Haven't managed to keep up with all that's going on but thanks for the welcome!

Now on day 2 and I'm hoping not to crash and burn! Back to work today and it was ok. Managed to get up early and have a walk whilst listening to a pod cast. Used to do this a while ago but as it got darker and darker it was more difficult to get out of bed. I definitely need some quiet time first thing in order to function normally!

Ss 2 bathrooms (got 3!) and also vacuumed after kids went home, plus did 2 loads of washing. Also washed up about 5 times today!

Tuesday - Lovely Living Rooms and Safe Stairs
    Level One
[STRIKE]Vacuum floors in these areas, even if around clutter
Clear anything from the stairs! Safe stairs are a must[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Move clutter so you can vacuum under it
Vacuum and wipe (if needed) sofas
Dust any areas below eye level [/STRIKE]
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Dust anything above eye level (if safe to do so) [/STRIKE]
Clear anything that shouldn't be where it is, ahem that includes that cup!
[STRIKE]Wipe the bits next to the steps on the stairs, yours might be skirting board, edging of some sort, grab a cloth and give it a wipe[/STRIKE]

Didn't quite manage to clear the bookcase of junk or the little coffee table in the siting room, but managed to do everything else.

ATB I'm another one who agrees. I do a lot of my work from home but yes, there are still some who think I do nothing except play sloth in the conservatory all day. I mean, an hour here and there but not all day!

    So far today I have:
    - done a load of washing
    - been to zumba
    - booked up for 3 more gym classes. Must say this on-line booking system does make me commit to going.
    - remembered to drop by the dry cleaners with MIL's cushion covers only to find they aren't back from Christmas until tomorrow.
    - posted a couple of things
    - spoke to 2 mums of students, 1 student and sent a fair few emails.
    - done more of a report
    - cooked dinner, enough for tomorrow as well
    - Mr N and I have 'practised' our dancing - as much as we could remember - as our class starts again tomorrow

And I'm all for garish colours!
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Thanks for the heads up Bossy - I had seen something on a local FB group about the vans. We have two and when DH is home this weekend we will make sure they are both garaged in the warehouse unit he rents xx

You guys have made me feel sooooo much better today - in a world which seems to be full of crazies sometimes and leaving me wondering if I'm the weird one, you guys are keeping me sane! :)

Glad you are feeling a lot more positive about things ATB

About 3/4 of the Christmas stuff is now in the attic, we'll finish putting it away tomorrow night.

Fridge had a good clear out and I made a veggie shepherds pie out of some stuff that needed using up.

Got a fair chunk of embellishment area done on my cross stitch it's was in gold thread which is not my fave thing to stitch with as it's quite snaggy and scratchy to work with. Still it will be worth it I hope when it's done. It's one of the lavender and lace Celtic ladies called Noel

*Healing vibes* for you, Redshank, and I hope the threatened lurgy doesn't develop.....

Thank you :) Early night last night seemed to have helped but seeing as it's currently just gone 1am and I'm still not in bed tonight (yay insomnia!) I can't see that helping. :(

I've been mostly still sorting for this move, everything is chaos. Eldest went back to school today so school drop off then straight to town for the weekly shop. Home by lunch time, toddler down for her nap, made tomato and lentil soup for lunch with some homemade soda bread, sorted and boxed up the DVDs and some of the ornaments/pictures from the mantelpiece, swept through the front room (I swear the dog should actually be bald the amount of fluff I'm constantly sweeping up), spent a good amount of time panicking over our hens (confirmed case of bird flu about 50miles away and haven't got the means to keep our half dozen back garden ladies 100% separate from wild birds as per current DEFRA diktat  ), went through a couple of we-buy-books-and-DVD websites plus sold a couple of specialist textbooks via FB, stood for a period of time in the attic room staring round at the junk wondering how the hell I'm meant to get rid of it all (bulldozer? Hire a skip? 1,000,001 trips to the tip?!), advertised a binbag full of fabric scraps on freecycle, should probably go to bed now.

