Thanks guys, I was very pleased with myself. 😂
Today I've put a washing of DS's stuff away, washed the breakfast dishes and hoovered the living room. Hoping to make a chicken and onion pie later as have leftover chicken from the roast DH made yesterday and ready rolled shortcrust pastry in the fridge, just need to make the filling and assemble the pie. We also have leftover potatoes and yorkshire puddings, so practically a whole dinner that just needs heated up.
I also made gooseberry crumble yesterday as we have lots of gooseberries from our bushes and I still have more to pick. I'm freezing them as they won't all get used otherwise.
Have also got £30 of am@zon vouchers from one of my survey sites so have ordered a radiator fan for DD's room. The two back bedrooms (both the kids' ones) get quite cold in the winter and we discovered that a small radiator fan makes a big difference to the warmth of the room as it pushes the warm air out into the room rather than up to the window. We already have one in DS's room but they cost £40 so not exactly cheap, I already had £4 of a gift voucher left over so have only paid £6 "real" money for one. 🥳
I used the other £6 of a gift voucher to buy a 99p kindle book (one I have been after for ages 😁) and some silicone milk bottle tops as we get milk in glass bottles delivered by the milkman.
I did spend around £14 on wax melts for my wax warmer though, which weren't strictly needed. They are a mixture of perfume and house scents (things like febreze, baby powder etc) and they are so lovely. I'd love to make my own once I have the time but it's just not feasible with two young kids. I've already used survey money towards the wax melts so it could be worse.
Ziffit have received my stuff and have rejected some of the books, so I'm only getting £12 instead of £15. Still better than nothing. I'm going to pay £5 of it off the 0% BT on my CC and the rest will go off this month's visa bill so there will be less to pay and we'll be slightly less in the O/D, which we'll be massively into by the time we get paid. ☹️Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Well done with the plans - you`ve made massive progress. Why do you use multivitamins if your DS eats a varied diet?1

Thanks Jan. Multivitamins are recommended for kids up to 5 to make sure they’re getting enough of vitamins A, C & D, especially in the winter. DS had vitamin drops from around age 1 until about 6 months ago in his porridge/cereal then I switched him over to the chewy vitamins to make sure he was getting the full dose.
I’ve managed to get another appointment with the chiropractor before she goes on her annual leave. Not good for my budget but good for my back & pelvis. Need to try and do a bit of yoga, even 10 mins before the kids wake up is something.
Poor DH was starting work at 4am today so he’ll need to nap when he gets home. He’s off the next two days but I’m back at work so he’ll be looking after the kids. I don’t start until 2pm though so he’ll have help for half the day with them.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Glad that you got an appointment too.
I give DD vitamins as well. I have done since she was younger too. She does eat a varied diet, but it is just another way of ensuring that her body has everything that she needs to grow and not end up achy like me!
She quite happily takes them as well, which is another bonus.
Yikes to the 4am start. They are not good. When I was moving round the country, I sometimes had to get up at 4am to go to a job interview down where I was moving too.
Have a lovely day. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Hi all, was at work the last two days on late shift which went fine, it will be good to get back into the routine of going to work. My chiropractor appointment went well and she said everything was much looser and moving a lot better which was good.
When I got home from work at 11:30pm last night both DS & DD were awake. DS was just lying in bed chatting but DD was a bit upset, think her teeth were bothering her. So I had to deal with her before getting ready for bed and relaxing.
Nicnak, DS loves his chewy vitamins, we call them his sweeties and he knows he only gets one a day. 😊 DH has awful shifts and regularly starts anytime from 4am onwards when he's on early shifts. The way they run the shifts as well can mean that he works 9-10 days in a row as well. ☹️ When I was full time I was doing 7 days in a row and that was bad enough.
DS is due to start nursery in just under 2 weeks, luckily when I'm on annual leave so I can go with him for settling in. He is only getting 5 afternoons a week due to covid instead of the full days he should be getting. It means I'm quite restricted as can't go too far as he is only at nursery for 3 hours a day and if we go anywhere in the morning I have to get him to nursery in the afternoon.
Any time is better than nothing though and hopefully the hours will be increased soon. I think he will love nursery once he's settled in. I only get to stay with him on the first day when we're both there for an hour so I hope he enjoys it so much that he isn't too upset the next day when he is expected to stay there by himself for an hour. I'm dreading the thought of leaving him there though as I've never left him with anyone that's not related to me or DH! 😭 It will be good for him to have somewhere to go every day and have other children to play with.
I'm going to try and grow some more african violets from cuttings, the ones I have are ones that I grew originally from cuttings my mum gave me so I should manage it. Just need to get round to doing it.
Will give a couple to my brother & his gf as they've moved into a new house and his gf is desperate for some plants. I'm going to get a couple of outdoor plants for their garden as it's all decking and concrete and she was saying she needs some greenery (which I agree with!).
Today I've done 3 washings, I did hang one out but it started to rain not long afterwards so had to run out and get it in again. I've also hoovered the living room, cleaned out the litter trays and cleaned the bathrooms. DH is going to hoover upstairs and then the stairs once DD wakes up from her afternoon nap.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Wow that time came around quickly for your return to work! Are you able to get into a pattern of regular shifts or do shifts change every few weeks?
I dreaded leaving DS3 when I went back to work after maternity leave but a lot of places now use an online learning journey so that you get email alerts to log in and then you are able to access pictures and information about what they have been up to. That was invaluable to me and was a great help in reassuring me when I was at work. The one DS ‘s nursery used was called “Tapestry”.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . That does seem to be like a long time to go without a break. I don't think I could sustain that. I have done when I was in retail over Christmas but it was exhausting.
I'm sure he will be ok in nursery. He sounds like he needs things happening all the time and nursery has so many toys that he will be able to be occupied all the time. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

