Morning all. One more day of holiday (albeit I need to ring my boss today as he needs answers on some questions that can't wait until tomorrow - boo!) bigger boo to those going back to work today. Hope it's painless. DD1 birthday today so well be popping out with her at some point, might go to cinema as it's £4 each at the moment which could be worse. Other than that:

Loads of DD have gone out today that have backed up since last week. Checked them all and updated account
Washing shuffle, on to radiators or airer
    Meals from stores
    Some form of exercise
    Bags ready for school/work tomorrow
Make sure I've got something for lunch tomorrow
    Stick to healthy eating
    Washing away
    Quick tidy round
Set myself a challenge to pad an amount a (reducing ) amount per day so started on 3.65 and reducing it 1p a day so today was £3.63. Areday have just over £10 in savings account. On 31st December my payment will be just a penny and I'll have about £655 saved :D I'll keep you posted.

Foxgloves keep meaning to ask - how did mr f get on with is £2 sealed jar, did he break it yet?

Have a good day folks. PF.
  • Morning :) boo for everyone having to start back at work today. I have a reprieve until tomorrow...

oh on the other hand has to go today. will put him a lunch together in a minute - use up some of the ham with today's date ;)

Madam managed her first accident free night :j wow hard to believe how quickly she's growing up! No bedding to wash today :money:

Still need to freeze sliced ham so as not to waste any ;)

get ys diced beef out of freezer for dinner tonight

going to take madam for a super park session this morning. I am starting to think she is nearing being ready for school as lots of our simple day to day activities aren't stimulating her as much as they usually do and she's been being a bit naughty these last few days  hopefully back to cm's tomorrow and playing with the other children will nip this in the bud! Will dig out some activity this afternoon that will keep her occupied

other than milk no other spends. Will walk to the shop. Also will take library books back

lunches, bags & lunches ready for tomorrow

Thinking of a run but won't be until tonight when motivation will probably be low!

Ok that's all I can think of right now. Have a good day guys x

Morning everyone :) Cold start here today! DS health visitor is coming at 10.30 and I need to pop out and get some thank you cards! I've got a feeling the health visitor might make us see the doctor as the little man still has a bad cough so that might be a trip out for us later otherwise we will be staying in as its chilly! Other things for today:

    - Check bank accounts - Still low!
    - Surveys
    - Load of washing and tumble dry - In progress
    - Quick tidy up

Got to dash! Have a good day those back at work and a good time off those still on holiday! x

    Hi everyone

Nice to see some old and new faces. :)

Thanks for the well wishes for OH - he's feeling a bit better. Been such a healthy holiday with lots of walking and him not up for drinking. :)

Good luck for going back to work everyone!! You can do it!

We're off to the Vatican today - pre paid tickets and doing the online mp3 player thingy rather than buying a guided tour there. ;)

Going to have a big breakfast before we leave - omelette to use up bits of ham, veg, cheese...
Will get a 'small bottle' of house wine with dinner - I love the 375ml bottles for me and OH to share :T

Free water fountains all over this city too - I brought my refillable bottle in anticipation ;) (I look like such a geek :rotfl:)

    Big love guys!

Morning everyone! Thanks for the welcomes back :)
WFH today as DD still off and I don't want to miss out on time with her...she is off for her voluntary work this am though, and the cinema this afternoon (vouchers, so no spend!) so I should get plenty done, in between ferrying her about.
Have heating on until she leaves then will resort to blanket and HWB. When I saw it was -4 today I thought I'd picked a bad day to be WFH not in my toasty office, but I'm cherishing the flexibility while I have it!
    Today:
[STRIKE]Need to settle up cash with DD's dad - we do this about every six months or so. I'm likely to be owing him this time around I think, but will feel much better for sorting it out. [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Set up DD for DD's allowance to avoid cash which always seems to come around very quickly! [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Washing and it can go on line despite the chill![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Freeze LO cheese - once investigated what can and cant be frozen. [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Do one job from the hang it / stick it / drill it box of odd jobs[/STRIKE] Hook up! (the only hook up that's likely around here!)
Locate fitbit charger - deep in desk I fear! Not in the desk. Running out of places to look :(
[STRIKE]Hoover through lounge (after stripping yet more wallpaper off - might as well do only once)[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Treat xmas tree - now outside - to some TLC in hope it survives another year[/STRIKE]
Work expenses. Bane of my life to fill in and yet so necessary! I think I have about £500 owing to me! Its really, really stupid to put this job off.
[STRIKE]Put back one portion before dishing up lunch [/STRIKE]- I always try to create my leftovers first!
[STRIKE]Shower at the swimming pool - take conditioner and shampoo to do it properly!
Apply for train ticket refund - one can hope! [/STRIKE]

Good luck everyone! Stay warm x

    Morning all,

Trying to be productive today so a quick :coffee: then must get cracking.

