Hi all, just checking in. Outlaws have been mildly annoying but not too bad so far, I would still like to have a break though - one full day is enough for me rather than 3. 😢
Honeysuckle that's a good idea about putting some paper up, DD loves using the crayons so doubt she'll stop the wall scribbling anytime soon. 😱
😂 DayDreamer, my sister has always struggled to get her kids in the bath for some reason. Mine love it and don't want to come out. 😱
SA 😂 that's funny about your DD, at least you always knew when she was up to something she shouldn't have been.
Thanks Beanie, still no real side effects and my arm is feeling better now.

So one mildly annoying thing my MIL keeps doing is wearing my garden crocs when she goes out the back and then I don't have any shoes to wear out there! Despite the fact she has worn trainers to come to the house. 🤔 I would understand if they were fancy shoes or something but they're not. It's not the crime of the century but it IS annoying when they all go out into the garden and I can't because I have to go and hunt for shoes to wear.
I'm also sure that both outlaws are trolling us over how to pronounce cotoneaster which is the type of hedging we put in. The last time I mentioned it FIL laughed at me and said I was saying it wrong. They asked about it again yesterday, DH said it the way FIL told us it was said last time and he laughed again, said that's not how you say it and gave us another pronunciation! 🤷♀️
MIL also mentioned a teenage relative and said oh he's saying he's gay now because his dad's GF has a gay son and was basically implying it was because he'd been exposed to a gay person! 😱 I was pretty speechless at that and DH just changed the subject. They are always a bit funny about anyone who doesn't fit their view of the world. 🙄
Today we took the kids out to the transport museum, which they both enjoyed. We had to take 2 trains and then there was a 10 minute walk to get there. It wasn't actually a long journey and the kids were both really good. It was nice to get them out but it was exhausting. The outlaws were complaining that they were tired after being there for less than an hour. 👀
They also keep making remarks about how tiring the kids are when they're not even looking after them. 🙄Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.2 -
Next time that they suggest a visit remind them of how tiring they found the kids and suggest they stay in a hotel or B&B.4

My outlaws were the same. Sadly both no longer with us. We briefly lived with them while we were waiting for our house purchase to go through, what a nightmare that was 😩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

😂 Cranky the best part is that they are staying in a B&B down the road, so they're not even staying with us. They're with us for about 12 hours a day though. 😩 MIL usually comes up every 2 or 3 months on her own and stays with us for a few days and that's a different kind of trial. 🙄 Have had a decent break due to covid!
SA I couldn't even contemplate living with my outlaws, I'm climbing the walls after 3 days when we stay with them. They think I'm weird because I need to have time on my own and don't want to socialise with them the whole time.
Tonight MIL said oh we're tired we'll go after this drink (about half 9ish) and she went to the toilet. FIL got up put his shoes on, said See you tomorrow and walked past MIL as she came out of the bathroom and went out of the front door! 👀 DH said did he just walk out of the front door?? I thought surely not but he had. MIL was scrambling about putting her shoes on and finishing her drink then ran out the door after him. 🤷♀️Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Too funny. Did you help her find her shoes?

What I should have said was for you to tie her shoes for her while she finished off her drink. lol

Hi all, keep meaning to drop in and update but never seem to get round to it.
Eve, it was quite funny, MIL was as confused as DH & I. 😂
So the outlaws were a trial as always, they were harder work in some ways because we have the kids running about now. It's like having actual kids and then a couple of elderly kids. 🤷♀️ 😂 They like to ask personal questions a lot - just as well I'm not overly sensitive really. I was glad when they went home.
I have been trying and failing to get much done at home, I feel permanently exhausted, when I wake up in the morning I just feel tired and that's before I even do anything. 😭
I took the kids to my aunt's house at the weekend so they could play with my nieces and my cousin's DD. It was my cousin's birthday but as there was an afternoon bit the kids were there for that. My cousin's MIL & SIL were quite rude to me over DD running around and kept giving me dirty looks and implying I wasn't watching her. 😠 Excuse my child for being a child! Weird people. My aunt whose house it was just kept said not to worry as she wasn't doing anything wrong, just being a kid! So that was good. 😊
DH & I are going out for our dinner tomorrow night for the first time in well over a year so we're looking forward to that. 🎉 DS & DD are staying with my mum so we will even get a lie in the next morning. 😱 😬Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks Beanie, we had a nice time, it was good to get out on our own.
Have been having a bit of a tough time lately with DH, think we’re both just fed up and he feels ignored. I’ve even been accused of having a secret boyfriend!! 😂 Yeah with all my spare time & energy. 🙄 Silly man. Needless to say I wasn’t impressed with that and still not very happy with him.Had some work friends up for lunch & dinner during the week. They hadn’t seen the kids for ages so had good fun with them.
It also got me moving to give the kitchen & bathrooms a decent clean. I even managed to clean inside the fridge which really needed doing. It was nice to see my friends, DH made some cocktails but I only had 2 and a glass of Prosecco then had to stop drinking as had a horrible headache.
Made my friends take the 2 bottles of wine left over with them when they left as I won’t drink it. Wine makes me ill and I hardly drink it anymore.
Planning on meeting some of my other friends for dinner in a couple of weeks.DS finished nursery for the summer this week so I’ll have less running about as no nursery drop off & pick up. Will need to take DS to see his cousins though so he has other kids to play with.
My mum has said she’ll watch the kids anytime I need a break or want to go out with my friends so that’s good.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
