Thanks all, DH forgot to do the meter readings so it will have to wait until tomorrow now as one is outside. The DD wasn't that much when we moved in but then they put it up. Definitely needs sorting.
My shop today came to £53 so £3 over what I wanted to spend but I did feel like I came back with lots (apart from mascarpone which I can buy near work.) I popped in to the local one also to see if there was anything worth going back for at final reduction time, there wasn't really but someone reached right to the back (it's all on the bottom shelf) and pulled out two packs of uncooked tiger prawns. I don't know who is hiding all the best stuff at the back but I'm going in on hands and knees next time :rotfl:
I've listed half a dozen things on eBay, all books that I could use generic photos for as the light wasn't good enough for anything else. I've also submitted a request for compensation to Hermes for something that arrived broken before Christmas.
Still feeling positive about 2017 :TMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017
PurpleFairy Thank you for starting the first thread of 2017.
Crazy_Lady2009 Welcome back, I think our paths briefly crossed in my early days.
We had a lovely day yesterday a group of our friends and their children came over to celebrate the new year, without the children (and some of the adults) not being able to cope with late night :rotfl: We have all known each other for about 20 years, well not the children, they have just joined the group as they have been born
We exchanged presents, played games, enjoyed good food but most importantly each others company.
Today other friends were supposed to be visiting but unfortunately one of their family is ill so they were unable to visit, which is such a shame as we haven't seen them since early September
Instead we have had quiet day playing games, eating a new meal, which ds enjoyed even though it was quite spicy, which is brilliant news perhaps we can introduce some new dishes. All the ingredients were from the stock cupboard, as well as being vegan and gluten free so a useful recipe to have up our sleeve.
Our weekend guest went home this afternoon. OH goes back to work very early Tuesday morningSpent some of today giving the living room a good clean, the tree is still up and will stay up until 12th night, looks a lot better though.

Evening all,
Today's small things
* All meals from stores
* Made New Years leftovers soup - froze half
* Used up some cocktail sausage rolls out of the freezer that were bought but not used for Xmas
* Tidied living room cupboards and reorganised
* Had a nsd
* Showered and let hair dry naturally (continuing the use up of lotions and potions)
I'm sure there is more I've achieved but that's all I can think of.
Sounds like everyone is being very productive.
Hubby back to work tomorrow, I'm really not looking forward to hearing his alarm go off at 6.30amJust checked though and its 46 sleeps til his next week off
My combined gas/elec is £69/month and its a 15yr old house 4 bedrooms
Bye for now.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

hi everyone:
today I have :
done some matched betting and made a bit of profit, could have been more if I hadn't messed up one
checked the bank accounts need to borrow from DD which breaks my heart but she'll get paid back as soon as possible.
bagged up and frozen some things from the fridge
made dinner from what had previously been in the freezer. This month we're on a challenge to take something out of the freezer everyday. we could probably do it for the whole year with what we have in there.
washing pegged out to dry a bit, makes it easier then to get it dried indoors.
need to check surveys and not spend any money this week once i'm back at work tomorrow
oh an our combined gas and electric is £63 per month for 3 bed semi and at the moment our heating is on continuous as we can't keep the nursery warm otherwise and there's only so many layers DS can wear and still breathe.0 -
Evening all :hello:
Not done too badly today (although I can't make the phone quote my original list)
* banks checked this morning
* sw@gbucks goal met
* 2 mile run
* kettlebells video
* made roast veg soup and home made bread for lunch
* made mushroom risotto for tea (from meal plan)
* food shopping = £24.50 which will hopefully last us the week
* washed sheets and dried on radiator/bannister
* finished painting awkward bits of the kitchen ready for second coat tomorrow
* fixed energy deal for the next year - 100% green electricity and a £60 discount for online only. £96 a month predicted, currently pay £67 a month DD but I'll probably have to put that up this month, not as much as £96 but it does pay 3% on credit balances which is more than the bank so might just bung a bit more in :rotfl:

For 2017...Decided I've got a monumental ton of stuff that hasn't seen the light of day for ages and is just sat in drawers and cupboards so I'm going to start Ebaying it doing a few items a week. I did think about Facebook "Stuff for sale or free in XXX" pages but there seems to be a hell of a lot of timewasters who say they want stuff and never turn up.
Already looking like I'm off to a good start. I put a 9 year old iPod Classic on Ebay which hasn't been used in three or four years yet still seems to work fine and got bids within an hour.
Even if it just generates £20 a week that will be £1000 in a year for stuff that would end up in the bin.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
