I don’t know if it was a thing at the time or just my family, but a trip to the skips was a real treat. We hunted for treasure. Many a cherished toy was fished out of a skip.

😂 paws, I don’t remember ever going to the dump. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I always enjoyed a good jumble sale though, I came home with random records and all sorts when I was about 11. I was such an odd kid.

Looking unlikely that I can return the replacement teepee as the original order is outwith the return window. I’m going to save up some vouchers and buy DD the one that DS has as it’s much better quality. I could try to sell the other one on if I can’t return it, it’s brand new in the box after all. 🤔 I’d be happy to even get £10 for it tbh.

Thanks Beanie, it’s worth a try.

I came across DS’s half-filled in baby book when moving things for DD’s new room. I have to finish filling it in, add some photos and then get one for poor DD as she doesn’t even have one. 😂

Have hung up the nappy wash, hung up the white/lights wash and also washed the towels, they had to go into the tumble dryer as it’s wet again outside. Also cleaned the patio doors of little hand & face(!) prints and DH cleaned the tv screen. DD has a bad habit of touching the tv atm and is still in the stage of standing as close to it as humanly possible.

Picked up my mum yesterday and she came up to see the kids and DD’s new room. We will see her again tomorrow as she’s going to come to the library with me & the kids to return DS’s books and get some more out.

I have done a few surveys today but otherwise have been a bit lazy again. Hoping I’ll have a bit more get up and go tomorrow. I did walk down to nursery to collect DS today, on the way back he was demanding that I pick him up. I don’t think I would have got very far carrying him, I couldn’t even carry DD that far anymore and uphill as well. 😱😂

I’ve still got my kid’s baby books. They’re lovely to look back on, they grow up so fast. DIL thinks DS’s baby book is hilarious 😆

SA 👍🏻 that’s why I want to get one for DD, they are nice to look back at. Although I also need to get the baby books filled out before I forget most of the stuff I need to add!

I have sold the extra/unwanted teepee tent for £10, at least I’ll get something back. Should have enough vouchers to buy the same one DS has soon enough.

Have had to cancel our library visit today as my mum had an eye test yesterday and her optician has now tested positive for covid. 🤦🏻‍♀️ The library is only open 2-5pm and I can’t take both kids on my own, it would be utter chaos. 😱

DS was not happy and had a screaming tantrum. Once he calmed down DH let him play Mario Kart as compensation.

I finished up a bag of sausage rolls from the freezer for the kids lunch and while the oven was on I made a coconut loaf cake and stuck that in.

Got some jelly made and into the fridge to set for the kids. I use the wee individual pots with lids and the kids love eating jelly out of them. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I also got a chilli started in the slow cooker for tomorrow’s dinner. That used up mince from the freezer, an elderly red pepper and 3 onions from the fridge along with 3 garlic cloves and a tin of chopped tomatoes along with the cumin & chilli powder.  I’m going to add a tin of kidney beans and a tin of baked beans an hour before the end of cooking to pad it out a bit and have some red lentils I could chuck in. Unsure if they would need extra liquid added as well though. 🤔

While I was in the freezer I disposed of some black bananas from 2020! 😱 Also found a small amount of garlic cloves from March last year so chucked those too. Really need to do a proper check of what’s in there.

Housework wise all I have done is hung a washing up, put one away and done the nappy prewash. Then washed 2 lots of dishes from breakfast and the cooking/baking.

Will try to give the bathrooms a wipe later but feeling really achey and tired today. Took an LFT which was negative.

I ordered a yoto player the other day for DS’s birthday in June as they have a good offer with money off. I got a player, jacket, starter pack of cards, a set of fairytales and the enormous crocodile story for £35 less than usual. We have money saved for birthdays so I just bought it. Will open & check it all though just in case!! It means we can just get him a Lego set or something nearer the time and that’s his birthday presents done.

ALL that you have done! That is a huge amount of cooking and housework - no wonder you're tired and achey.... Try to have a rest if that's possible.

Hi Scottiedog, thanks 😊 I have had a lazy-ish afternoon as sat down and booked the food shop delivery for next week and did the shopping. No doubt DH will have things to add!

I have also done another washing & hung it up. I put the previous wash away as it had dried on the heated airer in the meantime.

Will need to get the kids’ dinner sorted soon, then it will be bath & bed for them. I can set the robot hoover up to mop and hoover whilst I’m doing bath & bed.

Afterwards I’ll get something to eat and then try to do a bit of bedtime yoga and relax with the cats.

  • Great deal on the Yoto player, well worth snapping up early.

Hope you manage to have a relaxing evening.