Pretty sure I should be able to manage tomorrow's/Wednesday's Flying if it's just main bedroom and hall. Assuming I can power myself with enough coffee come morning. Guess I should attempt bed again now. Ho hum :o

    Good morning everyone
Well done ATB on saying no. It sounds like you did completely the right thing. I so often hear my head saying no but somehow my mouth says yes. Then I stress about what it is that I've agreed to. So well done you.
Day off from the paid stuff today. Up at usual time, so our bed has been stripped and bedding is in the WM. Just so happens that I'm on list - go me! Some ironing bits done. Will see DD off to school shortly, then I will get on. Debating whether I really need to go food shopping or not....

Morning everyone. Hope you're all ok today.

ATB - I'm another one who agrees with everyones comments. I too work from home and everyone thinks I can be flexible apart from my boss. Maybe we could all learn to say no more often.

Although I did have a quiet afternoon yesterday but couldn't do any flying because of my flippin ankle.

And I said yes to baking a hundred fairy cakes for a charity fundraiser. However, realised afterwards that the date clashes with something else, so my question is can I freeze the fairy cakes, then defrost and ice them?

Glad its the bedroom on the list today as mine is rather dusty although I've taken to changing the bedding at the weekend now.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Good morning lovelies :D

Well...huge, belated but huge, rude raspberries to your SiL ATB. What a cheeky mare! Good for you for saying no. Honestly, some people!

Very glad that it is the master [STRIKE]pit[/STRIKE] bedroom today. Going to try to do both the house and caravan, however my friend has invited me round for a cuppa on our first day of freedom after the holidays, so not sure how much I'll be getting done. I really want to swap mattresses, as the one in the caravan is too hard for me, but think I might struggle with an extra deep double mattress on my head as I battle through the Somme and builders to the house.

There have been reports on the local news here about thieves using a "universal key" ( apparently available online for a few quid) to literally unlock any van, in order to nick contents  Cordless tools seem to be their aim - my carpenter got done over the week before Christmas and lost over £2K in power tools. Horrid baskets

Ahh, the krackens are awake.....off to school for them! Flingity fling!

Morning everyone! Was up at 3.00 as just couldn't sleep and eventually went back to bed at 4 and just dozed off when the alarm went ... typical.

Z just left for school, S is up and seeming a lot happier as we had another chat about worry last night as he had already forgotten what a good day he had yesterday and little worries were creeping back in again. Awful having him worry like he does but unfortunately he gets the worry/anxiety from me - good thing is I have lots of good ways to smash the 'worry monster' and we're working out what works for him too.

I did our bed 2 days ago but desperately need to do all the other stuff as our floor is definitely a floordrobe. I bought some really nice towels the other day in the sale so am going to relegate some of the older ones to household stuff. Got to start back with paid stuff properly today too - be nice to be earning again. December has definitely been a lean month for £s.

ATB glad we made you feel better.

Narco what sort of dancing are you and Mr N doing?

Iammumtoone I tend to do bits from different levels so there may be a level three job that needs doing more than the level two job iyswim - that's how I use the list. I tend to always do level one jobs. Yesterday I even did some of the extras and had to lie down in a darkened room afterwards as it's so very unusual for me!!

Mrs-MP how long have you been cross stitching for? I can imagine it's very satisfying to do as well.

Redshank your loft sounds just like ours. It's fine when you're not having to move anywhere but when you need to then it's an awfully big job isn't it. DH merrily stashes stuff up there. I'm not allowed to go as I'd fling an awful lot so it's off-limits to me. What's your moving date?

Fayolle ugh, food shopping - necessary evil isn't it. I tend to go early and get it done - could you combine it with dropping DD off at school?

Jazee I think I missed how you did your ankle - is it strapped up or anything? Really frustrating isn't it because short of hopping around there's nothing you can do.

Dizzy I hadn't heard that about the universal key - that's awful that they can just get into any van that way. Is nothing sacred? Enjoy your time with your friend; I'm meeting mine for coffee later too!

Off for breakfast now and get S started on getting ready for 2nd day back ...... fingers crossed no tears.
