Sorry the little ones weren't well. It's pretty awful when they're not well and you are looking after them. There's nothing you can do to help them other than be there. x

Hi all, MIA again due to the kids not actually being better - the virus they have had just seemed to drag on and on, they both seemed better then got worse again. Poor DS was sick all over his bed in the night, he didn't even cry but I happened to check on him and he was sitting up saying he was wet. When I went in I realised it was sick 🤢 and while I was stripping him off he told me to "Get Daddy, daddy can clean that up" waving towards his sick covered bed. 👀 😂 I did was I was told and daddy got the job of stripping and remaking the bed. 😂

It turned out that DS had told DH that his ear was sore when he picked him up from nursery so I phoned the Drs the next day in case it was an ear infection. They told me to just give him pain relief and it should clear up in a couple of days, which it did, apparently it was a post viral thing.

I'd already had to phone the Drs earlier in the week for DD as she just wasn't right, was still having trouble sleeping and seemed to be having terrible stomach cramps. I just had a phone appointment and the Dr prescribed her infacol as he didn't think she would take the tablet he was going to prescribe originally, plus as it was a phone appointment he couldn't weigh her to work out her dosage. I have no idea how much DD weighs either so was no use there. I don't know if the infacol worked or if DD was getting over the bug anyway but she's sleeping a lot better. She's still exhausted though, she's had this bug for about 2 weeks now. 😢

DH ended up getting the bug and was off work all last week with it but his main symptom was a cough. 😱 He got tested but it wasn't covid thankfully and he's back at work today.

I'm just exhausted, I spent most of the day yesterday just dozing on the couch. I had a headache first thing in the morning and later at night where it hurt to move my head at all. I'm pretty sure it's a mixture of stress and tiredness, still not feeling great today.

In better news I have already managed to pay £50 off the 0% CC with survey money and got £25 in vouchers towards DS's birthday. I've bought his teepee and a crocodile teeth game and am considering getting him a small toy garage, I know he would love it and I have £10 in vouchers so it would only cost £10 in real money.

DH & I managed to get out and look at the couch we are considering buying - we both like it and it's very comfy without being too squishy. Now we just have to wait for a furniture event to get some money off before ordering it.

Today I've had slightly more energy so have put on a washing, hoovered downstairs and planted my sweet peas out in the front garden. I have more sweet peas than I need so will ask my mum and SIL if they want them. I also planted some petunias and linaria out in existing pots but need to get a couple of pots prepped and get the rest planted out.

I'm hoping I have enough compost left to get the cucumber, courgette and tomato plants repotted and out into the greenhouse tomorrow. I have sown some runner beans as well now but nothing appearing as yet.

Sounds like you’ve all gone through the mill just lately. Hopefully you’ll all soon be back to full health soon. Oh the joys of young children and the associated bugs they pass round 😆

Thanks SA & Beanie. DS has finally recovered but the rest of us are still not quite there. DD woke up screaming her head off the other night, she was in terrible pain again. 😩 I think it was reflux so have spoken to the Dr again and he has prescribed infant gaviscon to give her at bedtime. She has always had a problem with trapped wind and slight reflux but it was never bad enough to take her to the Drs, this virus just seems to have kicked it up a notch.

My mum also caught the virus from the kids and she has been ill for over a week now. She had a slightly different variant though and had S&D with it. 🤷‍♀️ We don't need any childcare help until this Saturday so she will have a decent rest and hopefully be better for then.

My sister came over the other day and cut an inch off my hair and thinned it out as it was getting bushy. She has just trained in eyebrow tattooing so I have also been drafted in to be practiced on for that. 😱 😂 She's just filling in my baldy patches from over plucking and will give me a better overall shape.

Garden wise, everything is out in the greenhouse now except my runner bean seedlings that have just popped through. I bought a grow bag for the tomatoes and got them into it the other day. I have 4 seedlings, am keeping 2 and have given 1 to my mum and will ask my SIL if she wants the other. I have repotted my courgettes and cucumbers as well and planted out some more of my petunia seedlings. I need to get more compost before I can do much else, I still have a lot of flower seedlings to be potted on.

I want to buy some mint and lavender as mine have died off after a few years and possibly some other herbs. The only ones I haven't killed off are chives and rosemary. I bought myself two fuschias from Mr M last week as they were £1.50 and I don't have any left in the garden.

DH & I have finally started tackling the big pile of turf, soil and debris (mostly rocks, half bricks and slates but also big pieces of tarmac 😱) in our back garden that was left over from digging a trial pit for the structural engineer (for the summer room that is currently on hold, no idea when it will get started, I'm guessing autumn/winter but who knows) and also from digging out part of the front garden to put our hedge in. We have bagged up most of the rubble, although there is still a lot to go and we need to get the turf & soil bagged up as well so we can get rid of it.

Hope you're all better soon, what a rough few weeks for you all I bet you're exhausted! Well done on paying the survey money off the credit card and DS's gifts sound fab!
Hope the eyebrow tattooing goes well, you're braver than me as there's not a chance I'd trust my siblings with that job  :D