I also think he'll thrive in nursery, definitely feels worse for the parent! My DS's nursery also uses 'Tapestry' it's fab for seeing what he gets up to as he never tells me 🤣2

Hi Honeysuckle, Nicnak & Dancing. 👋
Honeysuckle my shifts run over a 6 week pattern so I can plan ahead quite easily as I know what days & times I'll be working which is good but DH's shifts change all the time. I know what days he'll be working (unless he's holiday relief which means his days off can be changed) but not the shift times. 😔 His rosters can be changed at short notice sometimes as well so it can be an absolute pain.
Nicnak, the shifts really are exhausting for DH, it can be difficult to get anything done on his days off because he's so tired.
DS's nursery is a school one and they use the same app as the school and can post stories to it. I don't know how often they use it in "normal" times but have only just been given access. They have chickens that the nursery help look after and bee hives that the school kids help with, as one of the teachers is a beekeeper. That sounds amazing and I'm sure DS will be delighted with the chickens. 😂
I know DS needs to go to nursery, he's more than ready but I don't know if I am. 😂 I just hope he doesn't cry when I have to leave him there because I'll probably cry too. 😩
Dancing, that sounds about right, kids never tell anyone anything about nursery or school. 😂 I don't know how many times I've asked my nephews and nieces what they've done at school and they say "I don't know" or "I can't remember". 🙄 😂
Both DH & I are working late shifts tomorrow, so my mum is coming up to our house to watch the kids. It means she'll have to do dinner and bedtime on her own with them both, this is the first time she'll have done it. I'm sure she'll be ok but feel like it's a lot to ask of her, especially as she's watching them again for me on Wednesday so I can go out to the retirement dinner.
I've gotten a small amount of money from surveys and selling more books/dvds to MM so have paid half off my barclaycard and half off this month's CC bill, only £7 off each but better than nothing.
The outlaws transferred £5K to DH as part of the infamous sunroom money and told him to put it aside. 🙄 I got him to leave some in our joint account so that we don't get horrendous O/D charges this month, otherwise we would have been in the O/D for most of it. We can transfer it out when we get paid in just under two weeks so we'll see how much will actually be paid off the O/D, at least I'll have a much better wage this month which will be a big help.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
