Hope the children are feeling all better. Keep meaning to retry Bridgerton. I couldn’t really get into it before but I think it was because I was still in mourning for Game of Thrones.

We’re currently watching The Sinner, and I am also humouring Mr P by stomaching 1 peaky blinders episode every couple of days. I hate it. I loathe all the characters. But am determined to get through it. 😂

Thanks paws, I enjoy period drama as it’s a bit escapist and that’s what I need right now! I’m not into anything too dark or realistic at this point in time.

I never really got into Peaky Blinders and gave up after 2 episodes, I have a short attention span!

The kids both still have the cold but are a bit more lively. They are currently using paint sticks and making a lovely mess on the dining table. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m doing yet more washing, I’m experimenting with how long to tumble dry the towels then hang them out on the line for them to stay soft without using the TD to fully dry them. A nappy pre wash is on and will stick a dark washing on shortly.

Hoping to make soup today or tomorrow as it’s useful for DH & I to take to work. Also planning on a chicken casserole & dumplings for dinner tomorrow, need to make some cake for the kids at some point as well.

You’re such a good cook. You always seem to be rustling something up! I enjoy cooking but I never seem to make the time x

Thanks Willow, I’m trying to do more cooking & baking as I have the ingredients and it does help to save a bit of money. The kids will generally eat any cake or dessert but are about 50/50 on the dinners. 😂

I do need to force myself to do it sometimes but enjoy it once I’ve started. There are so many people on this site that inspire me to get back into making our food from what we have at home!

Saying that I’m not planning on growing much this year, I have some cucumber seedlings and wasabi rocket so far. Also hoping the raspberry canes will produce a lot better this year than last, have the blueberry plants which produced a decent amount of berries last year and my rhubarb has started showing its face again.

I have done zero cooking today so far apart from scrambled eggs for the kids lunch. DS is playing in the garden while DD naps and I’m going to get my own lunch soon. Have got two washings hung out and the last of yesterday’s put away. Also did the online shop for next week.

Got to the £50 payout for one of my survey sites so will need to divide that between CC, DH’s loan & the Christmas fund when it arrives.

Managed to make carrot & lentil soup, pizza rolls and brownies today. The pizza rolls used up a few things that were just out of date or about to be (all looked & smelled fine) as well as half a carton of passata I had frozen.

DS said he liked the soup but still only had a few spoonfuls. DD loved it and ate a full bowl and kept telling me how much she liked it. 😂

DH put the big nappy wash on and hung it out. I asked him to strip our bed as well while I had a shower so he did that, put the washing on and hung the sheets out.

Other than that I have only managed a quick cat litter clean and washed the dishes (at least 3 lots due to the cooking!)

Yesterday I sorted out some folders to keep the kids drawings & paintings in so they don’t get lost.

Yesterday I managed another 2 washings DS’s clothes & the kids bedding. The bedding had to go in the tumble dryer as had nowhere else to put it but it’s the first time I’d used it for ages.

Had a very stressful afternoon today taking the kids to a soft play party. 😭 DD was far too confident and climbing up too high so I had to get her down, there were too many big kids about and I just couldn’t keep an eye on her.

DS went up as well but got stuck and was crying for me to come and get him. He wrapped himself around me like a baby monkey and refused to go back into the soft play until near the end of the party. 🤦🏻‍♀️

DD spent most of the time screaming and tantruming because she was missing her nap and I wouldn’t let her loose to do what she wanted. It was so busy and just not safe at her age, I was panicking when she just ran and I couldn’t see her at first.

Yes Beanie, everyone I’ve spoken to has said the same thing it’s “soft play hell” 🤣

I’ve just got my diary back as everything had disappeared last night except the first page!!! So odd and emailed the forum help, they got it back by posting a couple of replies, hopefully it won’t happen again. 😱

Had another stressful day today as went to a funeral with DH. I didn’t really know the person but was still a crying mess, I always am at funerals. ☹️ I felt like a lunatic crying so much but couldn’t stop. I do know the family though and they’re lovely people so maybe that’s why I was getting upset.

My mum watched the kids for us so we picked them up at lunchtime and DD went for her nap at home.

Have felt out of sorts all day but got on with some cleaning - gave the bathroom sinks & toilets a clean, cleaned the patio door and mirrored wardrobe doors where DS & DD have been licking/pawing them 🤦🏻‍♀️ , cleaned the kitchen worktops and sinks, did the big cat litter clear out, put yesterday’s washing away and did the big nappy wash.

DH is away out with his friend so I’m going to give the kids dinner then get them to bed and have a relaxing night.
