sweet and sour sauce.

Working late shift the next 2 days then off 1 and back in for 2 more lates. 😢 My car is also playing up, a few warning lights coming on, I think there is a problem with the sensors and/or a loose connection so will probably have to take it to the garage next week. 😭

Have done a few more surveys, quite close to cashing out on yougov. 🎉
