You’re doing the best you can given the current situation. My DS used to be very challenging with lots of tantrums when he was a toddler whereas DD was a lot quieter and very clingy. Fast forward to the teenage years and they were both extremely challenging to say the least. However, they both turned out fine in the end, it’s a wonder my hair isn’t white with the stress though 😱

    Hi Nicnak & SA,

That sounds tough Nicnak, my DS is usually a bit unsure of people he doesn't know at first so will hang back a bit but then will join in after a while. He was quite funny with one of my aunts as he's met her a few times but doesn't really know her. When we went to her house he practically sat on my knee for the first half an hour before relaxing. The next time we went he ran straight in and was quite happy there.

Thanks SA, kids are such hard work sometimes. 😯 I only started getting white hairs after having DS. 😂

Managed to hoover the house and clean the bathrooms today so pleased with that. DH made eggs Royale for breakfast and a chicken pad Thai for dinner, they were both lovely. 😋

DS was falling asleep on the couch after dinner so was very grumpy going into and out of his bath. ☹️ He cheered up after I dried his hair and we read some stories. We had a cuddle and he was chatting away about his day to me. He was talking about our walk today and then told me "Don't throw stones" 🤷‍♀️ 😂 So he does listen but just chooses to ignore me. 😂 Then he was telling me that daddy was downstairs and baby was sleeping in her cot. His words are getting so much clearer and it's so nice having conversations with him. 😊 It helped me to remember that he is nice sometimes. 🤣

I used to say to my DS that I always loved him but I didn’t always like him!!

  • I do enjoy reading your diary @sashybo everything you say about the children sounds like me with my 2 this time last year x
@beanielou I said exactly the same to DS1 yesterday as he was in a particularly argumentative state of mind (4 going on 14), he looked quite shocked bless him 🤣 His favourite thing to say to me at the moment is 'You're not my best friend' if I tell him off. I just reply 'that's right I'm not your best friend, I'm your Mummy' 😉

That sounds lovely. I agree that they have selective hearing. My DD convinced my mum she was colour blind for months till I figured out she was having her on. They're very clever!

    Hi Beanie, Dancing & Nicnak.

It's true that you don't always like your children, Beanie. 😂

Dancing, that's so funny, my DS just keeps telling me to go away if I'm telling him something he doesn't like. 😮 He's so rude sometimes. Today he was throwing stones in the garden (again) and I said if he kept doing it he was going back into the house. After he did it again I said "Do you want to go in then?" And he just turned round, shrugged and went "OK" went and got his drink bottle and let himself in the back door. 😂 Some threat eh? 🤷‍♀️

Nicnak, can't believe your DD convinced your mum she was colour blind. 😂 You wonder what goes through their minds sometimes.

We have had more tantrums from DS coming back from our daily walks, they are getting slightly less severe each day but still happening. I'm exhausted when we get home after dealing with him. 😔

He is really winding me up just now with his feet as whenever I sit on the couch he tries to kick me or put his feet right in my face. It makes me irrationally angry, I spend so much time every day telling him to put his feet down and keep them out of my face. Does he listen? Nope. 😖

Had a video call with two of my friends from work last night, was nice to talk to them, we were talking for nearly 3 hours. 😯 To be fair, we haven't spoken for weeks so had a lot of nonsense to talk. 😂

Got out into the garden today and repotted some more courgette seedlings that have popped up, I now have 4 altogether. 😀 Since I also bought more courgette seeds I've sown a couple of yellow courgettes too.

I had a look at my padrons and I think they are germinating very slowly as can see a bit of green. I have sown some more just in case, including a few in the heated propagator. I also got some runner beans sown and some calendula and verbena.

I repotted the remaining house plant that was infected with the fungus gnats as they were still there, hopefully that will get rid of them.🤞

Need to stop eating so much rubbish as have put on weight and am feeling quite fat. ☹️ I keep trying to justify it by saying well I only had a baby x number of months ago. 😂 I think that only really works for the first few months, DD is nearly 7 months old now. 👀 I have a proper roll of fat now so really need to stop stuffing my face and start exercising. 😢

I hear you on the weight. I have gained half a stone, which is a lot for me and means I need to start eating like I should. I have just decided to have time off my restricted diet, but I can't do that.
    Have a lovely Saturday x

Hi Nicnak, I think I've gained at least half a stone, if not more. 😭 Doesn't stop me comfort eating chocolate after a hard day with the threenager though. 👀 😂 I'm not sure how accurate my scales are either so I don't have a clue how much I weigh, this is probably a bad thing as I usually need a visual scare to get me going (apart from the roll of fat).

Got up and did an hour of yoga this morning, feeling better for it although my hip was making a weird clicking noise throughout. 😱 It didn't hurt, it was just really loud! It stopped by the end of the practice so hopefully it just needed the movement.

I attempted a pelvic floor centred practice and it just reminded me that I have no pelvic floor or abdominal muscles anymore. 😱 Trying to remind myself that it took until DS was nearly 2 for me to feel like I was nearly back to normal and I've never had anywhere near perfect abs anyway. 😂

Just having a cup of tea then will venture upstairs and see if DH has bothered moving out of his bed to get the kids sorted. I can't hear any movement so I doubt he's even stopped snoring yet. 🙄 The kids are awake and just chatting to themselves, I'll get them soon as they must be hungry.

I went on a bike ride this morning with DD. My legs are now like jelly and she is happily bouncing on the trampoline. x
