Thank you ATB - this morning was awful as all S did was sob and say he was so worried, he felt sick, he was clinging to me. All this is because he went to a sleepover back in September as part of a birthday party so with 4 others and he didn't tell anyone but he was nervous about going. He woke in the night, realised he wasn't at home and panicked and now finds it really hard to leave home :(. I took him into the classroom on the understanding this is the one and only time that happens as it went on for 5 weeks last year ..... we normally have him go in with a friend and he's been much better but today was wobbly after being off for a fortnight.

About to feed the WM, then want to do as much of the lounge as I can. DH is going for a walk but I'm staying home. I've filled the bird feeders as they'd emptied the last lot in record time. I also want to do the little bit of ironing lying around so it's out of the way and start as I mean to go on.

    Morning!

Hugs to froddy and anyone else not feeling the new year cheer. Just popped to Mr A - pillows reduced yaay, also got kids new undies and DD school cardis. Bumped into mum of DD friend from nursery - little one (5) had septicaemia from end of Nov and they nearly lost her! What a sobering thought! She needs an op but they are hoping of a full recovery after that, thankfully.

So, today is LR day, which is good - I'm a bit ahead as we took the decs down on Sunday and dusted and vacced then. So I'll spend some extra time in the loft sorting the rest of the Xmas stuff.

Just having a coffee then I'll find my fingerless gloves and crack on, lol

Welcome Fayolle! Do, please, de-lurk. We won't bite! :D

Oh Frodders, (((hugs))) for feeling overwhelmed by it all.

*Healing vibes* for you, Redshank, and I hope the threatened lurgy doesn't develop.

*Car-fixing vibes* for you Valli and a (((hug))).

ATB I confess I've been buying daffs since early December when they first appeared in the shops here. I love them because they're such a cheeful yellow. I bought masses of bulbs for the garden too, well over 100, so I'm looking forward to them flowering. Spikes up all over the place, but I've got no idea what else I planted so they could be anything. Plus, of course, the Spanish bluebells that get stronger and stronger every year. Love spring flowers even if they do appear mid-winter. Our geraniums are still flowering ....

(((Hugs))) Mumof2 for your DS. Horrible for both of you, but hopefully now that he's got past the first day things will improve for him.

Loudmouth, what's wrong with 63? Do you wear purple and a red hat that doesn't go?

Ionafan, half a cake! Go you! I hope the weigh in went well and you had a thoroughly self-indulgent good time yesterday. It just goes to show how exhausted you were, needing all that sugar. Please treat yourself to some more 'Me Time' because it sounds as though you need it ... or a holiday where there are steam trains ....

Bins, cat litter and recycling out and collected, bathroom sparkled, off to the libary now with books that I've renewed so many times online I'm not allowed to do so again, including one on Alzheimer's and Memory Loss that I kept forgetting I had ....
    Better is good enough.
  • Good Morning,

I'm new! I used to lurk a few years ago but have since remembered and I'm here as a member. I have two sons and a three bedroom house. I'm currently off work due to ill health but my mind still thinks I'm healthy so I am bored - so for once, I'm going to put my energy into my home.

Today I will be sorting paperwork, washing and catching up with the ironing which I've got very behind on. Sadly I have these great ideas but then I'm back to square one with my health, but I will at least, give it a go :o)

    Have a great day all.
  • Been super good already.

    - Done the bottle bank trip of shame :o
    - Been to grandma's for a cuppa
    - Taken a load to the tip
    - Done MiLs laundry for her
    - Did an hour's volunteering
    - Ran all the pans and the hob bits and pieces through a DW hot wash

Mini rant alert so feel free to ignore - because I work from home for DH, most of his and my family don't seem to class that as actual work, therefore think I am on hand to do childcare/errands/"favours" at the drop of a hat. SiL has texted me this morning to ask if I can have my nephew one day a week every week going forwards. It's one of the days DS goes to pre-school, and DD is of course at school, so I am childfree and use that time to really crack on with work. So I've said no, very kindly of course, and explained why. I am not paying for my own child to be in childcare and look after someone elses on that very same day! She has the hump. !!!!!!.

Rant over, off to prep lunch xx

Mumof2 - biggest of hugs to you that sounds awful, poor S xxx

Honey bear, I am still only 62! Until September, but it somehow sounds wrong when I tell people I have a daughter about to turn 14. So many people mistake her as my grandchild!
I think I am a lady who would wear purple with a red hat type of person, who knows what I may find in the sales!
Just realised I have not spent any money since Christmas Eve! I wonder if I can keep it up till weekend?

ATB that sucks :o as hard as it is, let her get on with her strop. She is not entitled to your time, whether you are working or not! Good for you for saying no!

Well I'm feeling semi-virtuous, have been in the loft and put all the decs away (except the outside lights are still up till 12th night), had a sort of festive stuff and tidied round. I've also pulled down the tub of clothes I had up there, ready for sorting.

Problem is, now my kitchen is full of tat I neither want nor need. So I'll have to sort that. It's bin day Thursday I think (they all changed!) so hopefully will get some stuff out via that route, plus some recycling and I have some bits for the CS.

Just having a brew and the last of the pate on some toast, then I'll whizz through the LR and move onto the aforementioned tat pile.

    :D

Lost the post ..Thanks to the two ladies re Drying washing outside. Mine is a rotary. I do wonder if I could re attach the pullies up the scafold poles, That goes so high and does manage to catch the sun(if there is any) and wind , I tried fixing it years ago but Couldn't pull the scaffolds down towards me, Even with a stronger person Heavy. Wonder if there is another way to get the line up threaded through the pullys?

ATB - I have the same problem. People seem to think that working from home and not working are the same thing. Or that you can be infinitely flexible. My employer doesn't agree...

I've washed my thermals, and have another load on. There's one more to go to clear everything but the whites that will go in when I do my sheets. And I've done a whole lot of admin as well.