    * Finish off the ys bread for breakfast :)
    * Write a shopping list with only essentials on - as need bread for sandwiches for the rest of the week and milk. :)Done, need bread, milk, sandwich meat and fruit
    * Book all of us into the dentist, me in Jan, kids in Feb and dh in April :)
    * Clean round the kitchen using stardrops
    * Get a load on the quick 30 degree wash
    * Radiator shuffle - as dh is at work again the heating will be on a hell of a lot less!
    * Supervise the kids making cheese scones - its my mums birthday and we will take them over to her as a pressie :)They look and smell lovely! My mum loved them too :)
    * Call in at co0p whist nr :)They had ys bread, ys ham and the milk was 2 for £2 so got that there too, means I didn't buy much more then I needed as its never easy shopping with the kids in tow. I paid full price for the apples but saved by getting the rest ys, so cheaper then going to Mr T's. Did also get some ys mincepies 4 for 13p and a large chocolate trifle down to 59p - I must stop buying these things though!!
    * Baths using one tub of water for us all. Continue using up lotions and potions and leave her to dry naturally
    * Check banking/spreadsheets :)
    * Check fpl/lucky:) /numberplate :)
    * Search on inbox£'s :)
    * Do some Swagbucks
    * Make sure everything is ready for the kids tomorrow
** Decorated the trial cake my friend gave us, using stuff from baking box, kids enjoyed :)
** Ask my dad to give the lads hair a trim :)
*** Update the lads pocket money spreadsheet after they bought some match attack things :)

    That's it for now.

    Have a good day all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
  • Hello.

Thought I'd join this thread to keep me motivated. It feels weird that Christmas and the new year is now over.. But I absolutely love this time of year.

Today, the boy is at his dads until teatime then he has his extra curricular.

I'm going to spend today tying up some loose ends and potter about.

    Here's my to do list.

    - Go to clinic and get my dressing done.
    - Pick up old/new sick notes (work lost old ones so had to get them re printed).
    - Pick up prescription of new medication.
    - Photocopy then drop off sick notes.
    - Clear floordrobe and sort into wash piles.
    - Organise stuff emptied from car yesterday (work stuff) into bag.
    - We have lots of potatoes left over from Christmas.. Par boil some into roasties and make some mash and freeze.
    - Do a fridge inventory and freezer.
    - Take boy to his activity- maybe walk there? Dependent on weather and how I'm feeling.
    - Find fitbit and recharge.
    - Drink at least 6 glasses of water.
    - Phone care team and see where I'm up to for appointments. I haven't heard anything.
    - Plot this month's events onto diary/calender.
    - Update banking. All direct debits have gone out today. Need to work within a tight budget.
    - Work out what I owe to my mum.
    Chandelier.
    Current Debt Repaid:
    £104/£619.

    Check out my Diary
    :D

    Morning all :)
OH is dressing yet more pheasants in the kitchen, so thought I would pop on here till he has finished.
FatVonD, I really hope you can get your fuel payments sorted out, they must owe you loads - what on earth are they doing charging you so much
DNMS, my little GD is getting a bit harder to entertain (and a bit naughty :() too. She was 3 in November, maybe it is an age 3 thing - it was a long time ago my children were that little :rotfl:

    List for me today:
    Finish packing ebay parcels (Done)
Large one to local shop for Collect + dispatch (Done)
6 others need to go to post office later, when it hopefully thaws out a bit (freezing again here :() Done
Message non paying buyer  Next stage will be to raise a case with ebay as otherwise I will be charged fees on the 'sale' :( (Done) Now paid :)
Make leek and potato soup for lunch, to use up some of the leeks I dug up yesterday :)Done, used up the dregs of the cream and a bit of the blue cheese that we still seem to have an endless supply of - certainly made it a bit less bland than leek and potato tends to be!
List some more things on ebay (1 done so far) Just the 1 :o
Take some items to sales unit when I go to the post office - I am having a clearance sale and hopefully there will be spaces on my shelves! Done, not many spaces I am afraid :(
    Bit of paperwork for business
Took 3 bags of outgrown toys, books and baby jigsaws to the CS
Continue to sort out spare room in preparation for DS moving in - it is used as a playroom / workroom for storing my sales stock etc, so this is quite a big job  Not done, OH wanted to go and look at cars on behalf of one of his friends (yawn!)
Use up a single steak left over from pack of 4 I took out of the freezer the day before yesterday. I cooked 3 for ON, my brother and I for New Years Day treat. Bro has gone home now, so OH and I will share this one tonight! Done, had jacket potatoes, salad and HM coleslaw with it :)
OH tells me that 'I' have run out of mince pies :rotfl: so might make some more, as I have loads of mincemeat left Didn't get to this
Must ring to cancel Ocado smart pass membership that I no longer use, keep forgetting to do this! I do quite like their products, but don't often want to spend £40 on groceries which is the minimum - and it must be said, some of their drivers seem to be used to more salubrious surroundings than our unremarkable terraced house on a through road :oNot done yet
Nearly dry washing now in airing cupboard
Did a couple of surveys for onepoll
HM tomato sauce out of freezer to defrost for tomorrow's dinner

Didn't get as much done as I had hoped. I have another 2 ebay parcels to pack now, for posting tomorrow
