I need to focus on my big CC balance to get it down as much as possible before the 0% deal ends next November.

I don’t think I’ll pay it all off by then but the lower the balance the better. I’ll probably need to do a balance transfer.

We have around £250 on 0% on separate finance as well. I need to check the monthly payment amount for that but think it should be paid off by June/July if not overpaid.

I think it’s better to overpay the larger 0% balance though if I can. Hoping to split my survey money between that & Christmas 2022 savings.

Speaking of next Christmas my oldest nephew will be 21 so I think I’m going to stop buying him a present. I might get a wee token thing for him & his gf but will mainly buy for their wee boy.

DH wants to overpay on his car loan if possible as we’re facing a bit of a nightmare with an emissions zone charge starting next year.

He drives in/out of work in the city a lot as he’s a shift worker and starts/finishes when there is no public transport so has no choice but to use the car.

Due to the age of his car and because it’s a Diesel engine the charge will be pretty bad.

Ideally we’d get a hybrid or electric car but they’re sooo expensive and obviously we’re still paying the loan for the current car! Always something. 🙄

  • Emission charges are tough especially if you can’t afford to upgrade the car.

I’m sure you’ll get the payments down quite quickly!

Thanks Willow, the emissions charge just feels very unfair, we can’t afford to change the car or we would! DH also has no choice but to use it as he can’t get to work or home afterwards due to his shift times. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I managed to marzipan my mini Christmas cakes yesterday so they are all wrapped in tea towels now drying out in the cupboard.

DS is a lot better and his spots seem to be drying out so hopefully he can go back to nursery on Monday and not miss the Christmas party. He seems to have had a very mild case of chickenpox.

DD is being very grumpy and obviously isn’t feeling very well. 😞 Think she is probably coming down with the chickenpox but no obvious spots yet. Will need to cut her nails to minimise scratch damage.

  • Ah no. DD had chicken pox over Christmas once, hers was mild too x

Thanks Willow, DS was back at nursery today as his spots have all dried up. 🎉 He was so happy to go this morning and was in a good mood when he came home so he’s obviously missed it.

He finishes for Christmas on Wednesday & my mum is going to collect him and keep him overnight.

I’m working late shift Wed/Thurs and DH needs to drop his car at the garage tomorrow as there is a clunking sound  coming from one of the wheels whenever it’s in full lock. 🤔 Hopefully nothing serious.

I did some walking workouts with Rick this morning after dropping DS off. Have been slacking off on the exercise recently so need to get back to it as I feel so much better after doing it.

I have done a couple of washings, one hung up, one put away & the nappies in the TD and have given all the bathroom sinks and toilets a quick clean.

Also de-furred the couches as the cat hair was horrendous (light coloured cat hair on navy couches 🤦🏻‍♀️). I used the lint brush plus the upholstery attachment on the big hoover. Then swapped/turned all the cushions around.

Whilst I was doing that I had Eustace (our robot hoover) doing his stuff upstairs.

Was knackered after all that so had a wee lie down on the couch while DD had her nap.

Oh forgot to mention that I cashed out on Vypr and am £1 from cashing out on OP. I have £8 in my personal account so once my £5 from Vypr arrives I will send £10 to CC & £3 to Christmas 2022 savings.

I also have £14 on prolific so will probably cash that out.

I have started my Christmas 2022 savings by rounding down all the odd pence in my various pots and current account. Have the grand total of £2.69 in there.😂

I’m aiming to get to £10 survey money before paying it off the 0% CC so any odd amounts can go into the Christmas savings. So the prolific money will be split £10 to CC, £4 to Christmas savings.

I almost got to halfway of my £500 Christmas savings target this year. It definitely helped.

Hopefully I can get the full £500 next year as it would pay for almost everything (probably need an extra £50 for butcher meat & steak pie for new year!).

I also need to curb my spending on silly and/or unnecessary things.

We want to do up our spare room for DD to move into as her current room will be too small as she gets bigger. It will need a curtain pole, roller blind, curtains and some wall stickers to make it more child friendly. I’m leaning towards sparkly and/or unicorns as DD loves both of those!

Also want to get a new mattress for our bed plus various other things for the house. The only way we can get these things is by cutting down on the silly spending. DH will need help with this too. 🙄

  • A sparkly unicorn room sounds so fun! Not sure if you have it over there but I've seen that Dulux does glitter paint for walls. It's actually quite nice and not as obnoxious as it sounds haha.

I'm glad DS is feeling better. Kids go downhill quickly but they soon bounce back.

Have you done Rick's Christmas walking workout, the new one he does with his wife? It's only a short one but it's brilliant.

Hi Velvet, glitter paint sounds nice, maybe I could do the big wall in it. 🤔

SA, yes I did the new Christmas walking workout, it was good! My DD loved watching it 😊 she loves Rick though anyway. 🤣 She says mummy is dancing when I’m doing his workouts, she loves the music.

I have got the survey money through that I was waiting on, so £20 paid off the big 0% CC and the Christmas 2022 fund is up to £9.99. 🎉

I managed to get the icing onto my Christmas cakes before work today. Gave one to my mum and took another into work. They are a bit “rustic” looking to say the least 😂 hopefully they will taste nice though.

My mum collected DS from nursery and is keeping him overnight. He was so excited about it this morning but kept saying he would miss me. He’s such a wee sook. 🥰
