Lost property is a wonderful place. When one of ds's labelled sweatshirts vanished (which they did on a regular basis) I waited a week then went and swapped the wrong size with the right size from lost property. On one occasion my son came home in an also labelled sweatshirt that belonged to a boy several sizes bigger than him. The sleeves dragged on the floor. Goodness knows how they shoe horned the other boy into the smaller one. Luckily I knew the other boys mother so we were able to arrange a direct swap, sigh.3

Thanks Dancing, Cranky, Willow & SA. It’s not looking good for the return of the jumper so far. 😐
Cranky a good idea about lost property but don’t think there is one as such and we’re not allowed in the building due to the Covid regulations.
Sent a message to DS’s teacher, no reply as yet so said to the girl letting the kids in at the gate & she is going to look but said she hadn’t seen any lying about in there (they usually hang the jumpers up when the kids take them off). So I think someone else has taken it home and the parents haven’t noticed/don’t care. 🤦🏻♀️I’m hoping they just haven’t looked properly like I didn’t until I’d washed the jumper. I returned the wrong jumper today as well.
Hoping to get some tidying up done in the garden today. Managed to get a washing done & hung out plus the nappy wash yesterday. My mum watched DD for a few hours and took her round to the shops in her pram. She said she loved it and was waving & saying Hi to everyone they passed. 😂 She does that when we’re at the nursery too and most people smile & wave back which is nice.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hi Willow, thanks for popping in. I'm mostly annoyed because this jumper was brand new and cost £12 and the nursery have managed to lose it the first time he wore it! 😖 I've nagged them 3 times now and still no post on the parent app asking people to check if they have it. *sigh*
I'm just going to assume it's lost forever and am not buying another £12 jumper to replace it! The colour is light blue so it's hard to find the same shade anywhere as just a plain jumper. I did find one very similar on am@zon for £6.50 so nearly half the price and have already bought one so will just buy another of those as a replacement.
I have sold some of DS's old Clarks trainers and a bundle of DD's 12-18 month size tights on vinted as neither had much wear. Not made a huge amount of money but better than nothing.
DD is nearly 2 and very tall so I've started clearing out any clothes etc that are smaller sizes than 2-3. Anything half decent can be listed and if it doesn't sell after a while I'll put it in the charity bag.
I bought a bundle of vests for her to keep her warmer in the winter, she is getting too big for the ones with fasteners. Currently trying to track down a bundle of age 2-3 tights I have ordered - the app is saying they've been delivered to the shop for collection - the shop is saying the parcel isn't there! 🤷♀️ So annoying, I hope they haven't given someone else my parcel. I'll check again tomorrow, hopefully it will turn up.
Another annoying thing happened yesterday, I was trying to order some teabags, hot chocolate etc to stock up on the twinings website as there is 20% off. Their stupid system was trying to charge me £19 postage (instead of free delivery!!) as it was insisting that my postcode put me in the Highlands & Islands. 😐 Readers, I am NOT in the Highlands & Islands. I can see how it's happened, for some reason their system isn't reading the space between the two numbers of my postcode and is making it the wrong one! DH has sent them an email but the offer will probably be over by the time they reply. 😠Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. That’s annoying about the postcode mix up. I often get a message saying my postcode doesn’t exist when I type it in - really 🤔 Hope you get a speedy response. Can’t believe your DD is nearly 2 already, how time flies.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Hi SA & Beanie, our house is a new build so my postcode didn't exist on lots of websites for a year or 2 when we first moved in, it was so irritating!
Twinings replied to DH and said thanks for letting them know and they have fixed the postcode issue. They also said that if we wanted to place the order they would refund us 20% as the offer had ended. Happy with that, at least they have good customer service.
DS came down with a bad cold on Thursday with a high temperature and a cough so we had to keep him off nursery. Both DH & I were working early shift so my mum had stayed overnight to watch the kids & my sister was going to drop DS off at nursery. But my mum messaged saying DS had woken up coughing and with high temp so I said just keep him off as he'd probably be sent home anyway!
So DS has been off since then, he didn't have a temperature yesterday and is hardly coughing now so think it was just a back-to-nursery cold but gave him a PCR test just in case. That was fun. 😒 I had to wrestle him across the kitchen to try and get the swab up his nose, he was raging. I don't know if I managed to get it up high enough but have sent it back anyway. I think he'll be fine to go back to nursery next week.
It's my older nieces and my other nephew's birthdays at the end of the month so need to get sorted for that. I find it too easy to buy for my older nieces so have bought too much for them, I need to sort out what I have and put some of it aside for Christmas.
I have also bought some Hollister perfumes for them, their brothers and the oldest brother's gf for Christmas. I think I'll use one of the EDT's for my oldest nephew's birthday actually as forgot I hadn't bought his birthday present yet! I managed to get a good deal as got 100ml bottles for £16.50 each then 20% off from escentual.com. It's a good website as there are loads of brands of skincare, perfumes etc and they do 20% off the full site fairly regularly. I can pay for it using my christmas fund as well which is good. 👍
I've also bought some small things from one of the pound toy sites for my younger nieces and DS & DD so think I'm off to a good start. I need to ask my mum what she would like for Christmas as well.
DH & I have decided not to go ahead with the sunroom that we were going to get added to the house. We were only doing it because the outlaws offered to pay for it, we didn't really want or need it and we've decided it will take up too much of our garden.
The outlaws were being really controlling about it and we decided not to play along with them anymore. They can't seem to bring themselves to give us money and let us decide how to use it, they always have to dictate! They were really annoyed when we decided to convert the garage and kept moaning about it because it wasn't their idea. They didn't give us any money towards that though so it was nothing to do with them.
Instead we're going to look at getting new flooring for our living room and kitchen and replacing the existing patio in the garden with something nicer. We have some money put aside so hopefully we can get the flooring done before Christmas but that depends on availability. The patio is something that isn't urgent and can be dealt with next year at some point.
