    Morning all. One more day of holiday (albeit I need to ring my boss today as he needs answers on some questions that can't wait until tomorrow - boo!) bigger boo to those going back to work today. Hope it's painless. DD1 birthday today so well be popping out with her at some point, might go to cinema as it's £4 each at the moment which could be worse. Other than that:

    Loads of DD have gone out today that have backed up since last week. Checked them all and updated account
    Washing shuffle, on to radiators or airer
    Meals from stores
    Some form of exercise
    Bags ready for school/work tomorrow
    Make sure I've got something for lunch tomorrow
    Stick to healthy eating
    Washing away
    Quick tidy round
    Set myself a challenge to pad an amount a (reducing ) amount per day so started on 3.65 and reducing it 1p a day so today was £3.63. Areday have just over £10 in savings account. On 31st December my payment will be just a penny and I'll have about £655 saved :D I'll keep you posted.

    Foxgloves keep meaning to ask - how did mr f get on with is £2 sealed jar, did he break it yet?

    Have a good day folks. PF.

    Good day all round. Took snacks and drink into cinema. Film was very good. We're going to pop for lunch but ate at home when we realised we had the things in that the girls would ask for if we went out (JP and ham sandwich). I used some blue cheese and cream for a pasta sauce (perhaps not quite on healthy eating but good none the less)

    Cleaned out handbag :eek: how does some of that stuff get in there :o did find a my Hermes return coupon that I thought I'd lost, that I may need as the refund is taking forever to appear on my account, but then the first charge took 6 weeks. Will leave it another week before I chase.

    Some sale items arrived, one going back as even in the sale was very poor value, was for present box anyway.

    Just 3 items to iron for tomorrow and school bags ready.

    I did have to help DD with her homework. Cue paper mache balloon... me thinking why did we leave it until last day :eek: flour sludge mess in kitchen and on all items of clothing was wearing. Pegged on line, not drying. Cue hairdryer on it :rotfl: Fingers crossed it'll be dry by tomorrow.

    Will do some knitting tonight and possibly meditation. CLF thanks for the tip, ill take a look.
  • Morning :) boo for everyone having to start back at work today. I have a reprieve until tomorrow...

    oh on the other hand has to go today. will put him a lunch together in a minute - use up some of the ham with today's date ;)

    Madam managed her first accident free night :j wow hard to believe how quickly she's growing up! No bedding to wash today :money:

    Still need to freeze sliced ham so as not to waste any ;)haven't bothered as will use the last tomorrow for lunches

    get ys diced beef out of freezer for dinner tonight bubbling away at the moment, used up dregs of lo wine form the fridge. will have with runner beans frozen in the summer. So far I am sticking to the £1pdpp rule :money:

    going to take madam for a super park session this morning. I am starting to think she is nearing being ready for school as lots of our simple day to day activities aren't stimulating her as much as they usually do and she's been being a bit naughty these last few days :eek: hopefully back to cm's tomorrow and playing with the other children will nip this in the bud! Will dig out some activity this afternoon that will keep her occupied argh the naughtiness continues :eek: she got sent to her room with a flea in her ear and now has crashed out. Might be her for the night. Hoping tomorrow return to cm and routine will end this as it's not like her :(

    other than milk no other spends. Will walk to the shop. Also will take library books back opps didn't take the books back! Will renew now. In addition to milk I got 2x bags of bananas (10 in total) & 2x kiwis (12) for 19p each. That is fruit sorted for this week for less than I would have got in Aldi :)

    lunches, bags & lunches ready for tomorrow

    Thinking of a run but won't be until tonight when motivation will probably be low! ha as I suspected! A bath and my book sounds more appealing....

    Ok that's all I can think of right now. Have a good day guys x

    not bad for today's efforts :T just lunches and clothes to go and I'm ready for bed now!

    * Finish off the ys bread for breakfast :)
    * Write a shopping list with only essentials on - as need bread for sandwiches for the rest of the week and milk. :)Done, need bread, milk, sandwich meat and fruit
    * Book all of us into the dentist, me in Jan, kids in Feb and dh in April :)
    * Clean round the kitchen using stardrops :)
    * Get a load on the quick 30 degree wash
    * Radiator shuffle - as dh is at work again the heating will be on a hell of a lot less!
    * Supervise the kids making cheese scones - its my mums birthday and we will take them over to her as a pressie :)They look and smell lovely! My mum loved them too :)
    * Call in at co0p whist nr :)They had ys bread, ys ham and the milk was 2 for £2 so got that there too, means I didn't buy much more then I needed as its never easy shopping with the kids in tow. I paid full price for the apples but saved by getting the rest ys, so cheaper then going to Mr T's. Did also get some ys mincepies 4 for 13p and a large chocolate trifle down to 59p - I must stop buying these things though!! :cool:
    * Baths using one tub of water for us all. Continue using up lotions and potions and leave her to dry naturally :)
    * Check banking/spreadsheets :)
    * Check fpl/lucky:) /numberplate :)
    * Search on inbox£'s :)
    * Do some Swagbucks :)
    * Make sure everything is ready for the kids tomorrow :)
    ** Decorated the trial cake my friend gave us, using stuff from baking box, kids enjoyed :)
    ** Ask my dad to give the lads hair a trim :)
    *** Update the lads pocket money spreadsheet after they bought some match attack things :)

    Also
    * used up smoked salmon trimmings/chicken/beef bits/punnet of mushrooms/ys parsley sauce I picked up for 15p last week with rice, boiled egg, peas & sweetcorn into a kind of kedgeree type dish. It was a really tasty, never to be repeated concoction! All that's left from xmas now is some blue cheese & smoked cheese :)
    * Renewed library books online so as not to be fined
    * Updated spreadsheets with some pension info hubby sent home to make sure we are up to date
    * Minimum heating on and we will use blankets & light some of the xmas candle once the kids are in bed too.

