My MIL was meant to be coming up for a visit today for 3 nights but she called DH this morning and cancelled because his dad isn’t well. He’s been on antibiotics since last weekend for a kidney/bladder infection but now they think it could be kidney stones. She doesn’t want to leave him so decided not to visit.
DH was pretty annoyed as he was looking forward to seeing her and thinks she’s overreacting about his dad. I think it’s entirely in character as she always puts her husband before everyone else. 🤷🏻♀️ However I’m not complaining about escaping a visit. 😂
We have changed DS’s toddler bed for a big single bed. It looks huge in his room & so high up. The single bed was the one I bought for when he was staying at my mum’s and as she now has a daybed we brought it back to ours. DS is delighted with it so that’s good.
We will store the toddler bed until DD needs it next year when she moves into a bigger room. Planning on moving DS into the current “guest” room and DD into his current room. We’ll have a king size bed & mattress to get rid of - can maybe sell the frame but will need to ditch the mattress as it’s years old.
Had to rearrange DS’s room a bit and now have an IKEA Poang seat, toddler bed frame & mattress and baby gate to add to the mess in the “guest” room. We really need to tidy out the shed and maybe shift some of the stuff in the guest room out there as there’s still some of DH’s stuff from the garage conversion in there!
I have sold one of DS’s old jackets & his old puddle suit on Vinted. Only £8 altogether but better than nothing & the buyers are getting a good deal! I have bought a few more things for the kids on there too and they’ve all been in great condition.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hi all, thanks for dropping by. I actually like just opening the door and looking at my cupboard, at least one room that is actually tidy in this house!
I have sold another puddle suit on Vinted for £4 but have bought some clothes & a Halloween outfit for DS so the money will go towards that.I’m going to put myself on a buying ban from there now! I have bought a Christmas jumper for DS, Christmas pjs for both, a Christmas elf dress & leggings for DD, some shirts & smart jumpers for DS, a party dress for DD, Halloween outfits for both, winter jackets for both, a coat and light raincoat for DD, wellies for DS, a soft toy minion as part of DS’s Christmas presents and a bundle of my little ponies as part of DD’s birthday. That has all cost just over £100 though so good value for money. It’s all been in lovely condition too so far although the minion toy is a bit smoky smelling. I currently have him in a paper bag with coffee grounds to try & absorb some of the smell but think I’m going to have to soak and handwash him. I only paid £3.40 for him including postage so I don’t mind de-smoking him and have plenty of time before Christmas to get it done.I have also sold a few things - cloth nappies, DS’s old jacket and puddle suits that don’t fit DD (she’s much taller at the same age!) and have uploaded some of his old Clarks baby shoes, baby sleeping bags and a cot quilt. If they don’t sell I’ll add them to a charity bag.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Last post was getting a bit long!I had my second Covid vaccination jag on Thursday morning and was feeling so achey and tired that night, my joints were really sore. I had no reaction at all to the first jag.Typically on Thursday night DS was sick all over his new bed so I had to get up to help strip & remake it while feeling like death. 😭 Poor DS had a bit of a temp and a sore tummy so changed him as well and dosed him up.
DH took the bedding and pillow down to put it in the washing machine. Luckily the duvet was spared but the sheet, duvet cover, mattress protector, pillow & pillowcase were all covered.
I then realised I didn’t have a spare mattress protector for the new bed and also needed a replacement duvet that isn’t too warm (the bargain £5 one I bought is 10.5 tog). DS refused to just have a flat sheet so I was glad his duvet wasn’t sicky.
I spent most of Friday feeling very tired but was a lot better by that night. DS was still not great yesterday and was a bit sick again but I think that was due to not eating much then DH gave him milk at breakfast. He wasn’t sick again all day and managed to eat a bit more.
Housework wise I hoovered upstairs and gave half of the en-suite a clean, need to finish that today and do the big bathroom too.
Managed my workout in the morning, tried a different walking video with a very enthusiastic American lady, her channel is grow with jo (I think). She doesn’t talk all the way through though, just at the start. I quite liked her workout so will try more, I was definitely sweating by the end of it.
I should really get back to sleep for a while, was up with DD. She was having a tantrum crying and demanding medicine then throwing herself around the cot banging her head dramatically. 🤦🏻♀️ She is very strong willed and hard work at times.DH went to stay over at his friends house for the night as his wife & kids are away. I would kill to have a night of uninterrupted sleep!!
Back to work for two late shifts for me tomorrow. I’ve been off for near enough 3 weeks although it doesn’t feel like it.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
