That did make me smile reading about DS slamming the bathroom door...reminds me of the Shirley Hughes stories about Alfie. I think there’s one when Alfie locked himself in and everybody else out!
Hope your DD gets over the chicken pox quickly.

Years ago my DS managed to lock us out of the house. He was inside and got hold of my purse, held a tenner up in a menacing way, he was only about 3 years old. Eventually Mr SA broke the door down. DS still doesn’t believe he could do something so awful 🤣🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Thanks Beanie 😊
🤣 HSL I’ll have to find that story although it might give DS ideas. 🤔 DD is much spottier than DS was, poor wee soul is struggling.
😂 SA, 3 is definitely the age they turn into devils.Happy New Year to you all, thanks to everyone who reads along and comments, always nice to “see” you.I managed to make my red cabbage yesterday but not the cherry cake, will do it this afternoon.
DH & I had a nice evening last night with a few drinks but I had a terrible headache this morning.I really can’t handle drinking more than 3 alcoholic drinks at a time these days and mixing alcohol was a bad idea too. I had honey rum in a frozen shooter glass (so nice) then gin, beer, 2 or 3 cocktails and then a chocolate orange (fake) Baileys. No wonder my head hurt!
I got my PCR back and it was negative and LFT negative again this morning so looks like I’ve dodged covid again this time. 👍🏻Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Pleased you've dodged Covid, hope the headache eases.
Happy new year xx1 -
Well done on the weight loss! Do you use an app to track your intermittent fasting? I've found that it really helps me to remember that I'm fasting and push a couple of extra hours.

Glad the PCR was negative. Read an interesting article this evening...apparently there are quite a few people who have been in close contact with Covid -some several times - but not caught it.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x2 -
Hi all, thanks for dropping in.
The headache did ease after I got going, Dancing, thankfully! I managed to make a cherry cake, it was less dry this time as I used a bit of milk to loosen up the mixture, it's very stiff following the recipe I used. Also made honey roasted carrots to go with dinner and helped DH prep the brussels sprouts.
Velvet, I don't use an app for the intermittent fasting but that is a good idea. I roughly aim for 12 hours fasting but want to try to up it to 14. I do think it helps with the weight loss and makes me a bit more mindful of what I'm eating.
Thanks HSL, I will look out for the book. I wonder if I've just been very lucky or whether there is some kind of immunity. 🤔 I would have thought DH would have been likely to bring it home from work by now to be honest. Happy enough to have dodged it so far, have my booster appointment next week.
Willow, I've heard of a few people with similar cases when close family had it and they still didn't catch it. So odd how it all works.
As I had a negative PCR and we all had negative LFTs my mum came up for new year dinner, the steak pie from the butchers was lovely. DH was in a bit of a huff as he hadn't ordered a big enough pie (in his opinion - he is greedy). We had plenty of side dishes though with the red cabbage, sprouts, carrots, roast potatoes, new potatoes & yorkshire puddings!
Poor DD has the chickenpox much worse than DS had it, she even has a spot inside her lower eyelid, ouch. Most of her spots seem to be starting to dry up so fingers crossed she's feeling better soon.
Today I've done some GFWR then used the upholstery tool on the big hoover to de-fur the couches and turned all the cushions around. Also did the big cat litter clean out and a few washings.

Sashybo - the no presents rule (you know, the one I broke this year), was the best thing we ever did. Saves all the stress, expense, awkwardness and resentment. Tell them its up to them if the want to carry on buying for GKs but that adults will no longer exchange gifts. Knock off lego!
What is GFWR please?Debt Jan 2017 = £42kMay 2022 = £15k1 -
Bop that’s a good idea, the outlaws never know what to buy us and we never know what to buy them anyway! Also they always give us money for the kids savings which I prefer anyway. They often gift us some money too but then put silly notes on the cheque saying “please spend wisely” 🤣
GFWR is just my shortened version of Get Fit With Rick. He does walking videos to music on Y0utube. SA recommended him to me - it’s much more fun than it sounds! The kids love it and join in with me, they like to march and then freestyle dance, especially DD. 😂Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
