    Evening all :)
    Katy Ann, I am so sorry to hear that your baby is so poorly :( Hope he is better very soon.
    Ziggy, hope your DH gets his operation date soon. It is a big operation, but I know several people who have had this done, and it has made such a positive difference to their lives :)

    Not much done here today as I had GD from 8-5. Actually, OH had her for a couple of hours this morning. He helps run a community thing close by, and she likes going with him to unlock etc. This gave me chance to go to the post office and pop into the supermarket in peace!

    Other than that:
    Well, not much on the moneysaving front :o Had the heating on as GD was with us, and had my first spend day of 2017 as I needed fruit, onions, bread etc.
    One ebay sale
    Managed to list one item - must get on with this!
    All HM meals (though I could have murdered for a takeaway tonight, so as not to have to cook - thing is, we are about a mile from town, and by the time you have gone down there, queued up etc, it is quicker to do something myself, let alone cheaper!) We had special offer spinach and ricotta tortellini with HM tomato sauce from the freezer, topped off with grated cheese and browned under the grill, with salad, so it was relatively healthy too!

    Not sure much more will get done tomorrow, as I have to go to the dentist for a filling :eek: in the morning and wait in for a telephone appointment with the doctor over a teat result in the afternoon :(
  • Hugs to all those who are poorly or have loved ones who are. Sending strength your way.
    Not a NSD today but planned spend made cheaper as I walked into town for it so saved on petrol/parking compared to my habit developed last year, plus got some exercise at same time.
    Half price tea bags at co0p tonight. Meant to go to Aldi but missed it by a few min, so glad I managed to get a bargain.
    No heating on today, just hot water bottles...two in bed with me now!
    Completed a bit more decluttering. Am really finding it useful to be able to find things I need more easily.
    Did one job from the hang it/drill it/stick it box of items. I'm running out of easy jobs and will soon need more tools/gadgets than I own - will be time to invite a friend round who has them!
    Have held off doing washing as pretty sure there is space for tomorrow's clothes in there too. No random towels etc hanging around at the moment, am remarkably up together about it all.
    Picked up rail ticket to claim for its non use - saw article when I was submitting claim.for reimbursement for a cancelled train.yesterday!
    Dinner was leftovers...again! Used some salad up. Still 2 portions in there though (different sort) but I feel like I'm racing it to the turn!
    Arranged a free lift into work tomorrow from friend who gets their fuel paid for. That will be two days without using my car :) worth a bit of flexibility with my start time to accommodate it!
    Night night everyone x

    Katy Ann hope your little man is on the mend and back home soon.

    Ziggy I too know people who had the same operation that are now fit as a fiddle but it doesn't make it any less daunting.

    I've added a couple more DVDs to my Zapper package as well as a few of DHs and we're now at over £20 :T Just need to print the label and find a suitably sized box.

    Work was okay but getting really peed off with one very rude department head and have bitten back twice today. I know *why* she is the way she is, she is terrified of making mistakes though she makes many and gets very defensive if you ask her for something which is unfortunately unavoidable as we can't do our job if, for instance, she's forgotten to put half the pics or the copy on the server. I've decided from now on I will email her rather than give her any more opportunity to be rude to me which seems to be her only line of defence.

    I'm itching to log onto Eon tomorrow to see what my account looks like with the proper readings. Fingers crossed :D

    The Wee Geek's has a quandary:

    Since June I have been working as a Senior Manager looking after 600 or so employees. I've been told I'm doing ok at it.

    Now I need to make a decision:

    (A) Stay as I am and risk being possibly paid off soon as the demand for the business I work in drops away. I don't have another job to go to; and I'm allergic to Jobcentres.

    (B) Apply for a promotion. A few folk at work reckon I would be suitable for this job, I'm probably capable, but I'm apprehensive, frightened of failure. :o This would be a permanent role.

    What do you reckon folks? (A) or (B)

    Hope everything is OK with OH Ziggy and KatyAnn how awful, thinking of you and DH.

    Just checking in quickly.

    Washing over airer.
    Have picked through a bag of salad leaves to find edible bits for my sandwich, the rest can't be salvaged unfortunately.
    No shower this morning, I know that I dont really need a shower every morning, even though its a nice way to start the day.

    Right, both paid stuff today, better shift myself!

    Ally, I would say go for the promotion as you have nothing to lose by doing so :):)

    Definitely (B) - what have you got to lose? If you apply and don't get accepted, then you presumably stay in your current job anyway (and in my experience, preparing your CV for a promotion gives you a little self esteem boost that might even encourage you to look elsewhere anyway). And there's always a chance you WILL get it and then - hooray! :j :j Go for it! :)

    Morning folks :hello:

    today I will...

    * think about sw@gbucks - didn't meet daily goal yesterday and getting slightly disillusioned with how much time I'm spending - won't be wanting to spend this much time once I go back to work!
    * ynab/banks
    * fit new brakes on bike
    * collect parcel
    * meet friend in W@itrose for a free cuppa
    * do some plastering
    * make bread and soup for lunch
    * make something off the meal planner for tea
    * ring family re visiting at the weekend
    * house insurance comparisons (hate doing this but it's worth it!)

    Hope you all have a cheery day :j

    Morning all,

    Katy Ann & Ziggy, thinking of you both this morning.
    FatvonD, I hope that E.on looks good for you today!

    Today's list from me
    * Kids have gone to school breakfast club for free :)
    * Washing a load on the quick 30 degree wash now :)
    * Check banking/update spreadsheets :)
    * Post a penpal letter for ds using a free stamp from rm surveys arrgghhh I put the stamp on it, put it in my bag and then forget to post it, ah well there is always tomorrow.
    * Sort out our desk as its in the hallway it becomes a dumping ground if I don't stay on top of it A tomorrow job as I ran out of time
    * Fix ds's swimming bag ready for back to lessons tonight :)
    * Make sandwiches for tomorrows lunches now, as we have exactly the right number of slices of bread needed and then hubby can't pinch a slice before his tea and leave me needing the shops! If I do this it means I can get a nsd :)
    * Check fpl / luckyphone / numberplate :)
    * Radiator shuffle :)
    [STRIKE]May make some cheese scones again[/STRIKE] Making rice pudding in the slowcooker instead to use up some coconut milk :)
    * Write up freezer inventory and useup box list :)
    * Iron only what is needed :)

    That's my starter so better get on now as I've drunk my cuppa!