    Right I think that's me done for the day.

    Have a lovely evening all.

    * [STRIKE]ynab/banks[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]home made parsnip soup and bread for lunch[/STRIKE] - yep, and enough to put a couple of portions in the freezer for lunch next week
    * [STRIKE]finish painting kitchen walls[/STRIKE] - ran out of paint and had to nip to Wilko
    * plaster hole and window frame in spare room - might abandon this in favour of kettlebells :o
    * [STRIKE]tea from meal planner (maybe pizza tonight, we're in need of a treat[/STRIKE] :o ) - pizza bases part cooked, toppings all chopped into little bowls and waiting for Mr Cheery to finish what he's doing :j

    Foxgloves, if you don't mind me asking, roughly how much do you charge for socks? Do you just do orders for family and friends? I LOVE knitting socks, and would love to do it as a side income, but my last pair took me about 6 months to make so I might have to charge several hundred per sock :D :rotl:
  • Inspired by all of your exercise updates to go for a swim when I dropped DD off at her dads today. I hate the drop off nights and usually come home, sob a bit, eat rubbish and generally be out of sorts and like a stroppy toddler. Tonight I 'thought ahead' (motto for the year) packed my swimming stuff while she was getting her stuff together, and drove straight to pool when I had left her, swam 32 lengths (half a mile :) ) before coming home, much better mood! Technically lost a NSD but have decided that exercise costs aren't going to be counted within my NSDs - 1) I dont need any more excuses not to exercise, I'm only just starting out on a heealthier lifestyle again and 2) I almost joined as a annual cost when I wouldnt have been counting the spends each time, but worked out it was a bit of a luxury for me at the moment, and finally 3) I need the exercise most on days when I havent otherwise been out, which are likely NSDs. This exception will only cover the entry cost - any transport, parking, 'extras' are going to count as spends. Feeling strong enough now to tackle additional jobs on the list! :beer:

    Bob, I can imagine how you are feeling about your son's dance class. We came to the same decision in September about the kids and karate. My eldest lost a bit of love of it when my father/niece got their brown belts but he didn't so he was training with a different group and he just didn't enjoy it anymore. My dad was only doing it to have time/something in common with the kids so they all finished. I must admit that I don't miss the nights of taking the youngest, waiting an hour whilst he had his session, brining him home and then taking the eldest out at 7.30 and then going to pick him up at 9pm, particularly on these dark cold nights :)

    Tonights tea is going to be either a love it or hate it concoction!! but dh is at work so he'll just have to have it when he gets home!! In the fridge we had some leftover smoked salmon, a bit of beef & a bit of chicken & a punnet of mushrooms. I'm cooking some boiled eggs and am going to do some rice, I've also got a sachet of parsley sauce we'd picked up the other night ys from m&s. Will throw in some peas and sweetcorn and make it into a kedgeree type meal??? Fingers crossed it goes down ok with the family :) That will then only leave me with blue cheese & smoked cheese from xmas :)

    Yes it sounds very similar. Props to you for ferrying two of them back and forth! I think I'm partly worried irrationally that he is giving up on something that could have been a fab life opportunity (a lot of the older kids feed straight into west end shows) but he's 8. Who's to say he would want to do that anyway...

    Hi

    Bob and LL we have experienced something similar here too. DS2 played golf for a few years and his coach said he was very talented but the lessons were 9am on a Saturday morning a long drive away and took up half the day. When all DSs friends started to play football he wanted to do the same and eventually he had to choose so the golf went. I thought that one day he might take it up again but I think that's unlikely now.

    Long day, tired now. DH stayed at home as he still has cold so he made lasagne for tea. Trying to use up everything in the fridge. I bought some oak smoked cheddar that no-one liked, including me. I am trying to use this cheese up but it seems to be like the magic porridge pot and I swear it's growing back again when you cut some off.

    House is reasonably clean and tidy, washing up to date, paid stuff tomorrow morning then working from home tomorrow afternoon.

    Yorkshire Golf is still a good hobby to have under your belt. A lot of guys socialise that way don't they, so maybe when he's older.

    Ooh, foxgloves - can I join in on the sock Qs please? :D Where do you get your yarn? I used to have an ace local shop but alas I moved away... Hate buying yarn online - always seems so expensive too...

    I bought some tourist tat today - a new notebook! *toddles off to look at bullet journals again on youtube...* :D

    Night all!
