Thanks Dancing, I just hope DS will use the yoto player. He’s very unpredictable as are most 4 year olds. 😂 I think he’ll like that he’s able to control it etc. Worst comes to worst and he never uses it it can go to DD!
Keeping my fingers crossed for an easy bedtime and the kids settling nicely. DD likes to shout me back for a drink eleventy billion times when I try to leave the room. While she’s doing that DS is bellowing from his room MUMMY WHERE ARE YOU READ ME A STORY on repeat. 🤦🏻♀️ Maybe the yoto will help with that actually. 🤔😂Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. My 5yo DGS wants a drone for his birthday 🤷♀️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Eleventy billion times, that's one of the phrases I use for my 2 DS's demands 🤣
SA my DS1 asked for a drone for Xmas (also age 5), we got him a very small one and haven't let him outside yet as his control skills still need a bit of work, he love it though 😊2 -
So I think I cursed myself wanting an easy bedtime as there was lots of crying from DD & DS was being very defiant and shouty after his bath. 🙄
SA, had to laugh at DGS wanting a drone, I don’t think my DS knows what one is. I’m sure he’d want one if he did though.😂
Dancing I must have read eleventy billion times somewhere but it pretty accurately reflects children’s demands. 😂
Have managed to get the big nappy wash hung out on the line today. It’s very windy so hopefully they’ll be mostly dry when I bring them in.
My brother & his gf came over with my 2 little nieces. DS was delighted to have them to play with and they were all out in the garden for a bit too.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Not much done today - I walked down to nursery and back with DD in the pram, DS was running all the way, think he really wanted to go in today. 😂 DD was "reading" her copy of Goldilocks and the Three Bears all the way there. 😂
Got yesterday's nappies and the night nappy prewashed and DS's washing done and hung up. Got the last of the dry washing put away as well. Made some tomato soup and also some chocolate cornflake cakes to use up some out of date cheap chocolate. The chocolate seized and they looked awful but don't think the kids will mind - I also threw in some mini marshmallows.
Should really do some cleaning but still feeling sore and tired so just relaxing on the couch while DD naps. I'm doing a few surveys but not a lot else. Back at work for 2 late shifts On Wed & Thurs, not looking forward to it.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. DS is pushing my buttons today - his new favourite phrases are “I said sorry!” & “I’m telling the teachers on you” 😑
Caught him emptying the shampoo into the bath to make bubbles, queue “I said sorry”. Realise now that I sounded like my mum when I replied “But that doesn’t make it okay” 😂
A bit annoyed about the shampoo as it’s hard to find for some reason, it’s only vosene kids 3-in-1 shampoo but not the cheapest either. Think the only place I can find it now is Bodycare. DS managed to empty half the bottle. 🤦🏻♀️Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Working late shift today & tomorrow, the worst part is having to get up early to get the kids ready and take DS to nursery. He wants to walk most mornings now so at least I’m getting exercise but it is tiring.
Both kids slept through last night so fully prepared for at least one of them to wake up at 3am. 😭 It seems to unsettle them a bit when I go to work which doesn’t help.
Went to the chiropractor yesterday, have put the claim in to get the money back through the work health scheme that I pay into.
Housework the last 2 days has mainly consisted of washing. Stripped and remade the kids’ beds yesterday then washed the sheets after a dark wash. Today’s washing was a light one followed by the big nappy wash. Tomorrow will be DD’s clothes wash after the nappy prewash.
More cat food ordered today, seem to be spending around £50 p/m on it! To be honest I think it’s really about 6 weeks worth that I order each time but I don’t like to run it right down incase there’s a delay in the delivery.
DH sold a backpack on eb@y that he had bought and used once. It was expensive when he bought it so he got around £60 for it. He paid it off his car loan which is good. 👍🏻I have made another small sale on v!nted so will need to send that tomorrow. I need to go through the kids’ stuff and see if anything else has been outgrown and that can go on there.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Very tired today, it was a struggle getting out of bed but the kids slept fairly well so they were happy enough which made it easier for me to get them both up and ready for the walk down to nursery. Have walked down to nursery 4 days out of 5 which is pretty good, especially when I was working 2 days, got soaked walking there and back 1 of the days which wasn't fun though.
It was lovely and sunny today so I managed to get 3 washings done and out on the line to dry. 2 dried and put away and the 3rd was half dry so have stuck it on the clothes horse overnight. It's meant to be nice again tomorrow so I can hopefully get the big nappy wash out and might strip my bed as well.
Will try to finally pot on my seedlings and get some more seeds sown, I've been lazy about getting started this year.
Put a washing away this morning while the nappy pre wash was on and hoovered upstairs then gave all the bathrooms a quick sink and toilet clean. Will try to get the bath and showers cleaned tomorrow. Really need to defur the couches again and turn all the cushions round.
Was meant to be seeing my friends tonight but one's kid tested positive so we've postponed to next week. Hopefully we can manage it then.
Sold another small item on v!nted, had put a few things on the other day. Have also ordered a dressing gown in a bigger size for DS & a coat for DD. Got some long sleeved tops in the h&m sale for DS in the size up as well and an outfit for part of my niece's birthday.
I have so many presents to buy in the next 2 weeks - our friend's daughter's birthday, mother's day (my mum wants bedding plants and a garden fork 😂), I have left MIL for DH to sort out and then one of my niece's birthdays and my sister's birthday as well.
The outlaws have announced they are descending on us in May - the usual "tell us what dates suit you" DH tells them dates that suit "that doesn't suit us, we want to come up....blah blah". Well DS will be at nursery 1 day and I'll be working 2 days of their visit. 🙄 They always visit when I'm working early shifts, I'm already grumpy on early shifts then have them to deal with. 🤦♀️ Can't wait to hear what they'll be criticising us for this visit! They wanted to take us out for dinner if my mum could watch the kids(!) but my mum is in London for my cousin's wedding on the outlaws desired dates so no dice. What a shame. 😐Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. 😂 SA, "Let me check my diary - yep NEVER suits me just fine thanks" 😂 They are just hard work and DH will end up silently seething at them as they criticise our whole life.
