  • I'm now installed eating my lunch, so can report on progress. Thanks for joining me Narco, how did you do?

    I did :

    Loaded dishwasher
Sorted 2 loads clean washing and put away non iron bits
    Another load on
    Poo patrol
    Swished two toilets and sinks
Emptied bathroom bins, kitchen bin and recycling (lots of this!)
Cleared worktops and dining table and wiped them
Hoovered kitchen and conservatory floor and mopped.
Also put away out of place things as I moved from room to room, I remember you said you did this last year so I'm trying.

    Now to cheese on toast!

    Biscuit monster thanks for instigating it; I managed to;
    - clear floordrobe
    - put away all clothes on drier from yesterday's wash
    - started putting hair bows etc into new box Mr M gave me. Dressing table a real hot spot for another occasion when I have more time.
    - rugs shaken out of window
    - dusted
    - vacuumed floor
    - cleared "stuff" off bedside table
    - emptied bins
    - found new homes for a few Christmas presents which were lurking around
Another, temporary, hotspot is now contained to a small area by the window where we have boxes of Christmas stuff. De-decorating for us will be Friday so it will go then.

And doing all that has made me move around from room to room, so I have continued the 'put something away' whenever I have gone into another room.

A quick blitz of a report now before lunch then I am going to be tempted outside as the sun has just come out and there are a few plants looking very black and soggy after recent weather which need cutting back. Shouldn't really be priority over work though....
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Afternoon all.
I'm lucky this week as OH is still off work and so has been doing the flying for me! Yesterday he hoovered through downstairs and had a tidy up so it looks much nicer.
The only problem with his tidying is that he tends to throw things anywhere that they are out of sight, I then can't find them for weeks! But at least he's doing it.
I'll be home by 3:30 today so might try and tackle the list when I first get home, after which I've got lots of work admin and life admin to do, need to find the documents to send off for the mortgage application (knocking 7.5 years off the term whilst maintaining around the same payment!).
Busy as always, it never stops does it, and I don't even have kids. Don't know how you mums do it!!

Another one just stopping for a bit of lunch. So this morning I have:
    Stripped and remade DD's bed
Vacuumed our mattress then remade bed
    Dusted bedrooms and vacuumed
Been to Mr S with a list - that I stuck to! Oh apart from the Danish pastry that I've just eaten :o . That was my reward for going for run with a friend this morning. When I say run, actually it was more like a fast walk, but it was nice to be out.
I have left the vacuum cleaner on the landing thinking that it might inspire me to carry on, but Narco has reminded me of the rather black geraniums that are still in pots outside. Sorting those out might just be more attractive :D

I didn't get a whole lot done before my tea date, so determined to make up for it now.

I have, however, blitzed the kitchen in the caravan and now have a single, small hotspot to clear at A N Other time.

I picked up a habit from my nan, who used to say "leave everything a little better than you found it" When I go into another room, I try to remember this and tidy, wipe, straighten, sort etc.

Into the pit of doom I go. Send a search party if I'm still missing at dinner.....
  • Thank you for the warm welcome!

Today the children went back to school so I managed to go to M&S to pick up an online order (sale pj bargains for the boys), Mr T, & stuck to my list for the weekly shop. Put shopping away & cleaned out fridge. SS kitchen, caught up on 3 weeks worth of ironing & put it all away. Finally having a coffee before I pick my cherubs up from school. :)

Redshank your loft sounds just like ours. It's fine when you're not having to move anywhere but when you need to then it's an awfully big job isn't it. DH merrily stashes stuff up there. I'm not allowed to go as I'd fling an awful lot so it's off-limits to me. What's your moving date?
    .

By the end of the month - we rent and have organised it so we have a 2 week overlap so we can do it all ourselves with the car and a hired Transit.

I did venture up the attic again today....started sorting paperwork, got distracted by various congratulations on your wedding/first wedding anniversary/birth of your child cards etc (will be 10 years married this year and eldest has just turned 8), had a hormone-induced cry, quit and came back downstairs to the bedroom. Where I've KonMari'd all my clothes and stripped/changed the bed.
Newbie doing the best I can :D :A

Getting a bit worried about everyones child(ren) back to school today that I have the wrong day and ds should have been there today :rotfl: He goes back tomorrow (I hope its a bit late now!)

mrs-moneypenny I cross stitch, it is very relaxing. The only thing with me is I have to do small ones that can be completed in a week max as I am too impatient. I wish I had the patience to complete a large canvas as the large ones look fantastic when finished. I haven't done any for ages perhaps it will be my treat to myself once my house is tidy.

I'd not heard of these universal keys, but my car was rifled through a month or so ago. I'm particular about locking, so was really baffled there was no damage.

This happened to me. I came to the conclusion I must have pressed the wrong button on the fob (ie open button rather than lock :o) As I dont know how they got in as like you no damage. With modern cars you can't even tell if a door has been left open so I think they just go around at night trying all the doors on cars seeing which ones open

I wish I hadn't read that it sounds good but the idea for me is to get rid of stuff not buy more! hope you enjoyed it.

I try to go on the buy one chuck something else out, but fail! It's lovely and I certainly will be buying the next one with the chakra candle but no more after that as they get too expensive after the next copy. I am going to make myself a sleep pillow. I am not sleeping propley, I just want to go to bed ,fall asleep and wake up at half six in the morning feeling refreshed instead of falling asleep for an hour then lying in bed thinking. Thinking is not good for me! :rotfl:
