Evening lovelies :coffee:
And welcome to all new people as well - as Ziggy says this is a lovely, friendly and supportive thread.
Foxgloves - so sorry that you're feeling poorly still.
Katy_ann - I really hope little man is home soon, and really pleased that he's on the mend.
LaE - there are a few good online wool shops in the UK. I use wool warehouse, but also deramores (my favourite) and Love Knitting
Well, I've survived the first week back :j - just six more till half term - not that I'm counting or anythingIt's been busy but good - and it's been a long time since I've felt so positive about work.
Still too busy to get mse stuff done really other than the very basics.
checked banking and PAD :eek: I'm so skint and it's only the 6th of the month
daily housework jobs
nsd
reduced heating thermostat 1 degree (pleased you got your bills sorted FVD)
arranged an evening of movies for free with ds
I've done batch cooking as well - since I got in from work. The ready meals this week for packed lunch have been so helpful I need to keep going with it.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi all
Welcome uphill
Managed to do a few things even though I'm exhausted.
- walked to beauty appointment for free removal of gel nail varnish from Christmas. No fuel and free exercise.
- looked up Aldi offers and wrote shopping list. Pleased I spent £40 for 3 of us including some cleaning and toiletries.
- ate leftover chilli with a jacket potatoe
- market research whilst out shopping earning me £6
- returned sale PJs for refund
- called to morrisons got some stuff I can't buy in Aldi and some YS things.
- some custard on offer went through at a higher price, they had forgotten To Remove the offer off the shelf edge so I got it at reduced price
- very pleased with myself as tempted to get a ready meal curry or take away. But stuck to my guns and made home made curry with chicken that was defrosting a home. It was on offer when I bought it.
- FPL
- went for free health check at he vets with our new hamster. Went into £stretcher and bought saw dust for hamster which is 50% cheaper than the pet store.
- researched the blue rewards programme with Barclays as TsB have stopped doing their cashback for using contactless. You earn £4 per month on blue rewards, TSB used to be £5. Need to sort this out, it's not a lot but free money none-the-less.
Think that's all for me, LP xCompetition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -
Welcome LP, Wishus
Hope little man is getting stronger Katie Ann.
- Bagged another NSD today. Managed to avoid buying a cuppa in the work canteen today - arrived after others (unintentionally) and just grabbed a seat, joined in the conversation, then headed back to the office afterwards and had a free cuppa!
- Heating off again at home, a bit chilly to be honest but I'm planning a early night and already have a HWB on my lap and rug around me. Realise that in time away from MSE I've gotten a bit lax about heating etc, and quick to turn it on. I look forward to DD coming back and see the heating as a celebration of that!!
- BLD from stores. Really enjoyed cheese on toast with beans for dinner tonight! Proper comfort food. Grated the cheese to make it go a bit further
- WM on timer to go through tonight when cheaper.
- Really productive day at work today. Am hopeful that the role will be reviewed soon (upwards!).
- Made plans to see friends and family over the weekend, but for free visits at home rather than going out anywhere
- Hardly any jobs done 'for me/home' today. Night off needed!

Evening all
So pleased to hear that Katy Ann's little baby is getting betterHope he can go home soon!
Also, on a lighter note, that FatVonD seems to have sorted out her scary electricity bill :eek:
And it is nice to see new / returned posters :hello:
Got up early as we were heading off to an auction viewing this morning and expecting visitors this afternoon. Made cakes and scones before 9am, which I think was quite an achievement! I did little plain sponge cakes in paper cases (used a 2 egg Victoria sponge recipe), and when they were cold, carefully cut a depression in each, saving the cut out piece, filled the depression with a teaspoon of HM jam and some whipped cream and topped with the saved 'lids'. Not slimming at all, but fresh cream cakes to go with visitors' afternoon tea which cost very little (only a little bit of cream needed) and looked pretty on the cake stand
Went to the auction viewing, and later watched some of the auction online. We are selling, not buying (silly prices for the kinds of things I like :eek:) Quite pleased with the prices we have realised so far. The auction continues tomorrow, but the other bits we have in are a bit junky so no great expectations there - fun to watch though!
Other than that, I have:
Cleaned the bathroom - I had some laundry stain remover stuff in my use up box, no idea where it came from, but it had been kicking around in the cupboard for ages. Anyway, I tipped it into an empty stardrops bottle and am using it instead of actual stardrops. It seemed to clean the dreaded bathroom floor ok diluted in a bucket of water, so it will now get used up, and I won't need to buy more stardrops yet
Post office with ebay parcels while out and about
Called into Lidls on the way back to pick up a few things
Sold another ebay item, and am considering an offer on another
Curry made yesterday for dinner
Nearly time for bed I think!0 -
I stupidly missed my stop on the train tonight (I was struggling with the sudoku :rotfl: ) and had to get the train back the other way but...
It meant I arrived at the little Mr T just as they were doing reductions and before grabby man and Mrs 'arrive early and hide the best stuff at the back' and I managed to get...
8 X packs of raspberries @ 15p each
1 X pack of cherries @ 20p
2 X pots of guacamole @ 15p each
4 X tuna pasta bakes @ 25p each
1 X pack of mashed potato @ 15p
2 X packs of two custard slices @ 12p each
A total spend of £3.09 saving myself £27.81 :T
I had guacamole with own brand tortilla chips for dinner (the teens were out tonight so I will cook tonight's planned meal tomorrow) followed by a custard slice and a pack of raspberries. I'll have the rest of the guacamole for lunch tomorrow and everything else (apart from the cherries) is in the freezer. I must miss my stop more often :rotfl:Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

morning
no rest for the wicked (also known as madam's "favourite" aka me! It's a curse as well as a blessing to be the favourite!) I told madam tomorrow to wake up oh! I generally don't mind getting up with her but sometimes I want a lay in
yesterday we had a ys fakeaway - pilau rice 30p, chicken tikka masala £1.78 and and treated oh to some chicken satay skewers £1.08I also picked up some ys greek yogurt 500grms (need to freeze 1/2) 30p, whipping cream 75p (going to make some butter in a bit
) and fromage frais for madam 50p. Yogurts have been put in the freezer. Totally loving ys shopping at the moment
yesterday got some cooking sauce packets from work as I had noticed they were past their bbd and we are not allowed to use with residents so ching ching!
Today's agenda includes:
* meeting up with dd and madam has asked to go to soft play. Will make sure we are fed and watered before going as it's very easy for the costs to mount up there....
* [STRIKE]check meal plan for tea[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]get joint out of freezer for tomorrow[/STRIKE]
* all meals/snacks/drinks from stores
* load of washing
* put stuff up in the loft that has been sat in the hallway for a week
* [STRIKE]check banks[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]update spending diary[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]get oh to give me what he owes for cc - almost forgot! Need to look into a new reward cc as mine has now stopped doing it[/STRIKE] :eek: no need as he'd actually put too much housekeeping in the joint account that covers it
* ask oh to get ss from old cc - this is now urgent as have to do my tax return :eek:
* want to go to the allotment for an hour
Ok that'll do I think!
