That way, everything gets cleared in a few months and you make money and so does she.
Yes, she was supposed to be going to do that for me before but she didn't seem to bother then, but it is worth asking.
The reason I have run out of money is because I bailed the kids out, variously between them, and I also got used to having more money so spend more!
In the three years I have replaced the car, fridge freezer, cooker, and had several holidays. I have bailed Out DS with the bailiffs, and the council, and that's why I don't have any money left. I agree that I kept my wages low, so I could reinvest the takings into stock and equipment.
I am confident that the business will grow and that it will be paying me a better wage. I have gone from the first year taking nothing, the second year from £50 a week, increased to £75 and in this third year I have gone from £75 to £120 a week. Sometimes due to cash flow reasons I have had to wait a few days until I could take my money out, because I was managing my expenses on my money. So it is my own fault that I didn't close the bank of mum. I tried for the day to day things, but the emergency calls I could not turn my back on.
I have done my SOA, I know where I am, and I will find ways and means to get rid of the debt, and I will see how much I can beat the debts and build the savings again.
I realise it is going to be harder to do with the economy as it is. But I can do it.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well done Mooloo I admire your spirit I just can't help seeing things differently, probably due to different life experiences and ways of doing things but I always wish you good luck.0

PLEASE make sure that it is on a business footing, not on you doing her / her doing you a favour.
She needs to do what you need her to do, when you need her to do it. She can't not do something she doesn't feel like doing, or just land you in it because a better offer comes up ...
Forgive me for speaking bluntly (and you too Biggest, I know you may read!)Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I don't like having the debts, it goes against the grain at times, but at least I have gone from Bankruptcy 10 years ago, to having a good credit rating!
I have already moved money from yesterday's income into clear the card we ended up using on Monday, so it is now back to zero. I didn't want to wait until the statements came in.
I have also revised the budget for August, and should be able to pay down £400 to the cards on top of the money Biggest paid yesterday.
I will also be able to put £40 back into the Holiday funds, and £10 into the Emergency Fund.
If I stick to the food and petrol budget and no other surprises are thrown at Me I will be happy with that for this month, as I have already paid my car insurance for the year ahead.
The £20 a month for that will go into the second savings account.
When the HMRC update my claim, I know funds will go down as I earned more, and I have had a rough guess at what it may be with the help of the Entitled too website promoted here on MSE.
I have just received the new Barclays wristband for contactless payment and I have topped it up with £100.
I am going to try and use that for my food shopping . Making me have to stick to a maximum of £30 for a shop.
So when I go round the supermarket I will stick to my list and add it up as I go along.
I have £50 cash then in my Purse for purchases from the market stall if I go there, for the month.
I believe that I can get back on budget that way. Although time will tell. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
This raises a slight worry flag for me, wrt Biggest working for you.

I think that she will step up to the plate, and work as she can see the wage slip at the end of the week. She was professional when she helped me run the pub in 2005/6 so I don't think that will be the same as trying to sell things via eBay or Facebook for a few quid. Lots of effort for little returns.

I think that is enough work on the financial situation tonight.
Tomorrow is another day, and I don't have the seamstress in until next Thursday now, as she has to go for vitamins injections, and the appointment times are in the middle of the day, so not worth the hours driving each way unless she does a full day. So I will be doing all the work that comes in.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
You never fail to amaze me Mooloo. The way you have such a positive vision despite curve balls constantly being thrown your way. I know you will get to where you want to be one day. I have every faith in you, you're such an inspiration :A
I'd love to know more about this Barclays wristband thing as it sounds like something I could use. I'm in a bit of a sticky financial situation at the moment and posted up my SOA on the debt board last week. I was using my credit card for monthly spending and paying it off in full. That worked fine for years but over the past year or so, the spending has got out of control to the extent I've done at least four BT to a 0% deal on another card, to the tune of £1500+ each. My monthly budget was £600-£800
Anyway, I'm now in the situation that I'm going to transfer just £400 a month into my Barclays account and use this for my monthly groceries, diesel, pet food etc., so would be very interested in this wristband. Just realised I've babbled on to you when I could equally have gone and googled it. Sorry0 -

.
Although technically you could do with the money, at what other cost to you is saving stuff to sell? There's the years of psychological weight of the stuff piled up, endlessly waiting to be sorted, the house feeling a mess the sense of overwhelm with yet another big job waiting to be done hanging over you. I don't think it is worth it for the hours and hours you'd put in, the potential for non payers, the complainers, the packing up and trips to the PO. Let's say you could make £500, or even £700... no I don't think that is worth it.
Or set yourself a 30 day challenge to photograph an list one thing a day for 30 days and see if that works for you.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

No problem. It's called Bpay. You can have wristband or keyfobs. You load up the money like a prepaid card. You can get it to use with any visa or master card. I choose to load it from my current account rather than my credit card. I will see how it goes. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
