There are only a couple of empty premises in the town and both are larger units at huge amounts. I will see if he will accept a lower amount though as I can but try. I would hope that I could afford it, but with Brexit etc and prices for stock going up already I would like to try and get it down.
He's basically adding 10% increase, however it will have been the same for 4 years by then.
I will write to him and explain that I am barely surviving at the moment and that the increase could be the undoing of the fine line. ( of course I am hoping that will not be the case, but if it goes up, my income would get worse if the shop stays the same).
Anyway I can but ask.
As you say he won't want it empty. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Just sent an email to Landlord asking if he could negotiate on the second year as I explained that the increase in wages, pensions and cost of goods have increased, and that takings have reduced due to the repairs on the town hall etc. I also mentioned that I only manage £120 a week wage from the business and relying on Tax Credits etc, that I would have to wonder why I carry on if I have to find another £900 year in overheads.
I have asked for a increase to £800 a month from £750
Fingers crossed he will be in a good mood and will accept that.
I may have great plans and hopes, but I need to look at the facts at the moment. I still have a long way to go to earn my living and not require tax mans help!
Time to open for the day.

Yeah!
Landlord is going to give me a 2 year lease at my current rate of £750. And we can review it in 18 months x
Thanks for encouraging me to negotiate! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Well done Mooloo. You are a good tenant and LL love good tenants, better to have you who pays every month than a void or a bad payer.
Always remember to negotiate.0 -
Well done Ognum and Mooloo :TI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

The rain has not let up today so it kept the customers away. £6.61 my days takings. The darkness of the day has had a negative effect on my feelings and I was low while at work, even though mid afternoon I had the good news from the LL. I closed on time, and I went shopping at Mr T for fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals.
DS came to see me to thank me for helping him once again with the car.
He has shifts on Thursday Friday and Saturday coming up.
I have been trying to be more mindful and not be down on myself. I have been reading a mindful magazine and had a nice bubble bath. I am in my night things, and feeling slightly better. But I am feeling quite light headed every now and then. I will be having another early night again.
Tomorrow is another day and I will stay close to home and try and focus on the good things. I will dig out my SAD light if the weather doesn't improve. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo I know it's easier said than done when you have so many balls to juggle but try to give yourself a bit of leeway and rest when you can . Well done to Ognumfor the suggestion and you for acting on it . If you don't ask you don't get any landlord now would prefer a trouble free , hard working tenant to an unknown replacement .
I know I don't post often but I'm cheering you towards your dream from the sidelines .
Take care
