I have been busy all day today getting the Christmas tree and decorations down plus doing the usual housework. DH helped me with the Christmas tree and he took down the lights (both indoor & outdoor).
I bought some new storage bags for the Christmas stuff hoping that it would cut down on the amount of bags/boxes I had to store. 👀 Oh well down to one big Christmas tree box, one big storage bag, 2 bauble cubes, a large wreath bag and 2 big bags for life. 😂
The cupboard that it's all stored in looks horrendous as the suitcases and cat boxes are also in there and it's where our coats and shoes are stored downstairs. 😱 That cupboard is the bane of my life.
I also managed to strip and change all of the beds, put the sheets in the washing (still to be dried), do the big nappy wash, hang it up, put away DS's washing from yesterday and hang up our washing.
I had to pack all the kids overnight stuff as they are staying with my mum tonight due to both DH & I being early shift tomorrow. They have been dropped off with all their stuff now so DH & I are having a bit of peace before dinner.
I don't think I sat down until 3pm today as I managed a bit of speed walking with Rick as well this morning. DD joined in for a bit and DS joined in at the end for the 15 seconds of running. 😂
Getting up at 5am is going to be painful. I'm going to try to do some yoga and have a shower after dinner and go to bed at a decent time. I'll need to get my overnight oats and lunch for work sorted so I can sweep it all into my bag in the morning.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. I’ve got an under stairs cupboard that sounds just like yours, the cupboard of doom. However many times I sort it out it gets messy again.I’ve recently discovered another brilliant You Tube dance/Zumba workout - Zumba Sulu, he’s really good and easy to follow 😊I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Thanks Beanie, chilling out just now with Old Cat but going to do some yoga then head for my shower soon.
Willow, I hate early shifts, I would happily never see 5am again. 😂 I’m not a morning person at all!
SA, yes that sounds like my cupboard - I hate opening the door because it looks so messy but we’re in and out of it several times a day for coats/shoes/bags.DS can’t reach the hooks to hang up his jacket so opens the door and throws it in or shouts on me to hang it up. His shoes just get launched in!
Thanks for the y0utube recommendation, I’ll have a look. 👍🏻Forgot to mention that I went to Mr M’s yesterday with DS on the way to my mum’s house.
I got some Christmas cards for next year for 30p and 60p and a Spider-Man set of bath crayons for £2. They will do for either DS’s birthday or next Christmas.
DS also got a Paddington drinks bottle as it was also reduced to £2. All DS & DD have done since is fight over it, I wish I’d bought 2!!
Velvet, I have downloaded an app to help me track my fasting and managed 15 hours 30 mins today as I was busy all morning.
I also sold a furry hoodie of DD’s that just wasn’t worn much on Vinted and made the princely sum of £2.50. I paid the postage with the stamps earned from the RM survey though so no cost there and will get the cash for the postage. 👍🏻Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Managed to do 30 mins of yoga last night, it was good to stretch out but was hard going because I’ve not done any for ages.Went to bed too late 😭 so will need to be in bed by 10pm at the latest tonight. Will need to go out on my break to try and return/exchange pjs and a top MIL bought for DH & I for Christmas. Both are in the wrong sizes but she only sent one gift receipt so not sure if I’ll get a credit note for the pjs or not. Also need to buy a sandwich as I brought a bagel to work but forgot to bring anything to put on it! 🤦🏻♀️After work I need to collect an order from Mr A’s (storage for DS’s tiny, tiny bits of Lego that he keeps losing) and get a couple of things for dinner. Then will pick the kids up from my mum’s, get home and sort out all their stuff. Move a washing from the wm into the TD and put another washing on. Then dinner to sort and clothes etc for tomorrow.
Also need to put away washing & clear the spare room enough for my mum to get in there & sleep!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
It snowed this morning so that added to the joy of getting DS to nursery. 😩 I took the car as had both kids but the snow stopped and was already turning to slush by the time we got down to nursery.
DD splashed through it all and got her leggings and socks soaked so had to change her when we got back home. She was wearing boots so must have managed to splash the slush over the top of them!
DS had a pj day at nursery so I persuaded him to wear a long sleeved top under the pj top to try and keep him warm as it was a t-shirt style one.
I managed to try out Zumba Sulu, SA. I liked it but it made me realise how uncoordinated I am. 😂 Anyway apart from that I have managed to do the big nappy wash and stick DD's stuff in to wash and DS's clean washing away. Also hung up a light wash this morning on the heated airer, it should be dry by the time DD's stuff is washed.
Feeling very tired today so just taking it easy, it's my great-nephew's 1st birthday party tomorrow so will be taking the kids along to that in the afternoon. There is meant to be some soft play and a bouncy castle so they will enjoy that.

Oh forgot to add that I managed to return the stuff that MIL had bought that didn’t fit and got £28 on a gift card plus 2 kids Christmas jumpers & Christmas pjs in the size up that were in the sale for £5 each.
They were all originally £15 each so a good saving. If I can’t see anything for DH or I to use up the gift card I can always buy something for the kids in the next size.
I have already stashed away 2 pairs of pjs for each child in the size up plus Christmas pjs. They will have 2 Christmas jumpers each as well and all bought on sale or second hand. 👍🏻I need to measure the window of the spare room to work out what length of curtain pole I’ll need plus the size for a roller blind. Planning on buying the curtain pole in the next few weeks, then the roller blind the following month.DD’s new room will then only need a pair of curtains. Hopefully we can sort the room out and get her moved in the spring.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Money wise our debt total is looking to be around the 16k mark now which is better than I thought.
We have a few smallish debts on 0% payment plans. One of which will end in April & the other in November. The November one is currently £280 and is £30 p/m, we have already overpaid it by £100 so it will actually end in October.I’m thinking I should probably overpay this before my big 0% CC so it’s gone.
The extra £30 could then go to the big balance. 🤔 I want to get the big CC down as much as possible though as will probably have to BT it when the 0% runs out in November. 🤔Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. It would feel like a small win to get the card gone a bit earlier so I think I'd choose that option.
Well done on returning the items and getting some good bargains in return. I've held off buying any next size items for Xmas as both my boys are growing so fast they're racing through clothes sizes so going to wait until nearer Xmas for the first year since I've had children.
Lovely you saw a little snow, it's so exciting for the children 😊 there was some in the more inland towns near to us but as we're closer to the coast we've just had a biting wind today x1
