Morning gang!
Katy_ann - so sorry to hear about your little one. Sounds like he is getting the care he needs. I hope you managed to get at least a few hours of sleep.
Ziggy - send my best wishes to your DH xx
Ally - Foxgloves has told you - get applying for that job!
Foxgloves - thanks for telling me about the wool warehouse - I'll look that up. The other issue I've had with buying online is that a lot of websites look like UK sites (to me) but then they turn out to be shipping from the US...
Gosh I've got a long list to get through today... Don't want to be cleaning, tidying, organising all weekend though so hopefully I can get through it!
Moneywise...- Leftover (takeaway :shhh:) for lunch
- Sort YNAB :dance:
- Knit/crochet from stash keeping me out of spending trouble
- Clean the whole house - min products!
- Chuck/recycle/sort for CS anything I don't want to be cluttering up the place!!
- Get through laundry mountain - you know what it's like getting back from holiday :eek: - using soapnuts because I'm all ethical like that
Give em a try - https://goo.gl/9gFvqM

-Continue to eat from the pantry
-Use up leftovers
-Stick to my written budget0 -
Eon balance has gone from £1,497 in debit to £92 in credit! :T
Hopefully when nice man comes back on Monday we can work out what my direct debit should be based on correct readings for this last yearMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
MalcMy meter reading still hasn't updated on Eon and I had an email saying they want to put my direct debit up by another £100 per month. I have spoken to someone really helpful and he is now dealing with it all on email with me (I've sent him the photo of the meter) and it looks like our moving in reading was wrong. Sadly he's only in until 4pm todayand then off until Monday, I'm hoping he can sort it before he goes but he has put my account on hold until he has.
The Eon saga continues, after emailing the pic of the meter to nice man he has managed to update the meter reading though the bill still says I owe them £1,497 :eek: even though their estimated reading and the actual reading are, I think, 1000kWh different and he can't tell me how much this equates to in money terms. It's a whole digit out on the second from the left dial and a bit more on the others. The jury is still out on the first dial as the angle of the first photo made it look like it wasn't exactly on a number (which I think it pretty much is) which was why he thought the moving in reading might be wrong so I've taken another more front on one to email for Monday.
Sorry this hasn't been sorted yet FatVonD but glad my colleague is looking after you.
It's great you've been able to send in pics of the meter. These really help particularly with dial meters like yours. Thanks for doing this.
Once the advisor dealing with this has established the right current reading, they can look to make sure the opening reading falls in line. Were you able to take an opening reading at the time? Don't worry if you didn't. Later readings can be used to estimate a new opening reading based on your ongoing usage.
When the opening and latest readings are sorted, the account will be rebilled to these. This will give you a much more accurate picture of what you've used. After this, the Monthly Direct Debit will be re-assessed.
If you let me know the tariff you're on and the region you're in, I'll be happy to give you a rough idea of what 1000 kWh of electricity will cost.
Look forward to hearing from you FatVonD. After today, I'm out of the office until Tuesday so please don't worry if I'm late replying.

Thanks, Malc, we must have been cross posting as the matter has been resolved and my account is now showing a £93 credit :T I'm on the SWLondon/Surrey borders (Borough of Elmbridge.) I've just checked my new direct debit amount and it has been reduced to £108pm which is more in line with our usage at the last house (still a lot more than other users here but we use the tumble drier all year round)
Thanks for all your help and advice and apologies to all the other DFWs for derailing the thread!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Ooh, nice to see your bill has been sorted out fvd :j :j :j Excellent work, and how nice to have that big debit just taken away! :j :j
Morning all and welcome WantToBeSE :hello:
Today I have/will
* check banks/YNAB
* fill holes in kitchen cladding and undercoat
* make extra biscuits for friend after we ate the ones I made yesterday
* choose something from meal planner for tea
* buy new hoover
* do a bit of house insurance comparison
Planned eggs on toast for lunch but just realised I neglected to press 'start' on the bread machine two hours ago :eek: However, I've just remembered that we've still got one of yesterday's shepherds pies in the oven so we can have that, and save the bread for tomorrow's lunch :j0 -

Sorry about that FatVonD. As you say, think I was typing whilst you were posting.
Glad it's sorted. Just a quick tip before I go. Next time you're looking at our website, check out the Saving Energy pages. Lots of tips to help you save money by saving energy. There's also the Direct Debit Manager I mentioned the other day. Great tool for helping to make sure the monthly payments are what they should be and for letting you change the amount to suit different circumstances.
Have a great weekend FatVonD. :j

Hi all
So far so good. I survived a day out and spent very little and within my budget so am feeling OK.
Now for the weekend..... It is all so tempting.0 -
Morning all,
Welcome WanttobeSE, its a great thread, hope you stick around
FatvonD Great news!
La E, You sound ready for action!
Hi everyone else.
Not a lot going on today here really but will see what kind of list I can muster!
* All meals from stores, made a chicken curry for tonight and in the sc is a beef casserole for a meal over the weekend, will save me having to think tomorrow!
* No spends other then petrol as that was a "need" not a "want"
* Wearing my glasses today rather then the far more costly contact lenses, will continue giving my eyes a rest from them until I go back to the gym next week
* Find a picture hook in the garage for my youngest childs calendar to go on their bedroom wall
* Clean the kitchen/bathrooms using microfibre cloths and stardrops
* No heating on, I do have a second jumper and a scarf on but I won't put heating on when its just me here
* Check banking/spreadsheets
* Check fpl/lucky/numberplate
That's about it for now, have a good day all
