You and me both having a tough time with the OHs. Glad you got to see your friends. I’d be tempted to take your mum up on the offer of watching the kids, it sounds like you need a break away from everything. Take care x

Sorry to read you’ve been having a tough time. Accusations like that can  sting ...I was  accused of that and my response was similar....didn’t have the time or energy!!

Lovely that you have been able t9 have friends round. After so much lockdown disturbance, it makes simple pleasures like socialising with friends, so special.

Your mum sounds a gem, I would take up her offer to give yourself some time over the  summer holidays.

Hi Sashy. Sorry to hear that things are a bit rough for you at the moment. I hope it gets better for you soon. I think the last year has been really hard on everyone's relationships. It's just a rubbish time but nasty remarks like that certainly don't help. Take your mum up on her offer and take some time to do things for yourself

    Hi all,

Thanks for stopping by and the support. DH has admitted he is a plonker and has grovelled but he is still having wee strops most days. This isn't helped by the fact that he has now hurt his back and has had to be signed off work. 🙄 So not getting much of a break from each other right now which isn't ideal. I like to have a bit of "me time" when he is at work!

I have booked a dinner out with two of my oldest friends next week and my mum is watching the kids as DH is rostered to work (if his back is better, fingers crossed). Either way I'm getting out for a couple of hours! 🥳

DS is playing up a lot just now and I think he's missing the routine of going to nursery. 😩 He is just really hard work, not listening, answering back and calling everyone a bum. 🤦‍♀️  This of course is causing DH to be even more wound up and it's just exhausting.

My mum took both kids and kept them overnight on Saturday so we could have a break. It was nice just to relax and chill out a bit.

I bought a new fancy set of scales as decided my clothes were really getting too tight and I needed to know exactly how overweight I was. I got a shock as I was heavier than I thought and need to lose at least 2 stone. My eating over the last 18 months has been appalling to be honest and I knew I was gaining weight but couldn't seem to care.

I've managed to lose 4lbs over the last week by cutting down on snacking and cutting portion sizes. I've also been roughly calorie counting to keep myself on track and weighing every morning. If I could have a 4lb loss every week that would be great but I doubt that will happen! I definitely feel a bit better for it already.

I have also been trying to walk about more and have been doing a few y0utube videos - 7 min belly fat ones mainly 😂 but also some 15 min walking ones too. I like Lucy Wyndham-Read and find her videos do-able. I have done one every morning for a week now so I need to keep it up. DS has been joining in but DD keeps getting under my feet so I have been escaping upstairs with the ipad to do the workouts since DH is off work.

I can recommend the Get Fit with Rick walking ones on You Tube, he has a step counter and you can choose workouts to suit how many steps you want to do/how much time you have.

In other money saving news I have finally gotten round to looking at vinted and have listed a few of the nappies and wraps that DD has grown out of (she is too tall for some of them!). I have sold 2 of the wraps already for £12 so that's good, the money can go partly towards debt and partly to the Christmas fund.

In less money saving news I have been looking at vinted. 😂 I bought 2 nappies 🙊 but they were a bargain as cost the same for 2 plus postage as it would have for 1 new. I have also bougth a winter jacket for DD for £5 and a winter jacket for DS for £2.50!! Plus postage DD's is around £8 and DS's is around £5! They are obviously second hand but look in good condition, fingers crossed they are fine when they arrive. I might look at selling some of their old jackets and shoes on there as some have hardly been worn. If they don't sell I can always put them in the charity bags.

Glad that you are going out with your friends.
With you on the needing to loose weight front.
Saw pictures of myself yesterday & I look dire.
As you say DS will be missing his wee routine.

Hi SA, thanks for that I will have a look as that sounds good. I have an app on my phone to count how many minutes of brisk walking/slower walking I'm doing but have no way of attaching it to myself in my work out clothes! Holding onto my phone while sweaty and marching isn't great!

I have also ordered new 2 sports bras as I only have one and it's past it and too small, hopefully the new ones fit as I had to guess at the size.

I've been trying to up my iron intake by adding fresh baby spinach leaves to my lunches - I had it in a bagel thin with tuna today and it was actually quite nice. I just need to be organised and plan what I'm taking to work for breakfast/lunch on early shift and lunch/dinner on lates so that I don't buy junk food.

I'm also trying to cut down on carbs which is difficult as I love them. 😭 But I read recently that 50% of women who had gestational diabetes are diagnosed with type 2 within 10 years. 😢 That's pretty scary and not a road I want to go down if I can avoid it.
