Bob, I think you said you'd decided not to pay for the next term, would it be possible use this term as a break and see how you all feel before the following term? or would it mean losing your son's place completely? When mine finished the karate, it was easy as we paid weekly. So we said that they could pick it up again if they decided too.
YorkshireLass, sometimes somethings just have to give don't theyI did chuckle at the magic cheese, for me it was some weird cereal that my sister gave to us that seemed to go on forever!

Hello FatVonD and hope you don't mind me intruding but thought I'd let you know about a couple of things on our website that might help with your E.ON account. Sorry if you already know.
It's great you're taking meter readings. This is the best way to make sure the bills are accurate and only charging for energy actually used. If you've registered with our website, you can let us have the readings through there and also use a tool called Real Time Billing. Pop in the readings and you can either view the balance these would result in or create your own bill.
You can also take more control over the payment arrangement through another online tool. This is the Direct Debit Manager. Provided you've registered with our website, you can use this tool to change the monthly payments to better suit different circumstances. If the account is billed up to the latest meter readings, payments can be changed by up to 20 per cent up or down. By up to 5 per cent up or down without readings. Before confirming the new amount, we'll let you know by how much we expect the account to be in credit/debit if the payments are changed but usage doesn't alter as expected. There's more about this tool on our website.
The aim with our Monthly Direct Debits is to achieve as near as possible to a zero balance by the annual review. At this review, any credit balance over a fiver will automatically be refunded. If there's a debit balance, this will be included in the ongoing arrangement and spread up to the next review.
Hope this is of some interest FatVonD and a happy New Year.

Hi Malcolm,
Thank you for taking the time to type all this out for me! We have submitted readings before, by text when we moved in and then by telephone a couple of months ago (this was after the direct debit had been put up.)
As soon as my husband gets the new readings I will definitely try doing it online as I like the sound of the real time billing. Presumably it will also tell me which tariff I am on? I signed up for the cheapest (online, when I took over the account in January) and I still have the email confirming which tariff I had chosen but I'm a bit worried I might be on the standard tariff.

Been there, done that! I feel your pain
Well, I fell at the first hurdle today and went halves with DH on pizza. After so many days of sleeping late I couldn't get to sleep last night so only managed about 5 hours before the alarm went off so had a stinking headache by this afternoon and then ended up staying a bit late and just couldn't face cooking. Yesterday was the first day since 22nd December when we didn't have any one staying. Also OH went back to work. I have decided to use this week to gradually get us back into routines and start some new ones.
Yesterday was a NSD and we used up bits and pieces that had been lurking in the freezer for months. I renewed our library loans that were due. Next batch of loans due back on Monday, hopefully we will of finished some by then so they can be returned.

Morning all, Back to normality in the Luckylady household with everyone at work/school.
I'm not starting back at the gym until Monday as I want to get things straight at home first.
So todays list
* ys bread for kids breakfast
* I'm having my first fast day of 2017 so nothing to eat until tonight when it will be beef/veggies & potatoes from stores After 2 weeks of Xmas food going for a fast day wasn't the best plan as I was ravenous by 12.30 so I've had some crackers and will then have my meal later as planned. Eat sensibly tomorrow and then fast properly on Friday
* Drink plenty of tea as we have lots of teabags in the cupboard for some reason!
* No heating on during the day until the kids come home from school, I can put an extra jumper on if needs be (but as I'm trying to get house tidied I don't think I'll be cold for long)
* Washed 2 loads on the quick 30 degree wash
* Radiator shuffle later when I put the heating on
* Ironing - only what needs doing the rest can be hung straight awayDone and nearly everything needed ironing as it had been hung around for so long
* Check banking/spreadsheets and do the money shuffle round our accounts to meet interest requirements
* Check luckyphone/ Numberplate
/ fpl
* Search on inbox£ as I'm getting closer to the £20 payout
* Check tcb/quidco see if anything has paid out
* Dejunk all 3 email accounts - doing this daily really helps me
* Flylady
* Clean everywhere using stardops and micro fibre cloths
**Our living room now looks all fresh, tidy and clean againNo little bits of tinsel or needles from the tree
** Bathroom done
** All upstairs tidied & hovered inc stairs
That's it for now, hopefully I'll be back to add more in a bit
* Cut open bottle of shampoo as there is at least 4/5 days left at the bottom
* Recharged the hanging moisture things in the microwave from the wardrobes
Have a good day all.

