Yes cats are not exactly trainable Nicnak! My cats are house cats as they are pedigree so don't go out, my old cat is very stupid so he would probably get run over, big cat would probably be ok but I'd worry too much. My wee cat that died was practically bald and tiny so I couldn't have let her out in any case, she probably would have been the neighbourhood kingpin though as she was so bossy. 😂

There are so many debates about letting cats out or keeping them in. I can see how they would love to go out but I just couldn't do it with my cats, I'd be too scared of them getting lost/being stolen or hurt. They've never been out anyway so it doesn't bother them, I can see how it would be cruel to keep a cat in if they were used to going out. A lot of rescues won't let you adopt a cat if you plan on it being a house cat too, unless there is a health issue.

DS was messing around at bedtime again last night and even once he was in his bed he was making loads of noise and carrying on. DH had the bright idea to talk to DS through the baby camera we have in his room to keep an eye on him.

Well - DS totally freaked out and started screaming. 👀 ☹️ So he was awake for another hour because when I went up he had done a poo (it was disgusting according to DS 😂) and needed his nappy changed, then he wouldn't let go of me or go back into his bed. I ended up having to leave him crying and felt really bad about it so sent DH up. He sat with him for 10 minutes, again he wouldn't settle. We left him for another 10 minutes on his own, hoping that he'd fall asleep but no chance. DH had to go up and sit with him again for 15 minutes until he finally calmed down enough to lie in his bed.

Was feeling really fed up again this morning so DH got the kids up and I had a long lie then a shower. Still not feeling great but a bit better after that. Will need to go shopping in the next few days, not looking forward to that either.

No shopping is dire. I need to go too.

My old boy is 20 next month( I might have mentioned that 😸) & he has always been an outdoor cat.
The only problem now is that he sits at the top of the drive now & won't budge!!

My old cat went a bit dolally in his later years and insisted on sitting in the middle of the cup-de-sac we lived in. The neighbours used to put him on top of my wheelie bin when they wanted to move their cars! He did spend his last months as a house cat as he was too much of a liability.

I did the food shop on Monday thankfully. Next week I'm in work so will quickly do it after work. Some people still don't get it though. I was wanting to open a fridge and one guy just stood on his phone in the way. In the end, I asked him to move very politely. X

😂 Beanie & Piquant, cats are such stubborn creatures at times. The older my old cat gets the more grumpy and stubborn he becomes.

I went to Mr Al's last night once the kids were in bed since DH is still off work with his back. Got there about 8pm and there was no queue and not too busy inside, they had most things but still some shortages. I had to go to Mr M's this morning for pull ups for DS and got there about half 8, again no queue and not too bad inside, although there were more people wandering about and coming too near than in Mr Al's.

Still can't get dried yeast or tomato purée in the shops and there was a big shortage of eggs in Mr M's. I did notice that they were selling bread flour in bakery bags though, so obviously they're not using as much flour in the bakery and are selling it on. It was 60p for 1kg which wasn't bad but I didn't need any.

Haven't done much in the way of housework apart from washings, dish washing and a bit of hoovering. Have been treating my roses as they are already crawling with greenfly. Yuck.
I found a ladybird last week and put it on one of my climbing roses, hoping that it would eat some of the greenfly, I think it did quite a good job but treating it anyway for lurkers. Of course the ladybird is long gone.

A couple of the crystal lemon cucumber seeds have germinated which is good. 👍 My only courgette seedling is loving the sun in the greenhouse and has grown a lot already, I'll need to repot it again soon. Hoping that the other courgette seeds will germinate, think I'd better buy some more just in case though as it was an old packet and only 1 seed out of 6 sown has germinated so far.

I’m always amazed how much you get done despite having two very young children 👏

It's interesting how many supermarkets have different stock levels. I could get everything from lidl (that they normally sell) last week, but Tesco which is a short walk away and on the same retail area has shortages of things you can get in the other store.
    Have a lovely weekend. x

Hi Beanie, SA & Nicnak. 👋

Beanie, my weekend has been a bit up and down. Had a horrible night's sleep on Friday as DS kept waking and DD was up at her usual times of 11pm then 5am. Felt down for most of Saturday and had a bad headache. Had a better sleep last night and felt a bit better today.

SA, I usually feel like I'm on a hamster wheel just going round in circles and never seem to get anything done!

Yes Nicnak, it's odd how the different supermarkets vary.

Have managed to get a lot of washing done and dried in the sun over the last two days. Hoping it stays dry enough to keep hanging the washing out at least a few times a week, it helps the nappies dry much quicker when they're on the line.

DH washed both of our cars yesterday as the birds had pooped all over them. 😠 They're looking nice and shiny now but it did take him about 3 hours to do.

Today I managed to pot up my 3 crystal lemon cucumber seedlings and another variety of cucumber as well. I repotted my big courgette seedling and potted another one which had popped up.

Also planted up 2 hanging baskets with some of my lobelia seedlings and added some linaria to one as well. Somehow managed to do this with DS running around wrecking the garden - he's still obsessed with throwing stones everywhere (especially all over the patio) and pulling all the leaves off my honeysuckle. 😭 The poor thing is getting baldy up to the height DS can reach. 😱

Managed to order some more courgette seeds online and also added some verbena, chamomile and calendula seeds as well. I've never ordered from this place before, so I hope everything goes smoothly and the seeds don't take forever to arrive.

Getting a better sleep and getting out into the garden definitely made me feel better but DS is raising my blood pressure with his antics. 😖

Poor boy is desperate to see his gran and when he found our wedding album the only pictures he wanted to look at were the ones where he could see "gran's house". He wouldn't let me turn the page after that. ☹️

Made blackberry and apple crumble today as had bought some blackberries reduced to 20p a packet. The recipe I used had too much sugar, it was far too sweet when we were eating it and I have a sweet tooth! Would definitely cut down on the amount of sugar next time. DS seemed to enjoy it though. 😮

sashy. When I was much younger, I gave daycare to 6 up to 12 children.  Their moms often commented they couldn't seem to make the children obey. The answer is simple.  They were screaming at them.  The children could hear them over their own screams.  I never raised my voice.  They had to stop the tantrum in order to hear me. Little buggers. lol
My answer to disruptions was to send the child downstairs to the play room.  No yelling, just a very calm 'you don't seem to be enjoying our company, please come back when you feel better.' Worked like a charm and they didn't resent me, often came over on the weekends just to visit Auntie Eve.
