We have had some lovely weather haven't we? I even pegged washing out! That's a one time a year thing for me :rotfl:

Glad hospital went well and you have a plan. Did they give an idea how long you'll be waiting?

    They aren't so bad.
I've clearly been spoilt. If we have an operation we are not expected to work the rest of the day. If we have a standard appointment we just get the appointment time. I will appreciate their generosity more now :)

Quick round up of the week.

Work is just as busy always loads to do, which is good.

Thursday saw my DGD being sent to A&E as she had very high temp, listless , not drinking or eating for about 4 days. GP sent her so of course you worry. Anyway she has bad ear and throat infection, they kept her all day and she is on antibiotics now, but is very miserable.

Yesterday mum stayed at home with DGD so DGS and I went to a big park near my work. Had lunch out and got conned into buying a ball. Spent about £18 ! .

Today I am off for a day out with a friend , going up to the Ribble Valley . Tomorrow will be about cleaning, shopping .
Also going to go and get a decent mattress topper to see if that helps with my sleeping .

    Have a good day.

Never drink coffee at work or home, drink decaf tea and have done for a while. Have tried valerian root , never tried kalms .

Will maybe try and get some this week. Thank you .

They have them in Boots/superdrug etc (Kalms), the sleep one is based on Valerian root. They didn't help me - but then they are fighting against a lot of caffeine in my case :o

Hope you don't have to wait too long for your op and that it's a quick recovery. The waiting drives me mad...

Is it the light that wakes you - I keep threatening to invest in blackout linings for my curtains but there's always something more important. I slept great on holiday yet woke at the crack of dawn now I'm hom again.

Hope your gdd is better soon.

  • I found a new latex topped mattress helped me sleep (no more springs digging into my ribs). I also have a silk eye mask (£6 from Am@zon) so the light doesn't wake me and wax ear plugs. Drinking de-caff after 5.00pm helps a lot too!

Sleep is a serious business :rotfl:

Thank you for your helpful suggestions , I will take on board some of them, HH I have a eye mask might try it again.

After playing out yesterday I needed to do some chores today , so up at 7 , I have dusted sitting room, and my bedroom. Sorted kitchen, cleaned bathroom. One load of washing is on the line, another in.

Stripped my bed, turned mattress , washed bedding . Ready to hopefully put mattress topper on later and clean bedding.

Going to hoover lounge, bedroom and kitchen, hallway. The rest can wait till next week.
This afternoon , I need to remake bed, do the ironing. Going to get ready for shopping with dad , then off for mattress topper with mother ship.

I am hoping all this effort means I can get to sit outside for a short time reading a book.

    Best get that hoover out.
