Re climbing plants, have you thought about Jasmine? From memory, there’s a lovely summer flowering one called “ clotted cream” and you can get winter flowering jasmine too. They are beautifully fragrant climbers. Hydrangea petiolaris is also a lovely climber, but not fragrant!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

It is hard for children as they are losing so many skills that they need to relearn. Hopefully nursery will start again soon and he will be able to start socialising and playing.
I bet it was nice for you to have some company too. I know I miss it, and can't wait to start seeing people. It is more difficult not being at work because that adult company has gone now for me. I will see what happens over the coming weeks, but hopefully I will be able to get out and see people. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Hi Honeysuckle and Nicnak.
Honeysuckle, I hadn't thought of jasmine, thanks I'll look into it. 😊 There are so many different plants, it's so interesting finding out about them. It would be nice to get a few more climbers, so a mix of summer and winter flowering would be good.
Nicnak, yes I felt sorry for my DS yesterday. The girls are older and more used playing with other kids but DS didn't know how to join in. ☹️ He's better when they're all outside running around as it's easier to join in then but it was raining so we were inside.
Yes it was nice to see my brother's gf, she is at home with the girls just now as she doesn't go back to uni for a few months yet and obviously the girls aren't at nursery/school. So she's in the same boat as me, we're going to try and get together again next week. It will be good for DS too. My youngest niece didn't want to leave and kept saying "But I like it here! I don't want to go!" then she demanded a mini packet of raisins before she'd leave. 😂
I've got another KIT day tomorrow and then on Monday and then the following week I'm back at work properly. That came round quickly but to be honest I'm partly looking forward to it as I'll have a couple of weeks to get used to being back then 2 weeks of annual leave to hopefully get DS settled into nursery (depending on the dates we get given for that).
I need to try leaving the kids with my mum soon, especially DD as she's only been left with my mum once when she was a lot smaller. DS will be fine but a bit worried that DD will get upset. Once DS is at nursery as well she'll sometimes be with my mum on her own so that will be something else for her to get used to.
I had to stop my post last night a bit abruptly as DD woke up crying, think her teeth were hurting her again. I had to give her calpol and a bottle to settle her again and halfway through her bottle DS started crying. DH was snoring away and didn't wake up so I had to leave DS crying for 5/10 mins whilst DD finished her bottle. 😩 DS said he woke up because he heard the baby crying and then he got scared. ☹️ He's started talking about scary lights and monsters recently, so think his imagination is starting to kick in. He went back to bed quite happily after having a cuddle for 10 mins and didn't wake again until 8am. DD also slept through after that which was good. 👍Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Aw poor DS. It's awful when they start to get the scared phase. DD is having nightmares at the minute and I can't stop her. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

You do really well to get so much done with two very young children. There's only 2 years between mine and I remember only too well trying to juggle childcare, housework and work. It used to take forever just to get out of the door some days. Any jobs you can do around the house/garden are a bonus.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Hi Nicnak & SA, thanks for popping in.
Nicnak, your poor DD. I think DS has partly cottoned on that if he says he's scared then I feel sorry for him and stay with him longer. 😂 He's a wee monkey.
Thanks SA, it feels a bit never ending just now but I know the time does go quickly really. Soon enough they'll both be in school and I'll probably still have a riot of a house. 😂 Oh well, as long as the basics are done then it doesn't really matter.
Have had a busy few days so haven't updated. Work on Friday was fine and I went to Mr M's on the way home. I bought myself an Aloe Vera plant, a honeysuckle (red world) and a clematis (mixed blue I think) as the climbing plants were only £1.80. Unfortunately I somehow managed to spend £80 on a variety of things so am now banned from "just having a look". 😱
I have put the climbers into bigger pots in the garden for now until we can prep the area for them to go into. The Aloe Vera is sitting in my bedroom on top of my tall chest of drawers next to my baby Yoda soft toy that DH bought me (I'm such a child). The plant looks very pretty and complements baby Yoda's skin nicely. 😊
On Saturday we visited friends who we haven't seen for 6 months now! It was nice to see them and DS mostly enjoyed himself with their DD's but they were being a bit bossy with him as they are (almost) 7 and 8 so a lot older than him. He was so funny on the trampoline as he still can't quite figure out jumping, he was kind of bouncing/cantering. 😂
We had a quieter day yesterday and did a bit of work in the garden and dug up our early potatoes. We got about a bucket full which we're happy with. 👍

I got some potatoes too, but the carrots weren't ready. I have dug up the potatoes now ready to put some paving slabs down and have the garden changed. I am not sure what I am going to do with it!
I also can't have a look either. I always end up spending so much too.
I do like an aloe vera plant though. I have one at home too. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Hi Beanie & Nicnak.
Well done on your potatoes Nicnak, I've never tried growing carrots but something to try in the future. I love putting new things into the garden, I'm sure you'll get it sorted how you like it.
I think I have very little self-discipline when it comes to browsing in shops. 👀 My aloe vera was only £3.50 though, so not too bad.
I also found some plants online and ordered those, it was quite a lot cheaper as they apparently buy the surplus plants from big suppliers and sell them on cheaper. I ordered a few heucheras of different colours, a wintering flowering jasmine, a californian lilac (not sure how it will fare in my rather windy garden 🤔), a pittosporum victoria, 2 small holly plants and a nandina firepower shrub.
Hoping to get most of them into the new bed in the garden, which still hasn't been dug as DH can't get boards for the bottom of the fence for love nor money - they're out of stock everywhere. 😖 So the new plants have been moved into pots to keep them happy until they can be planted properly.
I want to put the winter flowering jasmine nearer to the house and maybe some of the heucheras into pots.
I went to the chiropractor yesterday for the first time in ages and my back and pelvis are a bit of a mess again. Going back at the end of the week, not ideal as it's £37 per appointment. 😱 And I can't claim any of it back from my work health plan as have used the full allowance for the year already. ☹️
My back has been pretty sore since, I think I had just got used to working around the pain so wasn't noticing it as much but obviously being adjusted has caused me to notice it again. I need to get back into doing some yoga again as that will help a bit.
Went for lunch two days in a row, with my work friends on Monday which only cost £10 each as we had a leftover kitty from our last time out in February and with DH yesterday. It was nice to get a bit of a break and the food was lovely. Both restaurants I was in were pretty busy.
My mum watched the kids yesterday at our house, DD was absolutely fine and it was DS who kicked off when we left! He was crying because he wanted to go in the car rather than crying because we were leaving though. 😂Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
