Thanks SA & Beanie, the sick is not pleasant but agree the snuggles are nice until they start using me as a combination trampoline/chair. 😂

Forgot to mention that I got £1.50 off the sun cream due to my advantage card plus a “free” spf 50 face lotion. Not too bad as I was going to buy one for myself. ☺️

I have been pretty lazy today, have put one washing on & hung up, one put away and the big nappy wash on and hung up.

Then just the usual dishes and feeding the kids. Took DS down to stay with my mum, she’s taking him to a cafe tomorrow for cake, his favourite thing ever. 😊 DD happy enough to stay at home and be the centre of our attention. 🤣

Did a few surveys but that’s about it. Tomorrow I want to get some lentil soup made and do a bit of cleaning. Working Sunday, Monday & Tuesday so not much will get done beyond basics.

DH will be at home watching the kids, sometimes he cleans the place up, sometimes he doesn’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️ He will at least stick washings on (usually) and do the cooking.

So far today I have spent £50 on cat food and £40 on cat litter. 🤣 Blinking cats cost a fortune every 6 weeks or so.

Just relaxing for a bit then going to have a shower. Need to get a bit more done today than yesterday. Have already put 2 loads of washing away.

  • Hope your DS is feeling better now. When they are sick in the night ( especially anywhere near one’s bed) it feels much worse than any other time. Sympathies...

Thanks Honeysuckle, DS is a lot better although still not quite right, he is crying over silly things a lot and still seems tired.

I did my first early shift today, two more to go and then I will be off for a week. I made lentil soup yesterday which was very nice so that did lunch for me, DH & DD, DS refused to try it as he "doesn't like" soup now. 🤷‍♀️ There was enough left over for me to take to work today and tomorrow so that's good too. 😊

After work today I put more washing away and got DH to wash the kids jackets (muddy) and stick a light washing on as well. I gave the bathrooms a quick wipe too as well as cleaning & tidying the kitchen. I also fished a lot of the kids toys out from underneath our couches.

Tomorrow I need DH to take a washing out in the morning (towels) and put the big nappy wash on and hang it up as well. DD's washing basket is also looking quite full. DS is back to nursery on Tuesday so we can get back into a routine with that.

My mum is on my back about letting DS stay up later at night, she thinks I'm some kind of tyrant for sending him to bed at 7pm. 🤷‍♀️ Some nights he does lie awake chatting in bed for ages rather than going straight to sleep.

I have agreed with DH that he can stay up until 7:30 at latest on nursery nights and 8ish at the weekend. I really think he still needs a decent amount of sleep though and I need the peace! Some days the thought of bedtime is all that keeps me going! 😂

  • Hope DS is feeling brighter today.

I wouldn't worry too much about bedtimes, do what works for you. My 2 (age 6 and 3) usually go to bed at 7 too.

They are allowed to stay up later during school holidays or on a Friday (usually 730 for DS2 ,& 8 for DS1) but it impacts them the next day and they usually ask to go to bed before 7 as a result 🤷🤣

Definitely need child free time each evening though, there's many a day I'm counting down the minutes to their bedtime 🤣🤣

Thanks Dancing, I don’t know why my mum has a bee in her bonnet about me sending DS to bed at the same time as DD, he hasn’t complained about it. 😂

Although I do get “but mummy it’s not dark outside so it’s not bedtime” a few times a week now.

Hoping to get out into the garden after work today. I have some daffodils to deadhead and need to de-tangle the netting to put over my blueberry bushes or the birds will be off with the berries. Won’t need to put the netting up yet but want it ready.

Also need to move my cucumber seedlings into bigger pots and sow some courgette seeds.

I need to empty out the kids sand table as it’s full of rain and old water. 😱 The kids are desperate to play with it so need to get it emptied and dried so I can put new sand in.

I was very tempted yesterday to buy some fancy shampoo, conditioner and curl cream and “had” to add more to the basket to get free delivery. It came to £25 with 40% off 👀 but I was good and talked myself out of it.

My hair is very wavy and goes so frizzy and I also have an itchy scalp so need to find shampoo & conditioner that will help with that. Today I bought a £1 ginger shampoo that I think is sulphate free and £3.49 hair silicone free mask/conditioner to try out. I think £4.49 is a lot better than £25.

Had a points swap offer on our nectar card so doubled our £20 worth of points to a £40 voucher to use in Mr S. Worth doing and leaves the rest of the year to collect more points towards money off our Christmas food.

Managed to get into the garden, got the daffs that needed it deadheaded, did a quick weed of the hedge and side of the driveway and cut some dead branches off a hebe in the front garden.

Repotted my cucumber seedlings and have sown courgettes and another cucumber. Have moved the chilli & cucumber seedlings into the spare room as it’s nice and sunny in there most of the day and stays warm. The chillies aren’t doing much, I think it’s still too cold for them.

Put my earlier sweet peas into the greenhouse, will just need to cover them with fleece at night.

The netting wasn’t too bad so just got it up as the blueberry bushes are budding. Found some pots in the greenhouse with old compost in them so will need to empty them into the borders soon.

The greenhouse really needs a good clean & tidy, maybe I can do it one day when DS is at nursery.  🤔

DH hung out the towels & big nappy wash, I have DD’s washing in the machine now. Hopefully can get it out on the line for a couple of hours.

It’s all very well your mum telling you to keep DS up later but it’s not her dealing with him. If he’s happy to go to bed at 7 then stick to it as long as you can. You need some time to relax in the evening.