Morning Campers,
Not much planned here. Actually aiming to have a sofa day, with a film, plenty of hot drinks & stay warm to see if I can shake off the rest of the flu. A few money saving bits done this morning:
*Laundry done overnight on cheap tariff. Now on heated airer.
*Broad bean pesto taken out of freezer for tonight. Will serve with some leftover cheese & pasta.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch
*Increased my Toluna points by over 3000, simply by doing the quick clicks. There were heaps of them. I didn't do them all, just stopped when I'd had enough. Want to up my survey income this year, as it dropped in 2016 (due to nothing other than me not feeling in the mood for doing them)
*Re-listed 12 ebay items. They have all been listed a few times but it's odd how you just think you'll put them on for the last time ever, then you sell a couple. Free listings anyway. Have started a new pile of items ready for photographing & listing at some point too.
*Changed my 'My Waitrose' personal picks. I'd completely forgotten which items I'd picked originally - it's their loyalty card offer where you choose 10 products from a very long list & then you get 20% off those items each time you buy them. If the item is already on offer, you get the offer plus the additional 20% off. I've done really well on this for one of the Taylor's coffee which we really like but it's quite expensive at full price. Waitrose sometimes sell it on offer for £1-74 (instead of around £3.00?) & if I happen to spot it, I pick a few up as with the 20% off as well, it means paying around £1.39 & that's good for ground coffee but especially good for this brand. So, I've revisited my chosen products & made better choices......including 3 different boxes of cat food for the Furred Horror.
*No downstairs heating on until much later. Snuggly rug & a hwb will be perfectly warm enough for a good few hours yet.
*Am just starting to cast my mind over next week's meal plan possibilities. Our first grocery shop of the month was £30 higher than it should have been. We did have to buy quite a few annoying things like throat sweets, tissues, cold caplets, etc, but with the amount of food in the freezer, we can prioritise that for next week, as long as meals are properly planned. Seem to have a lot of potatoes too, so will put jackets on the menu & plenty of wedges.
*Continue work on current knitting order.
OK, am going to put the kettle on now & find some catch-up TV to watch. I'd really like to be feeling well enough for a city centre shopping trip at the weekend so I need to put the effort in on the resting/cossetting front.
Have a good day all,

Hi
I have made my lunch 2 days in a row and used the cash I would have spent on lunches to pay some small payments on Credit Cards
I have been using my gym paid £5 membership for Jan so need to take advantage of that
My NY resolution is to stop eating out - except on special occasions. All money saved every time someone mentions eating out is going on the credit cards.
I got a lot of this years xmas pressies in the sale they have been packed up and put in the loft
I run my own catering business as well as work and I already have 2 January orders which is great
I found out yesterday that I had managed to arrange the redistribution of 220 turkeys and 60 cases of cake to charities from a business that had over ordered - this is part of my job but I'm chuffed that all the food went to people in need.
I am not working towards my annual objectives to ensure I get as much of my Performance related bonus in March

Update to my Eon problem
I registered online and input my meter readings, it accepted the gas one but wouldn't accept the electricity one as it wasn't what they were expecting (and said I was £1,497 in debit  ) so I gave them a call.
They have input my electricity reading but the account wasn't updating so he said to check online tomorrow but that my reading was 'significantly' less than what they had been estimating. I'm not sure why my telephone readings hadn't been used but it sounds like it should all be sorted tomorrow.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
